    Abstract: To explore the origin of glassy transition and glass-forming abilities (GFAs) of transition metal-transition metal (TM-TM) alloys from the microstructural point of view, a series of molecular dynamics (MD) simulation for the rapid solidification processes of liquid Cu56Zr44alloys at various cooling rates and pressures P are performed by using a LAMPS program. On the basis of Honeycutt-Andersen (H-A) bond-type index (ijkl), we propose an extended cluster-type index (Z, n/(ijkl)) method to characterize and analyze the microstructures of the alloy melts as well as their evolution in the rapid solidification. It is found that the majority of local atomic configurations in the rapidly solidified alloy are (12 12/1551) icosahedra, as well as (12 8/1551 2/1541 2/1431) and (12 2/1441 8/1551 2/1661) defective icosahedra, but no relationship can be seen between their number N(300 m K) and the glassy transition temperature Tg of rapidly solidified Cu56Zr44alloys. By an inverse tracking of atom trajectories from low temperatures to high temperatures the configuration heredity of icosahedral clusters in liquid is discovered to be an intrinsic feature of rapidly solidified alloys; the onset of heredity merely emerges in the super-cooled liquid rather than the initial alloy melt. Among these the (12 12/1551) standard icosahedra inherited from the super-cooled liquids at Tm-Tg is demonstrated to play a key role in the formation of Cu56Zr44 glassy alloys. Not only is their number N300 KTgP inherited from Tg to 300 K closely related to the GFA of rapidly solidified Cu56Zr44alloys, but a good correspondence of the onset temperatures of heredity (Tonset) with the reduced glass transition temperature (Trg= Tg/Tm) can be also observed. As for the influence of and P on the glassy transition, a continuous tracking of descendible icosahedra reveals that the high GFA of rapidly solidified Cu56Zr44 alloys caused by big and P can be attributed to their elevated inheritable fraction (fp and ftotal) above Tg.

    Abstract: A finite element analysis (FEA) model was proposed to predict the behavior of concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST) columns at overall stage of fire combined load based on ABAQUS. The whole stage includes initial loading, heating, cooling and post-fire phases. Accurate thermal and material model, element type, and solution method were chosen reasonably in the model considering the temperature and combined load. Due to lacking of test data about multi-phase of fires, the FEA model was verified with tests at different stages respectively. Some experimental specimens under different thermal and mechanical conditions were modeled using the FEA model, and the results obtained have good agreement with the experimental results. The mechanism of the CFST columns after exposure to overall stage of fire was also investigated based on the model.

    Abstract: A 3-D finite element model (FEM) using ABAQUS was introduced in this paper to simulate the post-fire behavior of composite frames with concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST) columns and steel beam with reinforced concrete slab. Accurate thermal and material model, element type, and solution method were assumed in the model considering the temperature effect during the fire. Some composite joint specimen post-fire tests were modeled using the FEM. The results obtained from the FEM were verified against those experimental results. The mechanism of the composite frame was investigated based on the FEM.

