Abstract: A wildfire, an unplanned fire that is mainly uncontrolled and originates in combustible vegetation in rural or urban settings, is one of the most pervasive natural catastrophes in some areas, such as Siberia, California and Australia. Many studies, such as standard reviews, have been undertaken to look into the works of literature on wildfires or forest fires and their effects on aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. Regrettably, conventional literature reviews failed to identify the important researchers, evolving complexities, emerging research hotspots, trends and opportunities for further research on the ground of wildfire study. The present study employs bibliometric analysis to investigate this study area qualitatively and quantitatively. The Scopus database systems and Web of Science Core Collection yielded 78 qualifying papers, which were then evaluated using Biblioshiny (A bibliometrix tool of R-studio). According to the statistics, the discipline is expanding at a pace that is 13.68% faster than average. So far, three key periods of transformation have been documented: preliminary evolution (8 articles; 1999–2005), gentle evolution (14 articles; 2006–2013) and quick evolution (56 articles; 2014 to 2021). Forest Ecology and Management and Science journals have the highest number of publications, accounting for 7.70% of total wildfire-related articles published from 1999 to 2021. However, recent data indicate that investigators are shifting their focus to wildfires, with the term ‘Australia’ having the highest frequency (91) and ‘wildfire’ having the second highest (58) as the most appeared keywords. The present study will provide a foundation for future research on wildfire incidence and management by receiving information by synthesising previously published literature in Australia and around the world.

Abstract: Like most crops, sugarcane needs to be kept upright until it is harvested. The lodging of sugarcane has significant negative effects on the cane yield and sugar content of sugarcane. To keep sugarcane upright, earthing up is an essential in the cultural part of the operation. In Bangladesh, most of the sugarcane cultivation operations, including earthing-up, are generally performed in a traditional manual method which increases the production costs as well as reduces the income of sugarcane growers. Therefore, a cost-effective two-wheeled tractor (2WT)-mounted earthing-up machine was developed at the Bangladesh Sugarcrop Research Institute (BSRI), Pabna, to reduce drudgery and the cost of sugarcane production. Field tests were conducted in an experimental sugarcane field at BSRI and technical and economic performances of the developed earthing-up machine were also carried out based on the field test. The average effective field capacity and field efficiency of the earthing-up machine were found to be 0.16 ha/h and 77.41%, respectively. The 2WT-driven earthing-up machine was not found to be economically viable when it was used only for earthing-up operations. However, when the 2WT was used as the main driver for other activities, including earthing-up operation, the earthing-up machine became economically beneficial with net cash flow (NCF), net present value (NPV), internal rate of return (IRR), benefit–cost ratio (BCR), and payback period (PP) of BDT 148,497/ha, BDT 23,184, 3%, 3.81:1, and approximately 1 year, respectively. On the contrary, considering the cost of only earthing-up tool without 2WT, it was found to be economically beneficial with NCF, NPV, IRR, BCR, and PP of BDT 16,428/ha, BDT 3053, 4.7%, 2.71:1, and approximately 2 years, respectively. In Bangladesh, 2WT is commonly used for versatile farming purposes. Therefore, the versatile use of 2WT as a prime mover for other machines, including the earthing-up machine, can make earthing-up machine economically viable and beneficial for sugarcane growers in Bangladesh.

