Abstract:
Objectives: To identify the prevalence of academic pressure and to analyze relatedfactorsamongmedical students of Hue university of Medicine and Pharmacy. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 878 medical students usingtheEducationalStress Scale for Adolescents (ESSA). Result: The prevalence of academic pressure among students was 59.3%. Factors relatedtoacademic pressure were rst-year students with OR = 1.60; third-year students with R .88; ood or excellent ranking with OR = 0.71; average or weak or poor ranking with R .19; onthly allowance from 1.5 to under 2.3 million Dong with OR = 1.57; not participating n ports r exercise with OR = 1.52; not satis ed with the health with OR = 1.86; not satis ed ith ocial elationships with OR = 1.79; reasons for choosing the eld study due to orientation o parents th OR = 1.83; unsatis ed with the quality of lecturers with OR = 143; and usatis ed wth iversity administration with OR = 0.61. Conclusion: Students should be provided with the appropriate coping strategies for aademic essure and encouraged to participate in exercise and sports.
