As countries have reported a sharp rise in mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, sleep disorder, and fear, among their people, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic creates a psycho emotional chaotic situation. Several countries have taken steps or already graduating healthcare professional students early to support professional resources due to the rapid increase in COVID-19 patients and the shortage of health care professionals] 4[.The aim of the study was to determine the psychological impact of the COVID-19 on the King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences students in Al-ahsa. Method: Psychological impact of COVID-19 pandemic among KSAU-HS students in Alahsa-Saudi Arabia assessed by the questionnaire. Kurzfassung: Dysfunctional breathing (DB) is a disabling condition which affects the biomechanical breathing pattern and is challenging to diagnose. It affects individuals in many circumstances, including those without underlying disease who may even be athletic in nature. DB can also aggravate the symptoms of those with established heart or lung conditions. However, it is treatable and individuals have much to gain if it is recognized appropriately. Here we consider the role of cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) in the identification and management of DB. Specifically, we have described the diagnostic criteria and presenting symptoms. We explored the physiology and pathophysiology of DB and physiological consequences in the context of exercise. We have provided examples of its interplay with co-morbidity in other chronic diseases such as asthma, pulmonary hypertension and left heart disease. We have discussed the problems with the current methods of diagnosis and proposed how CPET could improve this. We have provided guidance on how CPET can be used for diagnosis, including consideration of pattern recognition and use of specific data panels. We have considered categorization, e.g., predominant breathing pattern disorder or acute or chronic hyperventilation. We have explored the distinction from gas exchange or ventilation/perfusion abnormalities and described other potential pitfalls, such as false positives and periodic breathing. We have also illustrated an example of a clinical pathway utilizing CPET in the diagnosis and treatment of individuals with suspected DB.

Kurzfassung: Introduction and Aim: Occupational Therapy (OT) is a health care profession in which assist persons with physical, mental, or cognitive impairments through the therapeutic use of daily activities. In addition, the therapeutic use of everyday life activities (occupations) is aimed to enable the individual or groups to involve them in roles, customs and routines in home, college, place of business, society, and other settings by occupational therapist [1]. OT considers the only health care profession that enables people to do the activities they want and important for them via the therapeutic use of everyday activities [2] . Occupational therapists capacitate people of all ages to assist them by enhancing their health and inhibiting or adjusting with the injury, illness, or disability [3]. The aim of the study is to evaluate the knowledge of Occupational Therapy among healthcare professionals of National Guard Health Affairs in Al-Ahsa. Method: The study is cross-sectional study; the research was conducted in National Guard Health Affairs in Al-Ahsa. The healthcare provider’s knowledge about OT was assessed by the survey. The questionnaire consisted of seventy-five closed statements in five different aspects. The five-point Likert Scale (1=strongly disagree and 5=strongly agree) was used to measure the healthcare provider’s knowledge about OT. Results: The total numbers of participants were 218 participants, and 167 participants completed the survey showing a high response rate of 76.6%. The study found that the total knowledge among healthcare professionals about OT is moderate. Conclusion: The healthcare professionals of National Guard Health Affairs in Al-Ahsa have a moderate to minimal knowledge about OT. Further studies are needed on the importance of developing OT in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in general and in Al-Ahsa in particular.

Kurzfassung: Introduction and Aim: Fall it is an accident that unintentionally breaks down a person on the floor, the surface of the earth, or any other low level. The goal of this study was to estimate the prevalence of falls among the elderly and investigate the factors that contribute to this study. Method: The study design was quantitative, descriptive that surveyed for elderly risk of fall and their caregivers, using google form. The study was conducted by a two questionnaire type assessment, 8 questions were used to assess each questionnaire, using fall efficacy scale International with four options (not at all concerned, somewhat concerned, fairly concerned, very concerned), and using Modified Barthel index scale with thee options (No, complete dependence, yes, partially assist, and independence). Result: People who are 65 Years old and above were 140 participated in the study. In Barthel index study about (32.9% - 52.1%) was independence, and about (29.3% - 48.6%) were need partial assist, and about (18.6% - 36.4%) were complete dependence. In fall efficacy scale about (6.4% - 42.9%) were not at all concerned, and about (12.9% - 31.4%) were somewhat concerned, and about (12.9% - 29.3%) were fairly concerned, and about (12.9% - 57.1%) were very concerned. Kurzfassung: The use of tele-rehabilitation (TR) in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) following COVID-19 infection remains unexplored. Hence, the purpose of this study was to determine the clinical effects of tele-physical therapy (TPT) on T2DM following COVID-19 infection. The eligible participants were randomized into two groups, a tele-physical therapy group (TPG; n = 68) and a control group (CG; n = 68). The TPG received tele-physical therapy for four sessions a week for eight weeks, and the CG received patient education for 10 min. The outcome measures were HbA1c levels, pulmonary function (forced expiratory volume in the first second (FEV1), forced vital capacity (FVC), FEV1/FVC, maximum voluntary ventilation (MVV), and peak exploratory flow (PEF)), physical fitness, and quality of life (QOL). The difference between the groups in HbA1c levels at 8 weeks was 0.26 (CI 95% 0.02 to 0.49), which shows greater improvement in the tele-physical therapy group than the control group. Similar changes were noted between the two groups after 6 months and at 12 months resulting in 1.02 (CI 95% 0.86 to 1.17). The same effects were found in pulmonary function (FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC, MVV, and PEF), physical fitness, and QOL (p = 0.001). The reports of this study show that tele-physical therapy programs may result in improved glycemic control and improve the pulmonary function, physical fitness, and quality of life of T2DM patients following COVID-19 infection.
