    Abstract: 〈 p 〉 Inventarisasi sumber daya genetic (SDG) padi lokal lahan rawa di Sumatera Selatan telah dilakukan dalam kurun waktu tahun 2013-2015.  Kegiatan inventarisasi dilakukan pada dua agroekosistem lahan padi di Sumatera Selatan, yaitu lahan rawa lebak (di Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ilir dan Ogan Ilir) dan lahan rawa pasang surut (di Kabupaten Banyuasin).  Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah survei dan 〈 em 〉 desk study 〈 /em 〉 〈 em 〉 . 〈 /em 〉   Karakterisasi morfo-agronomis juga telah dilakukan baik secara 〈 em 〉 in-situ 〈 /em 〉 maupun 〈 em 〉 ex-situ. 〈 /em 〉   Hasil pengamatan karakteristik morfologis dianalisis secara deskriptif.  Sebanyak total 115 jenis aksesi lahan rawa telah berhasil diinventarisasi dengan sebaran 67 asksesi dari lahan rawa lebak dan 48 aksesi di lahan pasang surut.  Dari hasil karakterisasi morfo-agronomis diketahui bahwa terdapat keragaman yang tinggi pada aksesi-aksesi padi lokal lahan rawa yang dikoleksi dari lokasi yang berbeda. 〈 /p 〉

    Abstract: 〈 p 〉 The Pegagan rice (Siputih) is one of local rice lowland specific in South Sumatra. This rice is rarely grown by farmers. Identification was carried out at lowland Agroecosystem in Ogan Komering Ilir Distric of South Sumatra Province. The purpose of this study was to characterize on morphological and agronomic characters. The study was conducted by planting and observing the local rice Pegagan (Siputih) which collected from five different districts (Tanjung Raja, Indralaya, Jejawi, SP Padang, and Kayuagung). All materials were tested using Randomized Block Design Complete with four replications. Each plot size 5 m × 5 m, number of seeds/holes 2–3 rod, a spacing of 25 cm × 25 cm. The characterization was done based on Rice Characterization and Evaluation Guide of the National Commission for Rice Germplasm. Morphological characters were presented in qualitative data and analyzed by Mode (Mo) analysis, while the agronomic characters were showed on quantitative data and analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA). The observation and analysis were indicated that the five local rice Pegagan (Siputih) which collected from 5 different district were showed no diversity, both on morphology and agronomic characters. Paralele on characterization planting, roughing was done and detected 0.15% mixed with others varieties and 1.85% plant have the deviation characters. 〈 /p 〉

    Abstract: The information on rice genetic material is needed to create new high-yielding varieties adaptive to dryland. Local rice genetic resources have been tested to be tolerant under conditions affected by global climate change (increased temperature, pest/disease attacks, droughts). This study aims to identify and characterize the agronomic character of local rice in Musi Rawas (MURA) and North MURA Regencies, South Sumatra. The results of identification and characterization, as well as correlation and regression analysis, revealed that three local varieties have agronomic characteristics that determine high-yield local rice productivity. This information can be utilized by breeders to create new superior varieties of rice in dryland. The agronomic characteristics of three local rice varieties that determine productivity are the area of the flag leaf and the number of filled grain/panicles. Local varieties with superior agronomic characteristics are Siam, Bolouh, and Gel. These three varieties have the potential to be used as parents in the creation of new high-yielding varieties that are specific, namely having broad flag leaves and a high number of filled grains/panicles. The acquisition of new high-yielding varieties specific to dryland through a breeding program will increase the choice of varieties for stakeholders and support increased rice production in dryland.

    Abstract: Pemerintah telah mencanangkan untuk berswasembada jagung. Provinsi Sumatera Selatan dengan kekayaan sumberdaya alamnya berpeluang untuk mewujudkan sumbangsihnya, melalui ketersediaan lahan pada tanaman karet belum menghasilkan yang dapat ditanami jagung. Kajian ini bertujuan mengetahui adaptasi varietas dan usahatani tanaman jagung di sela tanaman karet yang belum menghasilkan. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di lokasi perkebunan karet rakyat belum menghasilkan dengan umur 2 tahun di Kelurahan Betung Kecamatan Betung Kabupaten Banyuasin, Provinsi Sumatera Selatan. Kegiatan dimulai bulan April sampai September (MK) 2018. Pengkajian dilaksanakan dalam bentuk On Farm Research (OFR) di kebun karet yang belum menghasilkan umur 2 tahun yang berjarak tanam 5 x 3,5 m. Dimana jarak barisan tanaman karet 5 m dan jarak dalam barisan karet 3,5 m. Perlakuan 5 varietas jagung yaitu Bima-10, Bima-19, Pioner-21 dan Bisi-18 dan Sukmaraga. Luas petakan tiap perlakuan 4 gawang karet (20 m x 20 m). Jarak antar plot 1 gawangan karet (5 m) dan jarak ulangan 1 m. Setiap perlakuan diulang 4 kali. Rancangan yang digunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa Varietas jagung Pioneer-21 mempunyai postur tinggi tanaman tertinggi yaitu 142,7 cm dan jumlah daun 9,9 helai sedangkan terrendah Bima 10 yaitu 137,9 cm dengan jumlah daun 9,4 helai. Produksi pipilan kering tertinggi tanaman jagung dihasilkan oleh BISI-18 sebesar 4,1 ton/ha tanaman karet, sedangkan produksi terendah 2,2 ton/ha tanaman karet dari jagung Bima-19. Varietas jagung BISI-18, Bima-10, Pioneer-21 dan Sukmaraga dapat beradaptasi pada tanaman karet umur di bawah 2 tahun setelah tanam dengan produksi berkisar 3,2-4,1 ton pipilan kering/ha tanaman karet dan usahatani dengan menggunakan keempat varietas ini layak dikembangkan dengan nilai R/C 2,46-3,03. Dengan pendapatan bersihnya Rp 9.520.000 - Rp 13.745.000/ha tanaman karet dapat menutupi biaya produksi yang dikeluarkan, sehingga mampu untuk memulai kembali usaha sejenis.

    Abstract: Juwita Y, Karman J, Hutapea Y, Suparwoto S. 2020. Suitability of rubber plantation land intercropped with corn (Zea mays L) plants in Kelurahan Betung. Jurnal Lahan Suboptimal: Journal of Suboptimal Lands 9(1): 73-79.Rubber is one of the leading commodities of plantations in South Sumatra, especially in Banyuasin District. The opportunity for unused footpath land is a big potential in increasing farmers' income. In Betung Village, besides rubber, the community also raises livestock such as cows. This study aimed to provide information on the actual soil fertility status and see the suitability of the land in the study area when planted with corn plants, as well as the recommendations for the needed technology. The study used a survey method and the soil samples were taken using purposive random sampling method by determining the point diagonally and analyzed in the laboratory. The results of the study showed that the land suitability class at the location was according to the marginal with the limiting factors of water availability (rainfall) and nutrient retention (KB and pH). To obtain optimal corn production results, it is recommended to prepare a rainwater collection area and the addition of lime and organic matter.
