Abstract:
(Abstracted from Am J Obstet Gynecol 2018;218:500.e1–500.e13) After the introduction of total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH) in 1989, the significant benefits of minimally invasive techniques for improved outcomes and lower costs have allowed a substantial decrease in the rate of open abdominal hysterectomies. However, these benefits have been paralleled by an increase in the rate of vaginal cuff dehiscence, an infrequent but potentially life-threatening complication.
