Abstract: The article presents the official information on the epizootic situation of FMD type А in the Middle East: Saudi Arabia, Iran, Armenia and Turkey in the period 2005-2017. Analyzing the number of outbreaks of FMD in these countries, it was found that, despite strict preventive measures associated with regular vaccination of susceptible animals, the main cause of the disease - the appearance of new genetic lines of topotype Asia: A/Iran-05 and G-VII, antigenically different from the production of FMD virus strains used in the vaccine. In this region, phylogenetic drift among the population of FMD type a virus manifests itself not only in the appearance of new lines, but also new sublines within the same line. . This is due, first of all, to the tense political situation in the region, when, due to uncontrolled migration of people and animals, there is a close contact of FMD-susceptible domestic and wild animals of different species and the alternate transmission of the virus to them. Due to the existing danger of spreading the virus in the countries of Central Asia and the Caucasus it is necessary to conduct studies on the selection and training of new relevant in respect of production of epizootic strains of FMD virus type A for inclusion in the composition of foot and mouth disease vaccine.

Abstract: Acute toxicity of chitosan samples was determined by the value of 50% lethal dose (LD50) in experiments on white nonlinear mice aged 2-2.5 months weighing 18-22 g, from which groups of 10 animals were formed. Chitosan preparations were administered once intraperitoneal in a volume of 0.5 cm3 (solution in acetic acid). For control animals, an aqueous solution of acetic acid with a pH of 5.8 was used. The animals were observed after injections of the tested drugs for two weeks.  We took into account the appearance and behavior, the state of the coat and visible mucous membranes, the attitude to feed, mobility, volume and frequency of breathing, the timing of the death of animals or their recovery. The radioprotective properties of chitosan against ionizing radiation were investigated. The preventive and therapeutic effect of low-molecular chitosan in intraperitoneal administration at doses of 200 mg / kg live weight in experiments on male mice weighing 20-25 g, subjected to gamma irradiation at doses up to 800 BER (BER - man roentgen equivalent) on the installation "Gamma-panorama" (radiation source Cs137, duration 58.5 min.). It was shown that mice of the experimental group I, which were administered chitosan three days before irradiation, remained alive during the entire observation period (30 days.). Animals II, III and IV of the experimental group was injected with 3, 9 and 22 days after irradiation, the survival rate to the end of the experiment they accounted for 86, 43 and 29%, respectively, with 100% mortality in the control (irradiated animals without the use of chitosan) and intact animals in the control II (non-irradiated animals).

Abstract: The purpose of the study was to analyze the effectiveness of the adjuvant complex based on saponin, glycerin and chitosan in the experimental series of an inactivated vaccine against cattle necrobacteriosis. 4 groups of animals (30 in each group) were selected for the study, aged 6 to 24 months. The first (1st) group consisted of calves 6 months old, the second (2nd) group consisted of animals 12 months old and the third group – animals 24 months old. The control 4 (fourth) group (non-vaccinated animals) contained 10 animals of each age group – 6, 12 and 24 months old. The animals were vaccinated using a needle-free injector at a dose of 0.4 cm3 in two points at a distance of 7–10 cm (0.2 cm3 each) twice at intervals of 4-6 weeks. Revaccinated after 6 months, with a single dose of 0.4 cm3 (at two points, 0.2 cm2 each). It was found that the vaccine with the multicomponent adjuvant had low viscosity and hardening temperature, moderate reactivity, high stability during storage, prolonged immunity in vaccinated animals. The immunity in animals was detected 21 days after the first vaccine administration and lasted at least 18 months after the last immunization. The necrobacteriosis incidence in animals of the control non-vaccinated group was 70-80%. During double vaccination, the average level of postvaccinal agglutinating antibodies in serum of experimental groups of animals was 312.08±74.12 – 62.13±69, 07. Humoral response in vaccinated animals provided reliable protection against Fusobacterium necrophorum disease within two years (observation period). Absence of disease symptoms in vaccinated animals during 2 years testified to the high preventive efficiency of the vaccine. The results obtained confirm the validity of the application of multicomponent adjuvant in inactivated sorbed vaccine as a means of specific prevention of animal necrobacteriosis.

Abstract: The system of veterinary and sanitary measures in the CJSC "Makeevo" of the Zarayskiy municipal district of the Moscow region was studied during 2015-2016. The tests were carried out on 2232 cattle with age and sex composition: 965 cows, 206 heifers, 186 heifers (2014 year of birth), 52 bulls (2014 year of birth,) 426 heifers (2015 year of birth), 397 male calves (2015 year of birth). The system of veterinary and sanitary measures to prevent infectious diseases of cattle have been developed on the basis of modern scientific achievements, taking into account many years of practical experience in Russia, includes a set of measures: an analysis of the current situation in the farm; identification of urgent priority measures, specialists training on the farm, monitoring of the proposed measures implementation; elaboration of the farm development plan. The results of the recommendations production tests and the system of veterinary and sanitary measures on number of cattle in the dairy farm enterprise through the modernization of the production process are presented. Application of organizational-economic, sanitary, diagnostic, preventive and therapeutic measures was allowed to protect 99.25% of animals from necrobacteriosis.

Abstract: In January 2022, during scientific cruise 87 on the RV Academic Mstislav Keldysh in the Atlantic sector of the Southern Ocean, three hydrobiophysical cross‐sections were performed in the Bransfield Strait. Bioluminescent signals were measured in a layer of 0–200 m at each of the 24 stations located at three sites. For the first time, a new hydrobiological system ‘Salpa MA +’ was used, which made it possible to obtain novel data in the photic layer of the studied water area. Bioluminescence studies were accompanied by simultaneous measurements of background indicators: temperature, electrical conductivity, photosynthetically active radiation, and they were compared with the data from plankton samples processing. Bioluminescent potential was registered at almost all the stations. The maximum level of bioluminescence was registered in the area of the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands, where the maximum accumulation of Salpa thompsoni , Foxton 1861 was noted. The purpose of this work is to identify the main factors and patterns affecting the intensity of the bioluminescence field in the region under study.

Abstract: Many proteins form amyloid fibrils only under conditions when the probability of transition from a native (structured, densely packed) to an intermediate (labile, destabilized) state is increased. It implies the assumption that some structural intermediates are more convenient for amyloid formation than the others. Hence, if a mutation affects the protein folding pathway, one should expect that this mutation could affect the rate of amyloid formation as well. In the current work, we have compared the effects of amino acid substitutions of bovine carbonic anhydrase II on its unfolding pathway and on its ability to form amyloids at acidic pH and an elevated temperature. Wild-type protein and four mutant forms (L78A, L139A, I208A, and M239A) were studied. We analyzed the change of the protein unfolding pathway by the time-resolved fluorescence technique and the process of amyloid formation by thioflavin T fluorescence assay and electron microscopy. It was revealed that I208A substitution accelerates amyloid formation and affects the structure of the late (molten globule-like)-intermediate state of carbonic anhydrase, whereas the other mutations slow down the growth of amyloids and have either no effect on the unfolding pathway (L78A, L139A) or alter the conformational states arising at the early unfolding stage (M239A).
