    Abstract: Quá trình xử lý nhiệt được áp dụng trong nghiên cứu dịch ép làm từ trái dâu Hạ Châu. Các chỉ tiêu chất lượng và phương pháp kiểm trong các công đoạn xử lý nhiệt là polyphenol tổng số (thuốc thử Folin-Ciocalteu), flavonoid tổng số (tạo phức AlCl3), vitamin C và acid gallic (sắc ký lỏng cao áp HPLC) và khả năng chống oxy hóa (DPPH) thể hiện qua hoạt tính kháng oxy hóa (giá trị EC50 mg/mL). Kết quả nghiên cứu đã chọn được điều kiện chần, đun sơ bộ và chế độ thanh trùng được chọn lần lượt là 90oC-90 giây, 85oC-2 phút, 90oC-1,5 phút ứng với chất lượng của dịch ép dâu theo thứ tự các chỉ tiêu quan sát là 244,57 mgGAE/L, 193,47 mgQE/L, 115,97 mg/L, 17,62 mg/L và 383,95 mg/mL (EC50). Kết quả nghiên cứu có thể áp dụng cho quy trình chế biến nước giải khát làm từ trái dâu góp phần đa dạng hóa sản phẩm từ dâu.

    Abstract: Apatite ore from Lao Cai province (Vietnam) has large reserves and low cost which was purified by a simple chemical method. Apatite ore and purified one were characterized the molecular structure, phase component, specific surface area, element component, and morphology by IR, XRD, BET, EDX, and SEM methods. The IR result shows both materials have functional groups of fluorapatite such as PO43- and F-. XDR and EDX confirm that the main component of the ore is fluorapatite. After purification, the particles are smaller and more uniform with a higher specific surface area (36.62 m2/g compared with 3.76 m2/g of original apatite ore). Two materials were used to adsorb Pb2+ ions in an aqueous solution. The effect of adsorbent mass, pH, Pb2+ initial concentration, and contact time on adsorption efficiency and capacity was evaluated. The study of adsorption kinetics and isothermal adsorption showed that the Pb2+ adsorption process on apatite ore is matched with the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and the Langmuir model. The comparison between the original apatite ore and purified one was also studied. With 0.05 g of absorbent, after 15 minutes, the efficiency of purified ore is 97.47%, much higher compared with the original ore (50%) after 45 minutes.

    Abstract: Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are a typical group of persistent organic pollutants (POPs), which have been listed under Annex A (Elimination) and Annex C (Unintentional production) of the Stockholm Convention. In this study, a gas chromatography tandem mass spectrometry method was developed and applied to analyze concentrations of 28 PCB congeners in some Vietnamese marine fish samples. PCBs in fish samples were ultrasonically extracted with an acetone/n-hexane (1/1, v/v) mixture. The extracts were cleaned up by using multilayer silica gel columns with dichloromethane/n-hexane (1/1, v/v) as elution solvent. PCBs were separated on a DB-5MS column and quantified by using a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer. The MS detector was operated in positive electron impact ionization (EI) mode and selected reaction monitoring (SRM) mode. Calibration curves of 28 PCBs exhibited good linearity (R2 & ge; 0.9998). Instrument detection limits (IDLs) and method detection limits (MDLs) ranged from 0.08 to 0.023 ng/mL and from 0.07 to 1.84 ng/g, respectively. Recoveries of 28 PCBs native and 7 labeled standards in matrix-spike samples ranged from 62.3 to 88.1% and from 75.5 to 91.9%, satisfying criteria proposed by AOAC (recovery 60-115% for 10-100 ppb levels). The validated method was applied to analyze 10 marine fish samples, showing levels of & sum;28PCBs from 17 to 851 (mean 230) ng/g lipid. The sum of 6in-PCBs (PCB-28; -52; -101; -138; -153; -180) based on wet weight (w/w) ranged from 1.24 to 3.15 ng/g, which is lower than the maximum level recommended by The European Union (75 ng/g (w/w). Congeners PCB-126 and PCB-169 were not detected in marine fish samples.

