    Abstract: Increased reproductive success is among the most commonly proposed adaptive functions of romantic love. Here, we tested if hormonal changes associated with falling in love may co-vary with hormonal profiles that predict increased fecundity in women. We compared blood serum levels of estradiol (E2, E2/T), luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), prolactin (PRL), free testosterone (fT), and cortisol (CT), measured in the early follicular phase of the menstrual cycle in single women (N = 69) and in women at the beginning of a romantic heterosexual relationship who reported being in love with their partner (N = 47). Participants were healthy, regularly cycling women aged 24 to 33 who did not use hormonal contraception. We found that women in love had higher levels of gonadotropins (FSH, LH) and lower testosterone levels compared to single women who were not in love. These groups of women did not, however, differ in terms of estradiol, prolactin, or cortisol levels.

    Abstract: Another generation of young people, after Y generation, who is currently standing at the threshold of their careers, and for employers - a new quality of employees, with specific attitudes, aspirations and expectations towards work and professional development, is the Z generation. Recognizing and understanding the attitude of the representatives of the Z generation to matters related to professional work is important from the point of view of constructing motivational job offers and building the involvement of young employees in organizations. The main goal of the research presented in this study was to identify the approach of the representatives of the Z generation to their own development and future career and their expectations related to work. The research aimed at achieving the above goal was carried out using the questionnaire method. It was conducted among students of the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, who represented the Z generation.

    Abstract: Knowledge of attitudes of certain professional groups towards professional work poses a significant factor that affects rationality of numerous managerial decisions related to human capital management. Expertise in this field is essential from the perspective of effective use of particular tools and solutions in the area of human resources management in an organization. The raised problems are particularly important from the perspective of diagnosing students’ attitudes towards professional work as they are a population of potential employees. The main objective of the research presented in the paper was to identify the students’ attitudes and expectations related to work and career. The research intended to achieve the objective was carried out with a survey questionnaire. It covered persons who pursued master studies (2nd degree studies) at the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn.

    Abstract: One of the most significant managerial functions is motivating which leads to the implementation of the particular organizational objectives, to shaping of engagement and loyalty of its members and, consequently, to the raising effectiveness of their actions. The properly constructed solutions in the area of employee motivating process may result in the several benefits for the organization, which is true also for the public institutions including the academic ones. The aim of the herein study was the identification of the factors which have an impact on the motivation of employees of the higher education institution. The research was conducted with the questionnaire survey among the non-academic employees of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Poland. The conducted survey concludes that the motivation of employees is affected by various factors, mostly concerning the remuneration for work and also with the self-development possibilitities, interpersonal relations, and effective communication. It is vital and worth to use the knowledge about them for improving the quality and efficiency of the organization.

    Abstract: Celem zaprezentowanych badań w artykule było znalezienie odpowiedzi na pytanie: jaki jest zakres wynagradzania pracowników za pośrednictwem dochodów odroczonych w przedsiębiorstwach przemysłowych funkcjonujących na polskim rynku oraz jak postrzegane są główne bariery oraz stymulanty wykorzystania tego typu wynagrodzeń. Badanie zostało przeprowadzone metodą ankietową. W grupie podmiotów objętych badaniem znalazło się 29 spółek, których akcje notowane były na Giełdzie Papierów Wartościowych w Warszawie.

    Abstract: Under the conditions underlying the contemporary work market, the brand of an organisation as an attractive employer, especially in the opinion of young, talented people, can be a key factor leading to the success of the company in a longer perspective. From this standpoint, the concept of employer branding is gaining importance as a modern way of creating an image of an employer among the current and future employees. The aim of this study has been to evaluate the effectiveness of employer branding activities implemented by organisations operating on the labour market in the eyes of students as potential employees. The study included students in the second cycle of studies at the Faculty of Economic Sciences, the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn. The study was carried out as a survey in the first quarter of year 2022.  The study has verified that a positive image of an employer has a significant influence on prospective applicants searching for employment in a given company. The most important role in this regard is played by employer branding activities conducted online, and creating the employer’s profile in social media seems to be particularly valid. For raising the awareness of organisations active on the job market, it also turned out to be significant to participate in in-person job fairs and all other types of events held at universities to promote employment opportunities. Companies which wish to build an employer brand among representatives of the young generation, including university students, soon to be university graduates, should pay attention to using the mentioned solutions in their management practice.

    Abstract: We współczesnych uwarunkowaniach problematyka dotycząca kształtowania zaangażowania pracowników, będącego czynnikiem o kluczowym znaczeniu dla osiągania celów organizacji, a zarazem wyznacznikiem skuteczności zarządzania kapitałem ludzkim, jest ważna z punktu widzenia każdej organizacji, w tym również uczelni wyższych. W procesie budowania zaangażowania pracowników istotną rolę odgrywa identyfikacja znaczenia różnorodnych czynników determinujących jego poziom. Jednym z takich czynników jest jakość relacji z bezpośrednimi przełożonymi. Podstawowym celem badania prezentowanego w niniejszym artykułu była identyfikacja znaczenia jakości relacji z przełożonymi jako jednego z czynników kształtujących zaangażowanie pracowników Uniwersytetu Warmińsko‑Mazurskiego w Olsztynie. Badanie służące realizacji celu zostało przeprowadzone metodą ankietową wśród nauczycieli akademickich oraz osób niebędących nauczycielami akademickimi.
