Abstract:
Strontium (Sr)‐doped (Pb 1– z Sr z ) 0.375 (Nb 0.75 Mo 0.25 )O 3 (PSNM), where z = 0.00, 0.03, 0.05, 0.07, has been synthesized by a solid‐solution mixing technique. Some aspects of structure of the compound at room temperature were studied using an X‐ray diffraction (XRD) technique. Dielectric studies (dielectric constant ( ϵ ) and dielectric loss (tan δ )) obtained both as a function of frequency (100 Hz to 100 kHz) at room temperature (RT) and temperature (RT – 500 K) at 10 kHz suggest that compounds undergo a ferroelectric–paraelectric phase transition of the diffuse type. The activation energy ( E a ) of the samples was calculated from the plot of ac conductivity versus the inverse of absolute temperature. The activation energy ( E a ) of all the doped compounds was found to be very low. (© 2007 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
