Abstract:
The Ganoderma lucidum fruiting bodies biofortified with essential elements, such as Se, Cu, and Zn in this study may have potential value for both nutritional and medicinal use. As shown, cultivation of this mushroom species with substrates enriched with Se, Se and Cu, Se and Zn or Se, Cu and Zn is uncomplicated, inexpensive, and leads to the production of relatively high biomass of fruiting bodies. Considering the popularity of G. lucidum , its biofortification with Se, Cu, and Zn may be of commercial interest.
