    Abstract: The article discusses the rise of crack in Brazilian cities, the excessive admission of its users in the last decade and the media coverage. The analysis shows the link between the discourses legal, medical and media, in order to break up the epidemic scene that is established, featuring some elements that dispersed and contradictorily, solidify the issue. It also aims to suspend the names and truths that fill the character of the scene-object - profiled as young, poor, violent - and that so strongly, disappears on a script by exclusion.

    Abstract: Resumen A partir de la Reforma Psiquiátrica Brasileña (RPB) y de la implementación de servicios sustitutivos al modelo manicomial, nuevas prácticas de cuidado a los usuarios de salud mental se fueron constituyendo. El presente trabajo pone en cuestión los desafíos de la RPB frente a los impasses de la desinstitucionalización en los servicios sustitutivos. La investigación se desarrolló en un Centro de Atención Psicosocial (CAPS) en un municipio ubicado en la región metropolitana de Porto Alegre/RS y se utilizó la investigación-intervención como estrategia metodológica, apostando en la idea de que el conocimiento y la práctica caminan juntos. Se realizaron talleres con un grupo de usuarios que poseían una larga trayectoria de tratamiento y de tiempo de permanencia diaria en el CAPS a fin de mapear algunos de sus recorridos por la ciudad y realizar salidas a campo para recorrer esos trayectos. Los efectos producidos por la intervención pusieron en análisis la relación con la ciudad, la vulnerabilidad económica de los usuarios, además de los desdoblamientos producidos en la investigadora.

    Abstract: To construct a public health care system guided by integrity and humanization of attention demands transformation of the traditional ways of health care and, consequently, of the formative processes of its workers. Psychology, from a perspective of institutional analysis, can develop tools that provide new trials relating to formative processes in health. The purpose of this article is to present a research-intervention held with Community Health Agents of Family Health teams of a district-run municipality of Porto Alegre, RS. The research included a process of training in health, consisting of four thematic modules: Relation of mental health/illness; Use of alcohol and other drugs; Sexuality and HIV-AIDS; and Care strategies for mental health. The work highlights the contributions of institutional analysis to the collective health, synthesized in three aspects: training as listening and analysis of work processes; mainstreaming of practice, deconstructing dichotomies and hierarchical relationships; exercising deconstruction of stereotypes and established ways of operating the health practices.

    Abstract: This paper aims to problematize the itinerancy as a way to operationalize care in the territory. With the creation of the Unified Health System, the notion of territory has become an organizing principle of work processes in primary health care and mental health policies. In the delicate field of coordination between these policies, itinerant practices now have a strategic importance in the deinstitutionalization of practices and construction of integral care. We take the deinstitutionalization and the integrality as conceptual operators that make the difference that Psychiatric and Health reforms want to print in the care practices. Warned that by joining in a posture of active search in the life territory of users, the itinerant practices fall in a field of tensions, which can both be called to work as a part of the State apparatus to population control, as in a strategic place for the construction of a contextualized care to users" way of life. We believe that it is possible to resist the social control mandate and build an ethics of care with itinerancy to explore the political power of the movement and transform the users' territory in a laboratory for the invention of life.

    Abstract: Este artigo discute sobre o uso de cartas como fontes de pesquisa e sua articulação com os conceitos de memória e esquecimento, no âmbito da história da loucura. Os autores partem do encontro ao acaso com algumas correspondências escritas no início do século XX, por pacientes do antigo Hospício São Pedro, localizado em Porto Alegre (Rio Grande do Sul/Brasil), as quais ficaram guardadas nos seus prontuários e que, aparentemente, não foram enviadas aos seus destinatários. Os procedimentos de exclusão e a regulação dos discursos daqueles que eram tidos como loucos operou um silenciamento desses sujeitos, tomando seus escritos, exclusivamente, como referentes da sua suposta loucura; entende-se que a dinâmica das relações de poder é capaz de produzir "vidas memoráveis" e "vidas pouco dignas de serem lembradas". Destaca-se o compromisso ético-político de uma perspectiva histórica que se compromete com a "memória dos oprimidos". Este estudo examina alguns "rastros do passado", entendendo-os como possibilidade de insurgência daqueles que foram relegados ao esquecimento, neste caso, lembrar do passado é intervir no presente.

    Abstract: This paper addresses the aging process in the context of public health, with emphasis to human resources and to how aging is perceived by the public health professionals. The aim of this study was to identify the representations of the aging process for public health professionals and how these representations are expressed in health care, well-being and elderly care. The sample included 27 public health professionals, 10 community health agents and 17 nursing professionals. Two instruments were used, a sociocultural questionnaire and a questionnaire about aging representations. Data analysis included qualitative and quantitative procedures (Chi-square test). Among the main findings, the most representative words used in relation to aging were retirement and rest. For this sample, good family support and care were considered the most important factors contributing to the well-being of the elderly. When it comes to defining care, the most frequent concept referred to biological aspects. Moreover, this sample in general showed some knowledge about Alzheimer Disease. These findings can contribute to the capacitation of human resources. Health agents and nursing professionals should be guided towards construction of a deeper comprehension of the biopsychosocial context of the aging process.

    Abstract: This article analyzes the uniqueness of the action of the community health workers when circulating through the territory in the municipality of Porto Alegre, state ofRio Grande do Sul, Brazil. It was considered that the meetings between agents and the territory go beyond the requirements and expectations of the health policies. The production of an idealized image of the agents, who are seen as the 'driving force' of the changes expected from Primary Care, was problematized. When analyzing the complexity of the demands in their daily work, the highlight was the multiplicity of care strategies community workers produce. The uniqueness of each territory and of the health and management teams, among several other variables, puts pressure on the agents and other workers who are part of the Family Health Strategy teams to face a reality that is very different from the one that one may suppose exists. Therefore, the emphasis was on the importance of producing a critical and reflexive position, calling into question the limits and possibilities of this practice in order to enhance the care strategies in use there.

    Abstract: Hubo recientemente en el Brasil un masivo incremento de la Educación profesional, científica y tecnológica, especialmente representada por los Institutos Federales. Este incremento fue marcado por la expansión de la red a través de la creación de centenas de nuevas unidades y contratación de millares de profesionales. Estas nuevas contrataciones han traído un gran número de psicólogos y psicólogas para actuar en la educación profesional. Este trabajo narra la experiencia de la creación de un espacio de diálogo entre los psicólogos inseridos en los Institutos Federales. Tal experiencia, una pesquisa-intervención, ha tejido una red entre estos psicólogos a través de un fórum virtual, que se ha tornado un espacio permanente para compartimiento de experiencias.
