    Abstract: The problems in culture of early juvenile phase of spiny lobster Panulirus homarus is low survival rate of the seed. One of strategies to improve production is using filtration system during nursery of spiny lobster. The aim of this study to evaluate differentation of physical filtration system on responsse stress and survival rate of juvenile P. homarus. Experimental design of this study consisted of four treatments and two replications. The treatments were using flow through system without protein skimmer and filter (K), filtration system with protein skimmer (SK), filtration system with top filter (F) and filtration system with combinations of protein skimmer and top filter (SKF). P. homarus with initial weight 0.18+0.01 g were cultured for 60 days with density 250 lobster/tank. During maintenance, P. homarus were fed trash fish with feeding rate 20% of body weight. Parameters of glucose hemolymph were evaluated to determine stress response. Stress response was determined at day 0, 6, 20 and 60. Parameters of survival rate were determined at the end of experiment. The result showed that the treatment of filtration system with combination of protein skimmer and top filter (SKF) decreased stress responsse by decreasing glucose hemolymph of juvenile P. homarus during maintenance. Survival rate also higher (P 〈 0.05) in treatment SKF (33.2%) than other treatments.     Abstract: This research was conducted to assess the physiological response of the lobster Panulirus homarus for the ratio of the shelters. The method used completely randomized design with two replicates of each treatments with shelter ratio (A) 1 : 5, (B) 3 : 5, (C) 4 : 5, (D) 5 : 5. Weight average for 184 lobsters with the stocking density of 23 lobsters for each treatment was 32.64 ± 0.58 g. The experiment was conducted for 60 days. The lobster was fed with trash fish and acclimatized for 7 days before the experiment. Observations on the physiologycal of every 10 days. The physiological responses that observed were total hemocyte count (THC) and hemolymph glucose concentration. The results showed that 4:5 was the best lobster shelter ratio because it could reduce stress levels. This is indicated by the stable values of THC and hemolymph glucose level during the experiment and supported by the growth of 57.28 ± 0.15 g and survival rate of 91.31 ± 2.60%. Keywords: lobster, Panulirus homarus, ratio, shelter, THC, glucose

    Abstract: The bacterial community plays a pivotal role in the quality of water sources for aquaculture activities, affecting the survival of cultured animals. In the present study, bacteria inhabiting seawater in Mataram were analyzed using culturable and unculturable analysis. Total bacteria cultured in SWC (seawater complete) medium had an abundance of 4.5 × 10 7 CFU mL -1 . Nitrifying, denitrifying, and DNRA (dissimilative nitrate reduction to ammonium) bacteria were found in an abundance of 1.15 × 10 7 CFU mL -1 , 7.7 × 10 6 CFU mL -1 , and 5.6 × 10 6 CFU mL -1 , respectively. Analysis of total bacteria performed by the Illumina MiSeq platform using the V3–V4 hypervariable regions of 16S rRNA gene indicated that the majority of the bacterial sequences related to Proteobacteria (84.2%), followed by Firmicutes (10.2%), Acidobacteria (1.5%), Bacteroidetes (1.4%), and Chloroflexi (1%). Family Piscirickettsiaceae , belonging to the order Thriotrichales, was observed as the most prevalent group accounting for 20.9%. In this study, Proteobacteria, the most common phylum, was dominated by Gammaproteobacteria. At the genus level, Alteromonas, Marinobacterium , and Methylophaga appeared as the top three prevalent groups inhabiting seawater in Mataram. Meanwhile, the top five bacterial species in seawater were Alteromonas bacterium, Methylophaga sp., Nautella italic, Ruegeria mobilis , and Pseudoalteromonas phenolica .

    Abstract: The Government of Indonesia has determined Lake Toba be one of the super-priority tourist destinations. In order to realize the program, the government has recently been more aggressively structuring the Lake Toba area. One of the arrangements is to lift and reduce the number of floating net cages (FNC) so that fish production is gradually reduced from 70,000 tons to 10,000 tons per year in 2023. The FNC arrangement activity caused restlessness among FNC actors because they had to drastically reduce their production or even close their business, which would be detrimental to thousands of local FNC actors. This continued situation will be related to disrupting their main source of livelihood. This study aims to analyze the Governor of North Sumatra Decree. The method used is the survey method, collecting socio-economic data directly, focus group discussions/FGD with the parties involved. Then the regulation was analyzed using the RIA method. This analysis proposes three alternative options: business, implementing the Governor's Decree No. 188.44/2013/KPTS/2017, revising the Governor's Decree with a carrying capacity of 42,000 tons/year aquaculture. It is proposed to revise the Governor's Decree.