    Abstract: Zinc oxide (ZnO)-based varistor ceramics, incorporating varying amounts of Y2O3/CeO2, were fabricated through a twostep solid-state reaction method involving pre-calcination and subsequent sintering processes. ZnO powder and corresponding additives served as raw materials in the production. The investigation of phase composition, microstructure, and electrical properties employed techniques such as X-ray diffractometry (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and direct current electrical measurement. The findings revealed that varistor ceramics sintered at 950°C, using powder pre-calcined at 800°C and doped with an appropriate amount of Y2O3, exhibited enhanced electrical properties. Conversely, the introduction of varying concentrations of CeO2 did not contribute to the improvement of the electrical characteristics. The CeO2-doped samples displayed lower breakdown voltages and nonlinear coefficients compared to the undoped sample (M0). The addition of Y2O3 proved effective in improving the nonlinear coefficient but resulted in a decrease in the breakdown voltage withstand capability of the samples. A Y2O3 content of 0.5% was identified as a suitable compromise, balancing both factors. Notably, ZnO varistors doped with 0.5 mol% Y2O3 demonstrated optimal comprehensive electrical properties, featuring a breakdown field of 620 V/mm and a nonlinear coefficient of 45. These results suggest that Y2O3 doping holds promise as a viable strategy for achieving varistor ceramics with outstanding electrical performance.

    Abstract: From samples of moldy wall paint and damaged water-based paint, we isolated and quantified the density of microorganisms present in the samples and determined the morphology of the isolates; thereby, identifying the genera of the bacteria and mold strains. The results showed that the density of the strains collected from the wall paint samples was much higher than that of the water-based paint samples (106 CFU/mL and 104 CFU/mL, respectively). In the wall paint samples, only mold colonies were observed, not bacterial colonies, while in the water-based paint samples both mold and bacterial colonies appeared, although mold colonies were still predominant. Based on the observation of colony formation and microscopic morphology of molds, we classified six mold strains into five genera: Aspergillus sp., Cladosporum sp., Acremoium sp., Chaetomium sp., and Fusarium sp. The frequency of strains belonging to the genus Aspergillus sp. accounted for the majority in both wall and water-based paint samples. Among the three bacterial strains isolated, we identified two bacterial strains as G (-) and one strain as G (+).

    Abstract: Rehmannia glutinosa (Gaertn.) Libosch. is an herbal plant, which belongs to the Srcophulariaceae family, containing the main active ingredients such as catalpol and verbacoside in its root tubers. In traditional medicine, R. glutinosa tubers have been used in the fresh or dried tuber root or the prepared rehamannia root. They not only possess the comprehensive pharmacological actions in the blood system, endocrine system but also used mainly for anti-tumor treament, immune-enhancement, anti-diabetes, treament for concretion in the urinary tract, etc. R. glutinosa is naturally distributed in China, Korea and Japan. This species was introduced into Viet Nam since 1958 and then planted widely in many the Northern plain and midland provinces. In Vietnam, R. glutinosa produces flowers without seeds, therefore the plant has been mainly propagated by slicing tubers. In this work, we investigated the effect of some plant hormones and sucrose contents on the ability to producing microtubers of R. glutinosa. Experiments were establishmented on the 1/4 MS medium supplemented with 50g/L sucrose.  Results showed that auxin (IBA, NAA) had no effect on the in vitro tuber formation of R. glutinosa. The efficiency of using the single BAP or PP333 was low. The highest in vitro tuberization rate of R. glutinosa obtained on the medium supplemented with the combination of BAP (1.0 mg/L) and PP333  (0.3 mg/L), reached 83.33% and the number of tubers/plant was 5.58. The optimal sucrose concentration for increasing the diameter and weight of microtubers was 70 g/L. 100% of plants with tuber-roots survived in the nursery and thrived on the field

