Abstract: Due to the depletion of ozone atmosphere, there is a progressive increase in impact of ultraviolet (UV) radiation on human skin. The continual exposure of UV radiation results in serious adverse effects, such as photodermatosis, abnormal skin aging, erythema and skin cancer. Present study aimed to develop an improved UV resisting cotton fabric using the biocarbon derived from the abundantly available biomass residue of teff (Eragrostis tef) hay. The biocarbon had its surface functionalized, and then it was deposited onto the cotton using polyaniline as a grafting medium. In situ polymerization method was adopted for preparing the enhanced UV shielding fabric. The required functionalized biocarbon and polyaniline were optimized for attaining the maximum possible UV protection factor of the cotton. From the results, the UV protecting ability of the developed cotton fabric was found to be improved by 21 times higher as compared to ultraviolet protection factor (UPF = 66.3) than the original cotton (UPF = 3.1). In addition, the developed cotton fabric was observed to be exhibited excellent tensile strength. The morphological and structural studies were investigated using scanning electron microscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy for pure cotton fabric and hybrid material coated by biocarbon. Experimentation results revealed that the biocarbon obtained from teff hay could be a used for developing the enhanced UV protecting textile material. Hence, the acquired material can perform for better ultraviolet protection.

Abstract: The designed antenna is a monopole Z-shaped antenna operating in an unlicensed band of 2.4 GHz fabricated using low cost inkjet printing technology. The proposed inkjet printing technology is eco-friendly since the material used here is an ordinary “paper” that is suitable for the green technology. The conducting patch of silver nanoparticle (AgNP) ink has very high conductivity 35,700,000 s/m and instant curing property which helps in fabrication process without UV curing or oven heating. The printer used also is the cheap home printer HP DJ 2130 rather than the expensive Brother and Epson printers used in previous works. The printed antenna will be helpful in conditions to ascertain its performance in green agriculture in the form of RF-ID sensors, soil pH value sensor, and moisture sensor. The proposed antenna attains the gain of 2.5 dBi at the ISM band of 2.4 GHz with optimal VSWR value between 1 and 2 over the desired frequency band. The directivity and radiation efficiency of the proposed antenna are 2 dBi and 80%, respectively. The overall cost of the proposed antenna is much lesser in the order of 10 times than the recent low cost design.

Abstract: Patients with diabetes who are closely monitored have a higher overall quality of life than those who are not. Costs associated with healthcare can be decreased by utilising the Internet of Things (IoT), thanks to technological advancements. To satisfy the expectations of e-health applications, it is required for the development of the intelligent systems as well as increases the number of applications that are connected to the network. As a result, in order to achieve these goals, the cellular network should be capable of supporting intelligent healthcare applications that require high energy efficiency. In this paper, we model a neural network-based ensemble voting classifier to predict accurately the diabetes in the patients via online monitoring. The study consists of Internet of Things (IoT) devices to monitor the instances of the patients. While monitoring, the data are transferred from IoT devices to smartphones and then to the cloud, where the process of classification takes place. The simulation is conducted on the collected samples using the python tool. The results of the simulation show that the proposed method achieves a higher accuracy rate, higher precision, recall, and f-measure than existing state-of-art ensemble models.

Abstract: Industrialization is the key to the growth of any country’s economy. However, on the other hand, the production of industrial waste is increasing enormously, which adversely impacts the environment and natural resources. Red mud is also a widespread industrial waste produced during aluminium extraction from bauxite ore in Bayer’s process. Red mud is a highly alkaline material that creates a massive environmental threat in nature. To reduce the impact of this solid waste material, the ideal method is to use it in construction works with appropriate stabilization. This study envisages the strength properties of red mud with fly ash and cement to use it as a road construction material in the subgrade. The influence of fly ash and cement on improving the strength properties of red mud was studied in detail by replacing red mud with 10%, 20%, and 30% with fly ash and 1%, 3%, and 5% of cement to its dry weight. The CBR (California bearing ratio) value was increased from 1.58% to 11.6% by stabilizing red mud with fly ash and cement, which can be used as a road construction material. The UCS (unconfined compressive strength) of red mud was increased from 825 kPa to 2340 kPa upon curing for 28 days with the right mix of fly ash and cement. Along with the strength properties, the chemical analysis of leachate for the best suitable mix was performed according to the TCLP method to understand the hazardous materials present in the red mud when it is injected as ground material. Both strength properties and the leachate characteristics prove that the red mud with suitable fly ash and cement is an excellent material in road constructions.

Abstract: In a mobile network, nodes are share data packets; sometimes, that packets are totally flooding. The packet dropping node does not easily detect for routing time instance. The node trust level is minimum causing the packet loss; it affects the entire network performance, and it reduces throughput and increases communication overhead. Proposed exhaustive routing path allocation (ERP) technique is applied to select the legitimate node for broadcasting the data packets completely. The attacker nodes of that flooding packets are detected by using the legitimate detector which are present in network environment. The node credence level evaluation algorithm is planned to estimating each and every node authority range, whether the nodes have higher credence level basis efficient packet transmission in wireless nodes; otherwise, nodes have lesser credence level basis in effective packet broadcasting. These higher credence level nodes are assigned for communication process in movable network. It improves the throughput and minimizes the communication overhead. The performance metrics of the parameters are delay, communication overhead, throughput, network lifetime, energy consumption, and packet loss.

