Abstract: We report on the illustration of the first electron blocking layer (EBL) free AlInN nanowire light-emitting diodes (LEDs) operating in the deep ultraviolet (DUV) wavelength region (sub-250 nm). We have systematically analyzed the results using APSYS software and compared with simulated AlGaN nanowire DUV LEDs. From the simulation results, significant efficiency droop was observed in AlGaN based devices, attributed to the significant electron leakage. However, compared to AlGaN nanowire DUV LEDs at similar emission wavelength, the proposed single quantum well (SQW) AlInN based light-emitters offer higher internal quantum efficiency without droop up to current density of 1500 A/cm 2 and high output optical power. Moreover, we find that transverse magnetic polarized emission is ∼ 5 orders stronger than transverse electric polarized emission at 238 nm wavelength. Further research shows that the performance of the AlInN DUV nanowire LEDs decreases with multiple QWs in the active region due to the presence of the non-uniform carrier distribution in the active region. This study provides important insights on the design of new type of high performance AlInN nanowire DUV LEDs, by replacing currently used AlGaN semiconductors.

Abstract: A study on the effect of different densities and feed when rearing phyllosoma larvae of slipper lobster (Thenus Orientalis) was conducted at Nha Trang Marine Research and Development Center, Institute of Aquaculture Research No. 3 from January to April 2020 to evaluate the effect of density and types of food on survival, growth (phase transition rate, phyllosoma larval size: CL and CW). In general, the impact of feed on phyllosoma larvae was recorded in such parameters as survival rate, stage transition rate, and larval size (CL and CW). The results showed that the survival rate of phyllosoma larvae depends on the density of rearing phyllosoma larvae, and the appropriate density when breeding is 15 fish/L. However, density does not affect the growth of phyllosoma larvae. Besides, the best feed formula for rearing phyllosoma larvae in this study was umbrella Artemia + (white clam) fresh meat for the first seven days, and newly hatched Artemia + white clam meat continued to be fed from day one, 8th to 24th day.

Abstract: Background: Several lines of evidence have been focused on the roles of tryptophan metabolism genes like indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 1 (IDO1) and tryptophan 2,3-dioxygenase (TDO2) in bladder cancer progression. However, the alternative way of targeting in cancer immunotherapy has been not yet investigated in bladder cancer. Method: We explored and validated the clinicopathological significance and the correlation with immune infiltrates of IDO1 and TDO2 expression in bladder cancer using Bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA) and other Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) datasets (GSE13570, GSE31684, GSE48277) downloaded from https://xenabrowser.net/ and https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/geo/. The correlation between IDO1, TDO2 expression and the immune infiltrates as well as PD-L1 gene expression in BLCA dataset was explored with TIMER2.0, http://timer.comp-genomics.org/. Immunohistochemistry was performed to validate the relationship between TDO2 and PD-L1 expression in bladder cancer. Results: We figured out the IDO1 and TDO2 expressions were significantly upregulated in basal type compared with other molecular subtypes in BLCA. P53 mutations were associated with upregulation of IDO1 and TDO2 expression (p & lt;0.01) whereas FGFR3 mutation was associated with downregulation of IDO1 and TDO2 expression (p & lt;0.001). The overexpression of IDO1, TDO2 overexpression was significantly associated with advanced disease in BC. IDO1 and TDO2 expression were significantly correlated with purity and immune cell infiltrates, including T cells CD8+, T cells CD4+, B cells, neutrophils, and macrophages as wells as myeloid dendritic cells. Interestingly, TDO2 were positively correlated with cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) (rho=0.5, p=1.14e-24). PD-L1 expression was also correlated with IDO1 (rho=0.64, p=4.42e-49) and TDO2 expression (rho=0.42, p=5.01e-19). Immunohistochemistry revealed the correlation between TDO2 and PD-L1 expression (p=0.011). Conclusion: Our results pointed out that IDO1 and TDO2 could play an essential role in regulating the tumor microenvironment as well as immune tolerance in bladder cancer. Suggesting that IDO1, TDO2 might be a promising novel immunotherapy target for bladder cancer patients. Abstract: Novel highly visible‐light active ZnBi 2 O 4 ‐Bi 2 S 3 photocatalysts with various weight percentages of Bi 2 S 3 have been synthesized by a simple two‐step co‐precipitation and hydrothermal method. The efficacy of the as‐prepared ZnBi 2 O 4 ‐Bi 2 S 3 composites was evaluated for the degradation of Indigo carmine in aqueous solutions under visible light irradiation. It was found that the as‐prepared ZnBi 2 O 4 ‐Bi 2 S 3 composites showed was greatly enhanced photocatalytic activities as compared to that of pristine ZnBi 2 O 4 under visible light, which could be attributed to synergetic effects, charge transfer between ZnBi 2 O 4 and Bi 2 S 3 , as well as the separation efficiency of the photogenerated electrons and holes. The superoxide anion radical was the major active species responsible for the photodegradation process, whereas the contributions of the photoinduced h + and hydroxyl radicals were moderate and minor, respectively. These results demonstrate the feasibility of utilizing ZnBi 2 O 4 ‐Bi 2 S 3 as potential heterogeneous photocatalysts for environmental remediation.

