Abstract:
Various metal oxides (e.g., tungsten, molybdenum, manganese and/or titanium) can be prepared by electrodeposition as thin layers. This paper describes their formation and investigation using quartz crystal microbalance (QCM). Sorption of water into the material can be detected; in the case of manganese oxide it is almost reversible and corresponds to the ratio oxide:H2O = 1:1. Also the electrochemical insertion of lithium from aprotic solvents can be investigated both by voltammetry and QCM measurements