    Abstract: Tranexamic acid (TXA) has shown significant reductions in blood loss and transfusion rates in total knee arthroplasty (TKA). However, the optimal administration route continues to be debated. The aim of this trial was to compare the effectiveness of intravenous (IV) versus peri-articular injection (PAI) application of tranexamic acid in patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty. Methods We conducted a randomized controlled, double-blinded study. A total of 93 patients undergoing primary unilateral TKA were randomly distributed between 2 groups: the IV group (47 cases; 1 g TXA IV) and the PAI group (46 cases; 1 g TXA injected peri-articularly). The amount of total and hidden blood loss (HBL), drainage, transfusion rate, hemoglobin and hematocrit drift, and complications were recorded. Results Peri-articular injection of TXA reduced total blood loss ( P 〈 0.001) and HBL more than IV use of TXA ( P 〈 0.001). No patients in either group received a transfusion. No symptomatic deep venous thrombosis or other severe complications occurred. Conclusion Peri-articular injection of TXA significantly reduced total blood loss and hidden blood loss to a greater degree than IV injection in total knee arthroplasty without reduction of drainage volume.     Abstract: The current criteria for defining the recurrence risks of stage II colorectal cancer (CRC) are not robust; therefore, we aimed to explore novel gene signatures to predict recurrence risks and to reveal the underlying mechanisms of stage II CRC. First, the gene expression profiles of 124 patients with stage II CRC from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database were obtained to screen differentially expressed genes (DEGs). A total of 202 DEGs, including 128 upregulated and 74 downregulated, were identified in the recurrence group (n = 24) compared to the nonrecurrence group (n = 100). Furthermore, the top 5 DEGs ( ZNF561 , WFS1 , SLC2A1 , MFI2 , and PTGR1 ) were identified by random forest variable hunting, and four ( ZNF561 , WFS1 , SLC2A1 , and PTGR1 ) were selected to create a four‐gene recurrent model (GRM), with an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.882 according to the receiver operating characteristic curve, and the robust diagnostic effectiveness of the GRM was further validated with another gene expression profiling dataset (GSE12032), with an AUC of 0.943. The diagnostic effectiveness of the GRM regarding recurrence was associated with poor disease‐free survival in all stages of CRC. In addition, gene ontology functional annotation and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway enrichment analyses revealed 18 enriched functions and 6 enriched pathways. Four genes, ABCG2 , CACNA1F , CYP19A1 , and TF , were identified as hub genes by the protein‐protein interaction network, which further validated that these genes were correlated with a poor pathologic stage and overall survival in all stages of CRC. In conclusion, the GRM can effectively classify stage II CRC into groups of high and low risks of recurrence, thereby making up for the prognostic value of the traditional clinicopathological risk factors defined by the National Comprehensive Cancer Network guidelines. The hub genes may be useful therapeutic targets for recurrence. Thus, the GRM and hub genes could offer clinical value in directing individualized and precision therapeutic regimens for stage II CRC patients.

    Abstract: Ovarian cancer (OC) is one of the malignant diseases of the reproductive system in elderly women. Aging-related genes (ARGs) were involved in tumor malignancy and cellular senescence, but the specifics of these mechanisms in OC remain unknown. Methods:: ARGs expression and survival data of OC patients were collected from TCGA and CPTAC databases. Subtype classification was used to identify the roles of hub ARGs in OC progression, including function enrichment, immune infiltration, and drug sensitivity. LASSO regression was utilized to confirm the prognosis significance for these hub ARGs. MTT, EdU, Transwell, and wounding healing analysis confirmed the effect of IGFBP5 on the proliferation and migration ability of OC cells. Results:: ARGs were ectopically expressed in OC tissues compared to normal ovary tissues. Three molecular subtypes were divided by ARGs for OC patients. There were significant differences in ferroptosis, m6A methylation, prognosis, immune infiltration, angiogenesis, differentiation level, and drug sensitivity among the three groups. LASSO regression indicated that 4 signatures, FOXO4, IGFBP5, OGG1 and TYMS, had important prognosis significance. Moreover, IGFBP5 was significantly correlated with immune infiltration. The hub ARG, IGFBP5, expression was significantly decreased in OC patients compared to normal women. IGFBP5 could also reduce the migration and proliferation ability of OC cells compared to vector and NC groups. Conclusion:: IGFBP5 was correlated with OC prognosis and associated with OC migration and proliferation. This gene may serve as potential prognostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets for OC patients.

    Abstract: Areas with low, adequate and excessive I content in water co-exist in China. Limited data are currently available on I nutrition and thyroid disease in lactating women and their breast-fed infants with different I intakes. This study aimed to evaluate I nutrition in both lactating women and their infants and the prevalence of thyroid disease in areas with different levels of I in water. From January to June 2014, a total of 343 healthy lactating women (excluding those taking anti-thyroid drugs or I supplements within a year of the study, consuming seafood at the time of the study or those diagnosed with congenital thyroid disease) from Beihai in Guangxi province and Jiajiazhuang, Yangcheng, Jicun and Pingyao townships in Shanxi province were selected. Compared with the I-sufficient group, median urinary I concentrations in both lactating women and infants as well as breast milk I levels were significantly lower in the I-deficient group ( P 〈 0·001). The prevalence of thyroid disease in lactating women, particularly subclinical hypothyroidism, was higher in the I-excess group than in the I-sufficient group ( P 〈 0·05). In areas with excessive water I content, high thyroid peroxidase antibody and high thyroglobulin levels were risk factors for abnormal thyroid-stimulating hormone levels. Our data collectively suggest that excessive I intake potentially causes subclinical hypothyroidism in lactating women. Moreover, enhanced monitoring of I status is important to avoid adverse effects of I deficiency or excess, particularly in susceptible populations such as pregnant or lactating women and infants.
