Abstract:
The output energies of Rh-6G dye lasers were enhanced by energy transfer in mixtures of Rh-6G/C-545 and Rh-6G/Rh-560. The laser was pumped by a coaxial flashlamp filled with argon gas. The output energies were enhanced by about 70% and 30%, respectively, using 0.4∼1 % C-545 and Rh-560 mixtures with respect to the concentration of Rh-6G. Comparison of experimental results and calculations showed that the dominant energy transfer mechanisms were the nonradiative transfer from S 2 → S 0 of Rh-6G to S 0 → S 1 of donor, and then the radiative transfer from S 1 → S 0 of donor to S 0 → S 1 of acceptor, Rh-6G.
