Abstract:
Vinh Tuong is the leading district in land consolidation and exchange in Vinh Phuc province. The district's land area for plotting and changing fields is the land along the Red river, which is very suitable for bananas to grow and develop. In 2019-2021, Vinh Tuong farmers put the “Tieu Hong” banana variety into production, but the rate of plants suffering from tuber rot is high, growth is poor, and yield is low. The South American cavendish banana variety has many advantages over other banana varieties, such as healthy growth, good pest resistance, and high yield... However, planting density has a great influence on growth and development. The study was carried out from January 2022 to December 2022, with 4 planting densities: 3,330, 2,000, 1,600 and 1,340 plants/ha. As a result of this study, the research team determined that with a planting density of 2,000 plants/ha (2.5x2 m), plants with good stem growth, good leaves, and few pests and diseases, yield 55,200 kg/ha. This is the most suitable density for the South American cavendish banana variety produced in the Vinh Tuong district.
