    Abstract: Background: Oxidative stress (OS) is associated with ferroptosis. Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), as an adjuvant treatment, has shown to be beneficial against OS. However, the efficacy of CoQ10 as a therapeutic agent against OS has not been promptly updated and systematically investigated. Methods: A systematic literature search was performed using the Medline, EMBASE, Web of science, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, CNKI, CBM, Science direct and clinical trial. gov to identify randomized clinical trials evaluating the efficacy of CoQ10 supplementation on OS parameters. Standard mean differences and 95% confidence intervals were calculated for net changes in OS parameters using a random-effects model. Results: Twenty-one randomized clinical studies met the eligibility criteria to be included in the meta-analysis. Overall, CoQ10 supplementation increased the levels of antioxidant enzymes [including superoxide dismutase (SOD) (SMD = 0.63; 95% CI: 0.38 to 0.88; p & lt; 0.001), catalase (CAT) (SMD = 0.44; 95% CI:0.16 to 0.72; p = 0.002)] significantly and the levels of malondialdehyde (MDA) (SMD = -0.68; 95% CI: 0.93 to -0.43; p & lt; 0.001) was decreased considerably. However, significant associations were not observed between this supplement and total antioxidant capacity (TAC), glutathione peroxidase (GPx) activity. Conclusion: CoQ10 can improve OS as indicated by statistical significance in CAT and MDA concentrations, as well as SOD activity. Future studies focusing on long-term results and specific valuation of OS parameters are required to confirm the efficacy of CoQ10 on OS. We also believe that with the further research on ferroptosis, CoQ10 will gain more attention. Systematic Review Registration: [ https://inplasy.com/ ], identifier [INPLASY2021120123] .

    Abstract: Perioperative neurocognitive disorders (PND) is a common postoperative neurological complication. Neuroinflammation is a major cause that leads to PND. Autophagy, an intracellular process of lysosomal degradation, plays an important role in the development and maintenance of nervous system. PK11195 is a classic translocator protein (TSPO) ligand, which can improve the cognitive function of rats. In this study, we evaluate the protective effect of PK11195 on the learning and memory of rats. A rat model of lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced cognitive dysfunction was established by intraperitoneal injection of LPS. Morris Water Maze (MWM), Western blot, qRT-PCR, confocal microscopy and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) were used to study the role of TSPO-specific ligand PK11195 in LPS-activated mitochondrial autophagy in rat hippocampus. We found that PK11195 ameliorated LPS-induced learning and memory impairment, as indicated by decreased escape latencies, swimming distances and increased target quadrant platform crossing times and swimming times during MWM tests. TSPO, ATG7, ATG5, LC3B and p62 protein and mRNA expression increased in the hippocampus of PND model rats. The hippocampal microglia of PND model rats also have severe mitochondrial damage, and a large number of autophagosomes and phagocytic vesicles can be seen. PK11195 pretreatment significantly decreased the expression of TSPO, ATG7, ATG5, LC3B and p62 protein and mRNA, as well as mitochondrial damage. These findings suggested that PK11195 may alleviate the damage of LPS-induced cognitive dysfunction of rats by inhibiting microglia activation and autophagy.

    Abstract: Aims. To explore the relationships of procollagen type 1 N-terminal propeptide (P1NP) and β cross-linked C-telopeptide of type 1 collagen (β-CTX) with bone mineral density (BMD) in postmenopausal women. Methods. All postmenopausal women were selected from a community-based case-control study. The anteroposterior L1-L4 and left proximal femur BMD were measured. P1NP and β-CTX were also collected and tested. The main correlation analysis was applied to explore the relationships of BMD, P1NP, and β-CTX. Results. The total 1055 postmenopausal women were enrolled. The BMD at all sites kept a decrease continually with age ( P 〈 0.01 ). In addition, the level of β-CTX increased significantly from 45 to 50 years old and remained at a high level in the later stage, while the level of P1NP changed little or even decreased with age. Logistic regression model showed that β-CTX has better ability to predict BMD than P1NP, as demonstrated by an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.63. Conclusion. P1NP and β-CTX are important markers to monitor bone metabolism. This trial is registered with ChiCTR-SOC-17013090. The date of registration is Oct. 23, 2017.

