Abstract: White turmeric ( Curcuma amada ) is a traditional medicine that contains phenolic as an antioxidant—usually processed into drinks or capsules. Currently, the drying method used is sunlight can reduce the quality of white turmeric. The study’s objectives were to investigate the most optimal drying method based on physical and chemical quality and drying rate. There were seven drying methods employed: sun-drying (SD), cabinet drying with the heating temperature of 50 °C, 60°C, and 70°C (namely CD50, CD60, and CD70, respectively), freeze-drying with the final heating temperature of 30°C, 40°C, and 50°C (namely FD30, FD40, and FD50, respectively). Quality parameters measured were moisture content, color, volume, particle density, morphological visualization, and total phenolic compound. The results showed that the drying method affected the observed parameters. The freeze-drying with a heating temperature of 30°C was the most optimal drying method, with moisture content reduced from 91.41% to 7.56%. After the drying process, the color changed value was 19.18, with a volume shrinkage of 69.37% and particle density of 0.41 g/cm 3 . The total phenolic compound of freeze-dried white Tumeric was 8.427 mgGAE g solid −1 .

Abstract: Indonesian turpentine oil contains α-pinene (70-90%), β-pinene (5-10%), and 3-carene (4-10%). This study aims to determine the effect of temperature, time, and mass of the catalyst on the α-pinene esterification. The esterification was carried out at 25, 40 and 50°C for 1, 2, 3, and 4 hours with variations in the catalyst mass of 100, 300 and 500 mg. This reaction was carried out in a three neck round bottom flask equipped with a heater, thermometer and magnetic stirrer. The ester produced in the α-pinene transformation through the esterification is carvyl acetate. The optimum results were obtained at temperature of 40°C and the addition of catalyst of 500 mg with α-pinene conversion of 67.81% and selectivity of carvyl acetate at 81.92% for 1 h.

Abstract: In term of geography, water is a resource which is not favouring administrative boundaries. Water has its behaviour in flowing. However, we cannot confidently say that water flows following the laws of gravity. There is no guarantee that locations which are close to reservoir or water resource are not prone. Water scarcity when comparing the resource to demand for it is more relative than absolute. Irrigation water management is aimed to guarantee to make every agricultural land has access to water. In other hand, map is an important tool especially for portraying conditions of an area such as river basin. Map have played important roles in water management. This study aims to explore the use of data in decision making in irrigation water management practices. Colo irrigation area in Bengawan Solo river basin was chosen not only its vast coverage area but also because of its complexity in water management. It across two provinces and six municipalities. Content analysis was undertook to analyse two data sets: laws and regulation related to water management practice and the interview of policy actors. Elaborating the implementation of laws and regulations regarding to the use of data and information in irrigation water management, the comparison of the results also disclosed deviations among what it is regulated and what it is implemented. Quantitative and qualitative data that mostly used in practices cannot fully support to inform water conditions, physical and environmental conditions, social economic conditions in wider context. Spatial data is essential tools to represent comprehensive interconnected data and information in wider context. A profound understanding of stakeholder perspectives on the role of each data and information is essential for policy actors in the implementation of integration water resource management. Shared, comprehensive and interconnected data can promote common ground and collaboration potential.

Abstract: Beluntas leaves are medicinal plants with pharmacological effects, such as antioxidant, antidiarrheal, antidiabetic, and antibacterial. Drying is one of the processes before the beluntas leaves are consumed. However, drying could degrade the quality of beluntas leaves. This research aims to investigate the impact of drying conditions on the physical qualities of dried beluntas leaves. Beluntas leaves with a moisture content of 83-90% were dried using drying methods, namely the greenhouse effect dryer (ERK), cabinet dryer (CD) at 40, 50, 60, and 70°C, and freeze dryer (FD) at 35, 45, and 55°C. The physical parameters measured were moisture content, color, shrinkage, rehydration ratio, and bulk density. The results showed that the final moisture content of the dried beluntas leaves were 8.40; 4.92-10.70; 4.73-6.77%w.b for ERK, CD, and FD, respectively. Page’s model was suitable for explaining the changes in moisture ratio during the drying process ( R 2 = 0.9934 − 0.9999). The freeze-drying method can preserve the leaves’ color and obtain the lowest moisture content with a low drying temperature compared to other methods. Freeze-dried beluntas leaves also exhibited the highest rehydration ratio, which was 2.03 – 2.25.

Abstract: Aims: There is a need to document the mental-health effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and its associated societal lockdowns. We initiated a large mixed-methods data collection, focusing on crisis-specific worries and mental-health indicators during the lockdown in Denmark. Methods: The study incorporated five data sources, including quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews. The surveys included a time series of cross-sectional online questionnaires starting on 20 March 2020, in which 300 (3×100) Danish residents were drawn every three days from three population groups: the general population ( N=1046), families with children ( N=1032) and older people ( N=1059). These data were analysed by trend analysis. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 32 people aged 24–83 throughout Denmark to provide context to the survey results and to gain insight into people’s experiences of the lockdown. Results: Absolute level of worries, quality of life and social isolation were relatively stable across all population groups during the lockdown, although there was a slight deterioration in older people’s overall mental health. Many respondents were worried about their loved ones’ health (74–76%) and the potential long-term economic consequences of the pandemic (61–66%). The qualitative interviews documented significant variation in people’s experiences, suggesting that the lockdown’s effect on everyday life had not been altogether negative. Conclusions: People in Denmark seem to have managed the lockdown without alarming changes in their mental health. However, it is important to continue investigating the effects of the pandemic and various public-health measures on mental health over time and across national contexts.
