Abstract:
Pulsed surface discharge on the surface of ceramics was investigated experimentally. The photon counting method was applied to clarify the preceding phase of the discharge. The results indicated the effect of charge injection from electrodes. A pulsed surface discharge reactor for decomposition of nitrogen oxides utilizing honeycomb ceramics was proposed. Discharge processes were observed by framing and streak photographs taken by image converter cameras. The emission spectra from the discharge were investigated using a spectrometer. Uniform surface discharges on honeycomb ceramics were successfully obtained utilizing a fast pulsed power generator with a SI-thyristor.
