    Abstract: The need for stress management strategies has been empirically investigated and supported considering demands in workplaces. However, some people in public offices do not seem to have been exposed to occupational health strategies that could reduce the adverse impacts of stress on job productivity and quality of life. Consequently, they become susceptible to mental health disturbances requiring the attention of occupational therapists. Given this, we studied the impact of occupational health coaching for job stress management among technical college teachers. Methods: Using a randomized control design study, 90 technical college teachers were screened and ready to participate. The eligible teachers were included and assigned to intervention and control groups. An occupational stress index was given to the participants before, immediately after, and 2 months after the delivery of occupational coaching program by career counselors while the comparison group received no intervention. Data collected were analyzed using multivariate analysis of variance analysis. Results: The results showed a significant improvement in the management of job stress after receiving rational emotive occupational health coaching. According to the multivariate analysis of variance analysis, there were between-group differences immediately after the intervention and 3 months later. As a result, the study suggested that career counselors and school management systems should incorporate rational-emotive behavioral therapy into workforce and workplace programs.

    Abstract: BACKGROUND: The desacralization of nature, the resultant effect of which is evident in multiple environmental issues, has become a global concern. The subtle, yet insidious poisoning of the food-chain, the chemical burdening of the nature cycle, the increasing volume of air pollution, the greenhouse effect with the attendant global warming, climate change, flash floods, and so on, are the echoes of the murderous attacks on nature. At the centre of this destruction is the human species, whose unguarded actions against nature especially in his violent movements from the biosphere to the technosphere, stifles the ecosystemic homeostasis. Yet, development demands that man must necessarily move from nature to culture wherein the destruction of nature is inevitable. METHODOLOGY: The study used a qualitative design. The methods used were historical, descriptive, and critical. The historical method was used to trace the submissions of varied literatures on nature-culture relationships. RESULTS: Using the qualitative research design, thereby applying the historical, descriptive and evaluative methodological approaches, and reclining on the Risk Society Theory of Ulrich Beck as well as the Ecological Modernisation Theory of Arthur J.P Mol, we would like to establish that the attainment of sustainable environmental protection and management in the society would largely depend on the maintenance of a respectful balance between cultural superimpositions and natural landscapes in the contemporary society. RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that all developmental projects must be subjected to, and pass through environmental protection and sustainability censorship and tests. This will help to create reasonable and reconciliatory boundaries between nature and culture for a balanced human environment.

    Abstract: The study investigated the interaction effect gender on academic procrastination and achievement orientation among in-school adolescents. The study adopted a pretest posttest non-equivalent control group quasi-experimental design with a population of 804 SS II students (518 female and 286 males). The sample size of 129 SS II students from Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State was drawn through purposive sampling technique. Procrastination Assessment Scale for Students (PASS) and Achievement Orientation Questionnaire (AOQ) were used for data collection. Confirmatory factor analysis was used to validate the measures. Internal consistency reliability coefficients of 0.69 and 0.87 for PASS and AOQ were estimated through Cronbach alpha. Mean and standard deviation were used to answer the research questions while ANCOVA and t-test were used to test the hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. It was found that gender does not significantly have effect on in-school adolescents’ academic procrastination and achievement orientation. The researchers recommended that among others that the government at all levels should employ competent educational psychologists/psychotherapists and provide enabling environment and facilities for regular cognitive behavioural change programme for in-school adolescents who may be facing problems with academic procrastination. More so, government agencies and professional bodies whose responsibility is to design and revise curriculum for secondary schools should incorporate and emphasize the use of rational emotive behavioural therapy in secondary schools.

    Abstract: In a society such as Belgium, most Igbo migrants of the 1990s soon became immigrants without papers. It was only after regularization campaigns (as in January 2000 in Belgium) that a significant number of them could be regularized to stay. This means that most of them had a very diffcult time in the first years of their stay in Europe. This can best be described as a situation of anonymous liminality. That is the moment when Christianity and their cosmology enter their life in Europe. These help them in their self-rediscovery and reappraisal, as well as in their social reconnection. Liminality, traditional Igbo cosmology, an ethnicity profoundly mitigated by Christianity, and transnationalism are the four basic ideas for an understanding of the life practices of Igbo migrants in a Western society since the 1990s.
