Abstract:
High‐field magnetization and magnetoresistance of EuPtP 1− x As x with 0.55 ≤ x ≤ 0.70 have been studied. Large negative magnetoresistance associated with the field‐induced valence transition was observed. Based on the results, we discuss the nature of the valence transition caused by high magnetic fields. Besides, the compounds exhibit substantial negative magnetoresistance in the low field region below 10 T. It is found that the magnetoresistance is proportional to the square of magnetization. The origin of magnetoresistance in the low field region is also discussed.