    Abstract: With the fierce competition in the automobile market, the focus of competition in the automobile industry had gradually turned to the automobile extended warranty service. The prediction of maintenance cost was a very important premise for the formulation of automobile extended warranty service. Combining the failure frequency data of vehicles in multiple sales batches, the mixed Weibull model was used to fit the failure process, and the single vehicle failure rate prediction model was obtained; At the same time, combined with the maintenance cost data of the same batch of vehicles, the prediction model of single vehicle maintenance cost was obtained by iterative solution. Using the existing maintenance data, the maintenance cost prediction model based on user group had been verified. The results showed that the model was real, effective and had strong engineering application value.

    Abstract: Ferroptosis is a novel form of cell death precisely regulated by iron metabolism, antioxidant processes, and lipid metabolism that plays an irreplaceable role in the development of many diseases. Musculoskeletal disorders (MSKs), including osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, intervertebral disc degeneration, sarcopenia, and rhabdomyolysis, have become one of the most common causes of disability and a major burden on public health and social care systems. The mechanism of ferroptosis in MSKs has recently been elucidated. In this review, we briefly introduce the ferroptosis mechanism and illustrate the pathological roles of ferroptosis in MSKs with a focus on how ferroptosis can be exploited as a promising treatment strategy. Notably, because the toxicity of compounds that inhibit or induce ferroptosis in other organs is largely unknown, ferroptosis appears to be a double-edged sword. We point out that more research is needed in the future to verify the therapeutic effects based on ferroptosis in MSKs.

    Abstract: Breastfeeding confers substantial benefits to child health and has also been associated with lower risk of maternal cardiovascular diseases ( CVDs ) in later life. However, the evidence on the effects of CVD is still inconsistent, especially in East Asians, in whom the frequency and duration of breastfeeding significantly differ from those in the West. Methods and Results In 2004–2008, the nationwide China Kadoorie Biobank recruited 0.5 million individuals aged 30 to 79 years from 10 diverse regions across China. During 8 years of follow‐up, 16 671 incident cases of coronary heart disease and 23 983 cases of stroke were recorded among 289 573 women without prior CVD at baseline. Cox regression yielded adjusted hazard ratios ( HR s) and 95% CIs for incident CVD by breastfeeding. Overall, ≈99% of women had given birth, among whom 97% reported a history of breastfeeding, with a median duration of 12 months per child. Compared with parous women who had never breastfed, ever breastfeeding was associated with a significantly lower risk of CVD , with adjusted HR s of 0.91 (95% CI, 0.84–0.99) for coronary heart disease and 0.92 (95% CI, 0.85–0.99) for stroke. Women who had breastfed for ≥24 months had an 18% ( HR, 0.82; 0.77–0.87) lower risk of coronary heart disease and a 17% ( HR, 0.83; 0.79–0.87) lower risk of stroke compared with women who had never breastfed. Among women who ever breastfed, each additional 6 months of breastfeeding per child was associated with an adjusted HR of 0.96 (95% CI, 0.94–0.98) for coronary heart disease and 0.97 (95% CI, 0.96–0.98) for stroke. Conclusions Among Chinese women, a history of breastfeeding was associated with an ≈10% lower risk of CVD in later life and the magnitude of the inverse association was stronger among those with a longer duration of breastfeeding.

    Abstract: A previous study has shown similar factors in dyslipidemias (DL) and osteoporosis (OP). However, no cohort study has been reported on the association between DL and OP in the postmenopausal population in China. This study aims to provide epidemiological and pathophysiological evidence regarding the association between DL and bone mass and fracture risk. Methods This is a multicenter, prospective cohort study that will have approximately 1,100 representative participants enrolled from multiple hospitals or communities in China. They will be divided into two groups according to whether or not they are exposed to dyslipidemia and will be epidemiologically investigated. Each participant will be visited continuously once every year with a minimum follow-up of 3 years to track incidences of OP. Meanwhile, free bone density screening, questionnaires, and blood sample collection will also be completed during this period. Conclusion The current study is likely to provide greater insight into the relationship between lipid metabolism and bone metabolism in postmenopausal women. Furthermore, the research result maybe fed into public health strategies with regard to metabolic disease prevention.