Abstract: In a sensor network, packet transmission is easy, but achieving an effective routing path is difficult. The packet information is modified by the intruder node. Initial node capacity is not monitored, so it does not filter out the individual status of each and every node in the routing path. It causes a network that utilizes more energy and minimum packet delivery ratio. This work has implemented the enhanced centrum path allotment-based shielded communication (ECSC) scheme to achieve the shielded packet broadcasting from the sender node to the destination node in the network environment. The quality of packet transmission is improved by using the spatial uniqueness node selection algorithm. It is designed to select the routing node based on its uniqueness; priority-based communication is carried out by the uniqueness process. It improves the packet delivery ratio and network lifetime. It also minimizes packet drop rate and end-to-end delay.

Abstract: The present work proposes to evaluate, compare, and determine software alternatives that present good detection performance and low computational cost for the plant segmentation operation in computer vision systems. In practical aspects, it aims to enable low-cost and accessible hardware to be used efficiently in real-time embedded systems for detecting seedlings in the agricultural environment. The analyses carried out in the study show that the process of separating and classifying plant seedlings is complex and depends on the capture scene, which becomes a real challenge when exposed to unstable conditions of the external environment without the use of light control or more specific hardware. These restrictions are driven by functionality and market perspective, aimed at low-cost and access to technology, resulting in limitations in processing, hardware, operating practices, and consequently possible solutions. Despite the difficulties and precautions, the experiments showed the most promising solutions for separation, even in situations such as noise and lack of visibility.

Abstract: Objectives. The study aim was to evaluate the empowerment of primary healthcare providers on the prevention and management of dental or oral health issues among postchemotherapy (PC) patients, in selected rural regions, India, during a pandemic. Methods. Initially, 240 PHPs were recruited by convenient and snow ball sampling with 90.3% response rate. A descriptive, cross-sectional study was adopted using a self-administered questionnaire with 5 sections: demographics, identification of dental/oral health issues, knowledge, attitude, and practice on prevention and management of dental/oral health problems in PC patients. Statistical Packages for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 23.0 was used for statistical analysis. Results. The overall knowledge was better among nurses (64.56%), followed by pharmacists (54.5%). 81.65% of PHPs were willing to learn more and expressed the need for collaboration with dentists. In the past 3 months, 18.81% of them had PC patients with dental/oral health issues, but only 3.5% of nurses and 0.8% of pharmacists treated them. The logistic regression model revealed higher scores in mucositis/mucosal pain (OR = 1.41), altered taste sensation (OR = 1.34), sensitive gums (OR = 1.71), and dental caries (OR = 1.32) domains ( p 〈 0.05 ). Those who had readiness to learn (OR = 5.37), nurses and pharmacists, and having less years of experience (OR = 1.31) and higher degree (OR = 1.4) had a positive attitude ( p 〈 0.05 ). Conclusion. PHPs had limited empowerment in terms of knowledge and practice but showed a positive attitude toward the prevention and management of dental/oral health issues of PC patients. For better practice, continuing education and collaboration with dental professionals is essential.

Abstract: In the present study, a hybrid cotton fabric with an enhanced ultraviolet (UV) shielding property was developed by coating with functionally activated nanocarbon (FACN) which was grafted by polyaniline (PANI) using in situ polymerization. In light of this, Teff hay biomass was used to establish the activated nanocarbon (ANC), that was subsequently given a surface functionalization using a silane coupling agent. Using the response surface (RSM) statistical analysis, the study was optimized for the weight percent of ANC and PANI with respect to the cotton fabric that was found to offer remarkable UV protection, with an ultraviolet protection factor (UPF) of 64.563, roughly 17 times more than that of primitive cotton (UPF = 3.7). The different characterization techniques, such as UV absorption, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), and thermal behavior studies were investigated. In addition, the basic textile properties on optimized hybrid material were found to be appreciably increased. The results suggested that activated FACN made from Teff hay could be an effective alternative organic source material for developing UV protective hybrid cotton fabrics.

Abstract: The main purpose of the work is to evaluate the deep machine learning algorithms used for the distinction between weeds and crop plants using the open database of images of the carrot garden. Precision farming methods are highly prevalent in the agricultural environment and can embed intelligent methods in drones and ground vehicles for real-time operation. In this work, the accuracy of the weed and crop segment is analyzed using two different frameworks of deep learning for the semantic segment: the fully convolutional network and the ResNet. An open database with images of 40 plants and weeds was used for the case study. The results show a global accuracy of more than 90% in the verification package for both structures. In the second experiment, new FCN networks were trained to evaluate the impact of these processes on different image preprocessing and separation performance by different training/testing rates of the dataset.
