Abstract: Local authorities (LA) have been serving as leaders in their communities to implement the Low Carbon Cities Framework (LCCF). LCCFC, although carefully developed, has not been effectively utilised. This paper aimed to study the effect of LCCFC implementation on community satisfaction levels. The objectives of this paper were: (i) to determine the implementation of LCCFC in relation to community satisfaction, (ii) to analyse the levels of community satisfaction across economic, social, and environmental aspects, and (iii) to suggest strategies and frameworks for enhancing community satisfaction. A mixed method approach was employed, which encompassed both an interview and a questionnaire survey. The questionnaire survey reached a sample size of 400 participants, drawn from six distinct neighbourhood areas within the jurisdiction of the Subang Jaya Municipal Council. Meanwhile, the interview was conducted with town planners within a Local Authority (LA) as key stakeholders, alongside the community. The qualitative data was analysed using Atlas Ti, while the quantitative data was via SPSS. The findings of the present study reveal that the utilisation of the LCCF checklist by the local authority concerned is currently inadequate, thereby necessitating the identification of strategies for improvement and the formulation of action plans to enhance community contentment. It is recommended that the findings of the current study be utilised as a point of reference by other local authorities, thereby constituting a significant advancement in the pursuit of accelerating sustainable development.

Abstract: A carbon footprint is the number of greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere by particular human activity. Usually, a carbon footprint is calculated for a year. This study plans to evaluate the carbon footprint of the university. The Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol Corporate Standard for developing a GHG inventory in a university will be used as a standard and guideline. A university has to determine its organizational boundaries in terms of the operations in identifying emissions associated with its services, categorizing them as direct and indirect emissions, and choosing the scope of accounting and reporting for indirect emissions. The primary sources of carbon footprint in the university are from goods and services, transportation, and energy production. This study will document carbon footprint assessment strategies adopted by higher education institutions in the Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Malaysia. Keywords: Carbon Footprint; Emissions; Greenhouse Gases; University; CampuseISSN: 2398-4287 © 2019. Abstract: Geopark was a widely known concept for the global theme for promoting the tourism industry. It is protecting the world heritage and improving the local community’s socioeconomic development. Currently, Geopark had faced a lot of risk and challenges of losing their identity and damages on historical assets due to an increasing demand for development. Therefore, Geopark area should be well managed and protected with strategic planning and approach. By using the content analysis technique, this research will determine the suitability and current sustainable conservation approach which suits the standard criteria and guidelines that have been set by UNESCO.

Abstract: The interrelationship between freshwater availability with the growing population and climate change estimates is complex. This article investigates climate change role in freshwater resources availability. This is critical issue as freshwater is vital resource for life, and it is in stake as it is depleted worldwide. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Special Report on Emissions Scenarios (SRES) was discussed. This paper elucidates the climate model downscaling methods used by scholars for future projections. The applications of modelling could provide a holistic approach based on historical data to predict the effect of climate change on the availability of freshwater. However, the people variability uncertainties dominate assessments of freshwater stress, whilst climate change projections uncertainties are more hypothesized to play a smaller role than people.

Abstract: Green Neighborhood can be defined as a neighborhood area that meets the needs of peoples’ daily activities and allows communities to control pollution, save energy, increase employment, decrease crime rates, develop friendships, practice on-site renewable energy methods and preserve agricultural and environmentally sensitive areas. In such an environment, people make easy access to their home, workplaces, public facilities, transit facilities and green spaces within a comfortable walking scale. The guidance is aimed at assisting local authorities and agencies to implement five (5) selected green neighborhood initiatives; Provision of Pedestrian Walkway, Provision of Bicycle Lane, rainwater Harvesting System, Waste Composting and Community Farming. Keywords: Green Neighbourhood; Environment; CommunityISSN: 2398-4287© 2017. Abstract: Public awareness and active engagement in environmental programmes are associated with a better quality of life (Kamaruddin et.al. 2016; Mohit 2016). This exploratory study highlights the level of awareness and practice of residents in the bio mass initiative of a case study area. Self reported descriptive responses indicate that having awareness and knowledge regarding waste management does not necessarily result in actual sustainable waste practice. This paradox is consistent with other findings of similar studies (Kamaruddin et.al. 2016). Practical steps are identified to encourage residents and help sustain the bio mass initiative programme implemented by a local authority in Selangor, Malaysia.