Abstract: In this manuscript, biological durability, cytotoxicity and MRI image contrast effect of chitosan modified magnetic nanoparticles were investigated. The result of durability study shows that the asprepared sample with average size of about 30 nm had a high stability under pH conditions in range of from 2 to 12 and at salt concentration in range of from 0 to 300 mM. The cytotoxicity testing indicates that the obtained Fe 3 O 4 @CS ferrofluid revealed a low cytotoxicity. After 48 h of test on the line of prostate tumor cells of Sarcoma 180, collected IC 50 value was 178.5±22 ( μ g/ml), 7.5 to 27.9 times less cytotoxicity than that of reported ferromagnetic fluids. MRI data shows that the transverse relaxation rate ( r 2) of the ferrite nanoparticles was 130.32 (mM −1 s −1 ), 2 and 1.44 times larger than that of the commercial products of Sinerem (AMI-227) and Ferumoxytol products, respectively. Invivo test in rabbit shows that the picture of body parts was clearly observed after the injection of the Fe 3 O 4 @CS ferrofluid. With these outstanding properties, this magnetic fluid based on the chitosan modified Fe 3 O 4 nanoparticles had great potential for enhancing the image contrast in image diagnosis by MRI magnetic resonance imaging technique.

Abstract: Lead (Pb) accumulation in food is being seriously concerned due to its harmful effects on the health in of consumers. In this study, the accumulation and speciation of Pb analysis were carried out on climbing perch (Anabas testudineus). The A. testudineus was raised in waterborne Pb at concentration of 20, 30, 40 mg/L for Pb in 7 and 28 days. Pb is present in different chemical forms in the food chain, but organic Pb is more toxic than inorganic Pb.  In the present study, organic Pb in liver and muscle of A. testudineus was extracted with methanol and was measured by inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry. After 28 days of exposure, total Pb concentration in A. testudineus was from 124.23 ± 5.09 to 174.45 ± 5.55 mg/kg dry weight for the liver and from 67.83 ± 5.79 to 153.60 ± 5.78 mg/kg dry weight for the muscle. Organic Pb found in A. testudineus was from 8.1 to 9.9 % for the liver and from 5.9 to 12.5 % for the muscle. The accumulation of Pb in A. testudineus was quite high however, the conversion from inorganic Pb to organic Pb in A. testudineus was relatively low.

Abstract: In this paper, AlInN nanowire ultraviolet light-emitting diodes (LEDs) with emission at ∼299 nm have been successfully demonstrated. We have further studied the light extraction properties of these nanowire LEDs using photonic crystal structures with square and hexagonal lattices of nanowires. The light extraction efficiency (LEE) of the periodic nanowire LED arrays was found to be significantly increased as compared to random nanowire LEDs. The LEEs reach ∼ 56%, and ∼ 63% for the square and hexagonal photonic crystal-based nanowire structures, respectively. Moreover, highly transverse-magnetic polarized emission was observed with dominant vertical light emission for the AlInN nanowire ultraviolet LEDs.