    Abstract: Nghiên cứu được thực hiện tại 12 điểm thuộc 6 tỉnh ở khu vực Nam Bộ - Lâm Đồng từtháng 6/2017 – 6/2018 qua các đợt điều tra thu thập mẫu tại thực địa và xét nghiệm tại labo.Mục tiêu nghiên cứu nhằm xác định một số đặc điểm dịch tễ liên quan đến tình trạng nhiễmgiun, sán ở khu vực nghiên cứu. Tổng số 2.800 mẫu phân và 4.000 mẫu huyết thanh người(≥ 2 tuổi); 252 mẫu đất, 240 mẫu nước, 128 mẫu rau; 1.200 mẫu KAP được thu thập, điềutra, xét nghiệm. Kết quả nghiên cứu đã xác định được tỷ lệ nhiễm giun, sán ở mẫu phân vàhuyết thanh người, trong môi trường nước, rau, đất và xác định được một số yếu tố liên quanđến tình trạng nhiễm giun, sán tại khu vực Nam Bộ - Lâm Đồng như sau: Trong môi trường tỷlệ nhiễm trứng giun móc/mỏ trong đất cao nhất 3,97%, trong rau 28,13%; Ở người: Tỷ lệnhiễm trứng giun móc/mỏ trong các mẫu phân cao nhất 8,68%; Tỷ lệ mẫu huyết thanh (+)với Toxocara spp cao nhất 24,40%.     Abstract: An ultrahigh-performance liquid chromatography in combination with high-resolution mass spectrometry Thermo Q-Extractive Focus Orbitrap MS has been introduced for analysis of multiclass pesticides in vegetable samples collected in Hanoi, Vietnam. Multiclass pesticides were separated on the Thermo Hypersil Gold PFP column utilizing a gradient of the mobile phase consisting of 5 mM ammonium formate, 0.1% formic acid in deionized water, and methanol. The target analytes were detected in the full-scan mode on Thermo Scientific Q-Exactive Focus Orbitrap MS for quantitation at the optimum operating conditions. These conditions included, but not limit to, the resolution of 70000 at the full width at half maximum in both positive and negative mode, mass range from 80 to 1000  m/z , and optimized parameters for the heated electrospray ionization source. The identification of the analytes in real samples was based on retention times, mass to charge ratios, mass accuracies, and MS/MS spectra at the confirmation mode with the inclusion list of target analytes. The mass accuracies of target analytes were from −4.14 ppm (dinotefuran) to 1.42 ppm (cinosulfuron) in the neat solvent and from −3.91 ppm (spinosad D) to 1.29 ppm (cinosulfuron) in the matrix-matched solution. Target analytes in the vegetable-based matrix were extracted by the QuEChERS method. Some critical parameters of the analytical method such as linearity, repeatability, limit of detection, and limit of quantitation have been evaluated and implemented. Excellent LOD and LOQ of the developed method were achieved at the range of 0.04–0.85 and 0.13–2.9  μ g·kg −1 , respectively. Intraday and interday repeatability of the analytical signal (peak area, n = 6 ) of the developed method were below 3% and 10%, correspondingly. The matrix effect, extraction recovery, and overall recovery were fully investigated by spiking experiments. Experimental results demonstrated that the ionization suppression or enhancement was the main contribution on the overall recoveries of target analytes. Finally, the in-house validated method was applied to pesticides screening in vegetables samples in local villages in Hanoi, Vietnam. The concentrations of all target analytes were below limit of quantitation and lower than US-FDA or EU maximum residue levels.

    Abstract: Nhiễm khuẩn bệnh viện là nguyên nhân hàng đầu đe dọa sự an toàn của người bệnh, tăng biến chứng, ngày điều trị, chi phí nằm viện, tỷ lệ tử vong. Nhiễm khuẩn bệnh viện cũng gây quá tải, giảm chất lượng và uy tín bệnh viện và trở thành gánh nặng chăm sóc y tế. Nghiên cứu thực hiện tại Bệnh viện Tuệ Tĩnh với một số biện pháp can thiệp cơ bản như sửa chữa nâng cấp cơ sở vật chất, bổ sung một số thiết bị, phương tiện; xây dựng quy trình/quy định và tổ chức đào tạo, tập huấn, kiểm tra giám sát. Sau can thiệp, kết quả cải thiện về tỷ lệ thực hành chung đạt tăng từ 31,0% lên 88,4%. Những kết quả thu được đã cho thấy, can thiệp đã cải thiện thực hành của nhân viên y tế về công tác khử khuẩn- tiệt khuẩn, từ đó góp phần làm tăng thực hành chuẩn, góp phần làm giảm nguy cơ nhiểm khuẩn có thể xảy ra, nâng cao chất lượng và an toàn bệnh viện.