    Abstract: Organic carbon source and C/N ratio play an important role in aquaculture system with biofloc technology application. Nitrogen control by adding carbohydrates to the water to stimulate heterotrophic bacterial growth by converting nitrogen into bacterial biomass. The study investigated the effect molasses, tapioca, tapioca by product and rice bran as carbon sources in a biofloc media at three different C/N ratios i.e. 10, 15, and 20 on total ammonia reduction in biofloc media. Five liters of biofloc media in a conical tank was prepared for each replicate, which consisted of 500 mL of biofloc suspension collected from a shrimp culture unit with biofloc technology application and 4.5 L seawater. Pacific white shrimp culture was performed in 40L glass aquaria at a shrimp density of 30/aquarium. There was a significant interaction between carbon source and the C/N ratio applied (P 〈 0.05). The use of molasses resulted in the highest reduction rate irrespective to the C/N ratio. Keywords: molasses, tapioca, tapioca by product, rice bran, biofloc, total ammonia nitrogen

    Abstract: This study aims to develop a strategy for the sustainability of shrimp aquaculture using an ecosystem approach or EAA in Pinrang Regency, South Sulawesi. A series of analyzes were carried out, namely the environmental carrying capacity analysis of aquaculture using pond environmental feasibility standards, analysis of critical factors for the sustainability of aquaculture using multidimensional scaling analysis, analysis of the sustainability status of aquaculture using pairwise comparison analysis and analysis of shrimp aquaculture management strategies based on EAA. using hierarchy process analysis. The results showed that the following strategies were needed: a) accelerating spatial planning and implementing programs in accordance with the directions for spatial use and control; b) institutional strengthening of capital cultivators in order to complement and improve facilities and infrastructure in accordance with the SOP; and c) increasing the level of education and providing a social and economic security system for members of the shrimp farming community

    Abstract: 〈 p 〉 ABSTRACT 〈 /p 〉 〈 p 〉 〈 br / 〉 Growth rate of pearl goldfish juvenile Carassius auratus relatively slow to reach market size which will take approximately three months. To accelerate its growth can be done by providing exposure of the fish to low-power electric fields (10 V) via 3 ppt salinity water, with the goal of providing the close isoosmotic conditions, and also to streamline the flow of electricity from the electrodes to the body of the fish. This study aims to calculate the survival and growth rate of pearl goldfish juvenile of S sizes (2‒4 cm of body length) which were maintained at 3 ppt salinity water and treated by different exposure time of electric field (zero, two, four, and six minutes before feeding) with 10 volt electric power. Fish were cultured at a density of 2 fish/L in the (20×30×20 cm3) aquaria in volume of 6 L of water. Test fish had an average body length of 4.11±0.05 cm and the average body weight of 2.89±0.05 g. Exposure time of electric field were zero, two, four, and six minutes before the fish are fed, performed every day as much as three times i.e. morning, afternoon, and evening. The research design used was completely randomized design with four treatments, namely 0, 2, 4, and 6 (time for exposure is zero/control, two, four, and six minute) with three replications. The results show test fishes exposed to 10 volt electrical field for zero, two, four, and six minutes, have no significant effect on survival rate (P & gt;0.05). For growth performance, four minute exposure treatment gives the best results compared to controls (P & lt;0.05), supported by an increase in the percentage of the ratio of gut length to body length of the fish and higher feed efficiency. 〈 br / 〉 Keywords: long exposure to the electric field, growth performance, pearl goldfish 〈 /p 〉 〈 p 〉 〈 br / 〉 ABSTRAK 〈 /p 〉 〈 p 〉 〈 br / 〉 Pertumbuhan benih ikan hias maskoki mutiara Carassius auratus relatif lambat, karena untuk mencapai ukuran jual memerlukan waktu sekitar tiga bulan. Untuk mempercepat pertumbuhannya dapat dilakukan dengan pemberian paparan medan listrik berdaya rendah (10 V) ke air media budidaya yang dinaikkan salinitasnya menjadi 3 ppt, dengan tujuan memberikan kondisi mendekati isoosmotik, dan juga untuk mengefektifkan arus listrik dari elektroda ke tubuh ikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghitung tingkat kelangsungan hidup dan pertumbuhan benih ikan maskoki mutiara ukuran S (2‒4 cm) yang dipelihara pada media bersalinitas 3 ppt yang diberi perlakuan lama waktu pemaparan medan listrik (nol, dua, empat, dan enam menit sebelum ikan diberi pakan) dengan daya 10 volt. Ikan dipelihara dengan kepadatan 2 ekor/L dalam akuarium berukuran 20×30×20 cm3 dengan volume air 6 L. Ikan uji yang digunakan memiliki panjang rata-rata 4,11±0,05 cm dan bobot rata-rata 2,89±0,05 g/ekor. Pemberian paparan medan listrik dilakukan selama nol, dua, empat, dan enam menit sebelum ikan diberi pakan, dilakukan setiap hari sebanyak tiga kali yaitu pagi, siang, dan sore hari. Rancangan penelitian terdiri atas empat perlakuan, yaitu 0, 2, 4, dan 6 (lama paparan nol/kontrol, dua, empat, dan enam menit) yang diulang masing-masing tiga kali ulangan. Hasil pemaparan arus listrik 10 volt selama nol, dua, empat, dan enam menit, tidak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata pada kelangsungan hidup (p & gt;0,05). Untuk kinerja pertumbuhan, perlakuan paparan empat menit memberikan hasil yang terbaik dibandingkan kontrol (p & lt;0,05), didukung oleh peningkatan persentase nilai rasio panjang usus terhadap panjang tubuh ikan serta nilai efisiensi pakan yang lebih tinggi. 〈 /p 〉 〈 p 〉 〈 br / 〉 Kata kunci: lama paparan medan listrik, kinerja pertumbuhan, ikan maskoki mutiara 〈 /p 〉