Abstract: Background: Ureteropelvic junction obstruction leads to progressive dilatation of the renal collecting system, and can result in pain and progressive deterioration of renal function but may be asymptomatic and result in complication such as pyelonephritis, calculus formation and deterioration of renal function may ensue if left untreated.Open pyeloplasty remains the gold standard against which new technique must be compared.we compared laparoscopic and open pyeloplasty in the treatment of pelviureteric junction obstruction. To see the outcome of laparoscopic pyeloplasty versus open A-H pyeloplasty in the management of pelviureteric junction obstruction. Methods and materials: A prospective quasi experimental study was done from july 2012 to December 2013 in which a total of 30 laparoscopic and 30 open pyeloplasty were done. All laparoscopic pyeloplasties were performed transperitoneally.Standard open A H pyeloplasty, spiral flap or VY plasty was done depending on anatomical consideration. Patients were followed with USG and IVU at three and six months interval.Perioperative parameters including operative time, analgesic use, hospital stay, and complication and success rates were compared. Results: Mean total operative time in LP group was 115±15 min compared to 75 ±15 in OP group, the postoperative analgesic requirement was sighnificantly less in LP group(mean 84.73±11mg) and OP group required mean of( 274.33±39.42mg).The mean blood loss in LP group was 118.26±110.74ml compared to open group 274.82±118.97ml.The postoperative hospital stay in LP was mean 4 days(2-7days) sighnificantly less than the open group mean of 8 days(7-9days). Conclusion: Lp has a minimal level of morbidity and short hospital stay compered to open approach.Although laparoscopic pyeloplasty has the disadvantages of longer operetive time and requires sighnificant skill of intracorporal knotting but it is here to stay and represents an emerging standard of care. Abstract: Background: Open pyeloplasty has been the gold standard for surgical treatment ofureteropelvic junction (UPJ) obstruction, enjoying a long-term success rate exceeding90%. Unfortunately, this procedure requires a muscle incision that entails some degreeof morbidity. We have, therefore, investigated the feasibility of laparoscopic pyeloplastyfor UPJ obstruction and report here the outcomes of our early cases. The median followupwas 21 months (range, 12–30 months). Objectives; The aim of our study was to explore the safety, feasibility and usefulness oflaparoscopic pyeloplasty and to assess the short- term outcome of patients treated withthis surgical approach. Materials and methods: This study was performed on 13 patients presenting withsymptomatic hydronephrosis, secondary to UPJ obstruction at the Department of Urology,Shahid Sheik Abu Naser Specialized Hospital, Khulna from January 2015 to June 2017.Patients having previous abdominal surgery and sepsis were excluded from this study.Laparoscopic dismembered Anderson–Hynes pyeloplasty was performed in all cases. All procedures were carried out transperitoneally. Results: All procedures were laparoscopically completed with no open conversion. Meanoperative time was 272.8 min (range, 175–480 min) and blood loss was minimum. Meanhospital stay was 4.5 days (range,4-11 days). Anomalous vessels were identified in 5patients. Post-operative complications were noted in two patients (15.4%): one instanceof prolonged urine leakage and one anastomotic re-stricture. Twelve of 13 ureters (92.3%)demonstrated a patent UPJ on excretory urography and split renal function and GFRwere significantly improved (p 〈 0.05) after surgery. Conclusions: Although the procedure requires advanced laparoscopic skills, it can besafely and successfully completed as frequently as the conventional open procedure.Laparoscopic pyeloplasty seems to be a valuable alternative to open pyeloplasty forUPJ obstruction. Abstract: Objective: To evaluate the results of renal function after percutaneous nephrostomy in hydronephrotic kidneys in adult population. Methods: This study was performed on 57 patients of more than 18 years of age with hydronephrosis due to PUJ obstruction and split renal function 〈 10% at the Department of Urology, Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Patients with concomitant pathologies like stone, pyonephrosis and VUJ obstruction were excluded from the study. Their evaluation included split renal function (SRF),glomerular filtration rate (GFR),specific gravity of urine draining through nephrostomy tube, volume of urine through nephrostomy tube. Statistical analysis was performed by SPSS version 13 and the test statistics used to analyse the data were descriptive statistics and Repeated measure ANOVA. Results: Mean age of the patients was 33.4+13.0 years, mean SRF increased from 6.2% at baseline to 18.6% after 6 weeks of PCN (p 〈 0.001), mean GFR increased from 6.2 ml/min/1.73 sq-meter at baseline to 18.6 ml/min/1.73 sq-meter at the end of week 6,mean specific gravity of urine significantly increased from 1.009 at baseline to 1.019 after 6 weeks, volume of urine at 2nd week was 316 ml/ 24 hours and nearly 363 ml/ 24 hours after 6 weeks of PCN (p 〈 0.001).GFR and SRF improved in 78.95% case Conclusions: Most of the poorly functioning hydronephrotic kidneys showed functional improvement following PCN and hence