Abstract:
Sometime around 1650, the astrologer John Gad‐bury cast a horoscope for John Milton, but we now have only the chart without any interpretation that Gadbury might have rendered. 1 With the help of the same kind of astrological texts available to Gadbury, I propose to interpret Milton's natal chart in the way that a Renaissance astrologer might. 2 Fortunately, I have the great advantage of hindsight, which shall play no small part in my “prediction” of what the future holds for John Milton.