Technology such as remote sensing and geographic information systems (GIS) were regarded as good solutions for site selection to increase seaweed culture. The aim of this study was to analyze suitable location for seaweed culture at Gerupuk Bay, West Nusa Tenggara. The site selection used Landsat 8 satellite with sea surface temperature (SST), total suspended matter (TSM), and protected location as the parameters. Each parameters were processed using Er Mapper 7.0 software and then Arcview GIS 3.2 software to create the thematic GIS map. Site selection for seaweed culture could be determined by maps overlay technique. Teknologi berupa penginderaan jauh (inderaja) dan sistem informasi geografis (SIG) menjadi solusi yang baik dalam penentuan lokasi yang sesuai untuk pengembangan budidaya rumput laut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesesuaian lokasi budidaya rumput laut perairan Teluk Gerupuk, Nusa Tenggara Barat. Penentuan kesesuaian lokasi budidaya rumput laut menggunakan citra satelit Landsat 8 dengan parameter suhu permukaan laut (SPL), muatan padatan tersuspensi (MPT), dan keterlindungan. Parameter tersebut diolah menggunakan perangkat lunak Er Mapper 7.0 kemudian dilakukan pengolahan SIG menggunakan perangkat lunak Arcview GIS 3.2 sehingga dihasilkan peta tematik. Peta tematik tersebut ditumpang susun sehingga dihasilkan peta kesesuaian lokasi budidaya rumput laut.     Abstract: 〈 p 〉 ABSTRACT 〈 /p 〉 〈 p 〉 Molting phase is one of many factors that can inhibit mudcrab growth. Recirculation system in culturing mudcrab has a weakness which is the decreasing of ions. Calcium and magnesium in the water can affect the molting phase. The aim of this study was to evaluate the best additional frequency of calcium and magnesium in recirculation system. This research used mudcrab seeds that have weight of 54.856±2.195 gram. This research used completely randomized design with four treatments and three replicates. The treatments were additional frequency of Ca and Mg, comprised of four levels, without additional Ca and Mg (A), additional 30 mg/L Ca and 30 mg/L Mg in every five days (B), additional 30 mg/L Ca, and 30 mg/L Mg in every 10 days (C), and additional 30 mg/L Ca and 30 mg/L Mg in every 15 days (D). The result showed that total of biomass in every treatments were A (379.99±86.16 gram), B (517.65±103.94 gram), C (808.68±59.29 gram), and D (1,054.41±73.54 gram). Sistem resirkulasi budidaya kepiting bakau memiliki kelemahan yaitu berkurangnya ion-ion. Fase moting pada kepiting bakau sangat dipengaruhi oleh keberadaan ion kalsium dan magnesium dalam air. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan frekuensi waktu penambahan kalsium dan magnesium terbaik dalam sistem resirkulasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan benih kepiting bakau dengan berat rata-rata 54,856±2,195 gram. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan dan tiga ulangan. Perlakuan penambahan Ca dan Mg sebanyak 30 mg/L terdiri atas empat macam frekuensi, yaitu tanpa penambahan Ca dan Mg (A), frekuensi lima hari sekali (B), frekuensi 10 hari sekali (C), dan frekuensi 15 hari sekali (D). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan jumlah biomassa masing-masing perlakuan adalah A (379,99±86,16 gram), B (517,65±103,94 gram), C (808,68±59,29 gram), dan D (1.054,41±73,54 gram). Perlakuan terbaik diperoleh pada perlakuan D dengan jumlah biomassa sebesar (1.054,41±73,54 gram) ini berbeda nyata (P & lt;0,05) dengan perlakuan lainnya. 〈 br / 〉 〈 br / 〉 Kata kunci: kepiting bakau, resirkulasi, kalsium, magnesium, molting, produksi 〈 /p 〉