not all such kidneys should be removed without subjecting them to a trial of PCN. Abstract: Seam strength plays a very important role in acquiring the desired quality seam which ultimately defines the quality of any clothing. The paper is aimed to study the strength of seam produced from denim fabric, how different sewing parameters like sewing thread type, type of seam, seam direction as well as the density of stitches influence the strength of seam, and it is observed that they have direct effect on lockstitch seam strength of denim fabric with various degree. For research denim fabric with 3/1 weaves structure and three different sewing threads namely 100% cotton spun with 14tex linear density, 100% polyester spun with 24tex and 60tex linear density were used. Seam class used for the research was superimposed seam prepared with two layers, SSa and three layers, SSb. The samples were made by stitching with lockstitch sewing machine both in warp and weft way. Three different stitch densities were used to sew the samples and they were-7, 9 and 11 stitches per inch. The strength of the produced seams was tested on a universal strength tester machine-the titan tensile strength tester. Test was performed according to ASTM D5034 test method. The outcome of the research shows that seam type, seam direction, thread types, and stitch density have direct effect on lockstitch seam strength of denim fabric with various degrees. Higher seam strength was obtained for the SSb type seam produced in warp direction with coarser sewing thread (60tex) and 11 stitches per inch (SPI). The influence of independent variables on the seam strength was assessed statistically using a multivariate variance analysis (ANOVA) with the help of SPSS software and it was found that they effect significantly. Regression analysis was done to develop the regression equation to predict lockstitch seam strength before production process.

Abstract: Background: Urolithiasis is one of the most prevalent urological disorders and the prevalence of urinary stones has increased world wide1. The management of urinary calculi was revolutionized by the introduction of extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy (ESWL) in 1980 and the first successful ESWL treatment was accomplished in Germany by Dr. Christian Chaussy using a Dornier HM1 lithotripter. ESWL is a safe, effective and non-invasive method2.Purpose: To observe the outcome of pushback stenting and ESWL versus in situ ESWL for upper ureteric stone.Materials and methods: It was a quasi-experimental study. The study was under went in the department of urology, Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, between July'2012 to June'2014. Total 60 patients of single upper ureteric stone who satisfy inclusion and exclusion criteria were enrolled in this study. Selected patients were dived into two groups, group A and group B. Group-A for pushback stenting and ESWL and group-B for in situ ESWL. Results were compared in terms of clearance rates, number of shock waves, sessions, incidence of complications and failure rate. Results: Failure of ESWL was significantly higher in Group B (23.33%) than Group A (10%). These results were statistically significant. Conclusion: Pushback stenting and ESWL is better than in situ ESWL for upper ureteric stone.KYAMC Journal Vol. 8, No.-1, Jul 2017, Page 4-9

Abstract: Spatiotemporal rainfall trend analysis as an indicator of climatic change provides critical information for improved water resource planning. However, the spatiotemporal changing behavior of rainfall is much less understood in a tropical monsoon-dominated country like Bangladesh. To this end, this research aims to analyze spatiotemporal variations in rainfall for the period 1980–2020 over Bangladesh at seasonal and monthly scales using MAKESENS, the Pettitt test, and innovative trend analysis. Multilayer Perception (MLP) neural network was used to predict the next 8 years' rainfall changes nationally in Bangladesh. To investigate the spatial pattern of rainfall trends, the inverse distance weighting model was adopted within the ArcGIS environment. Results show that mean annual rainfall is 2432.6 mm, of which 57.6% was recorded from July to August. The Mann–Kendall trend test reveals that 77% of stations are declining, and 23% have a rising trend in the monthly rainfall. More than 80% of stations face a declining trend from November to March and August. There is a declining trend for seasonal rainfall at 82% of stations during the pre-monsoon, 75% during the monsoon, and 100% during the post-monsoon. A significant decline trend was identified in the north-center during the pre-monsoon, the northern part during the monsoon, and the southern and northwestern portions during the post-monsoon season. Predicted rainfall by MLP till 2030 suggests that there will be little rain from November to February, and the maximum fluctuating rainfall will occur in 2025 and 2027–2029. The ECMWF ERA5 reanalysis data findings suggested that changing rainfall patterns in Bangladesh may have been driven by rising or reducing convective precipitation rates, low cloud cover, and inadequate vertically integrated moisture divergence. Given the shortage of water resources and the anticipated rise in water demand, the study's findings have some implications for managing water resources in Bangladesh.
