Abstract:  In this work, a nanocomposite photocatalyst was fabricated by growing zinc oxide (ZnO) and titanium dioxide (TiO2) on the sand as a substrate. The initial sand/ZnO was fabricated via sol-gel immersion method for 4 h at 95℃. Furthermore, the sand/ZnO/TiO2 was fabricatedusing hydrothermal method for 5 h at 150℃. Based on field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) analysis, the fabricated sand/ZnO/TiO2 consists of random formation of hexagonal ZnO nanorods and two pyramidal spindle ends of TiO2 nanorods. The addition of TiO2 on top of ZnO nanorods increased the number of active sites which enables more contaminants to be absorbed thus enhanced the photocatalysis process. Moreover, based on the micro-Raman spectra, the synthesized TiO2 was in rutile phase and the ZnO peak was unobservable due to the overlapping with TiO2 peak. Based on its morphological and structural properties, the fabricated sand/ZnO/TiO2 nanocomposite was potential to be applied as photocatalyst.

Abstract: This study focuses on analyzing the spending patterns of youths from across the B40 and M40 income strata living in Kuala Lumpur. To achieve the objectives of this study, an analytical framework was developed that prioritizes needs. These needs include basic necessities, shelter and health, family, religious matters, and free time. The results of this study show that there is no significant difference between the two groups in terms of spending patterns. However, there is a difference in terms of priorities, which are led by the desire to guarantee survival in the city. Basic necessities, such as house ownership, feature as top topics in the discussion of expenditure, especially among lower and middle-income groups. However, the pricing of homes which renders them unattainable to these two groups, especially in the urban setting, results in expenses related to home purchases not being a main item in their spending patterns. This study highlights that the type of residence contributes to the shaping of the lifestyle and spending patterns of urban youth.

Abstract: The Covid-19 crisis brought with it significant changes to human lives including changes to behaviour. Particularly, the Coronavirus lockdowns and other restrictions contributed to the rise of online shopping for agricultural products in China’s first and second-tier cities. The core aim of the investigation is to evaluate the factors that influence the satisfaction of users with online agricultural products in first and second-tier cities in China during the pandemic. The research methodology is qualitative and relies on interpretivism to examine the experiences regarding the satisfaction of users with online agricultural products in first and second- tier cities in China during the crisis. An inductive approach is applied and the specific data collection instrument in this research entails semi-structured interviews to facilitate a comprehensive inquiry and gain rich insights. Semi-structured interview sessions are conducted with 30 participants including Chinese shoppers who used online agricultural products between 2019 and 2022 just before the Covid-19 crisis or during the pandemic. The research findings indicate that optimism was found to be crucial to the increased consumption of online agricultural products and high quality emerged as the most influential factor behind users’ satisfaction with online agricultural products. However, online agricultural product sellers in China need to ensure excellence in their operations to succeed in the competitive online marketplace. Conclusively, this investigation achieved its overarching aim of evaluating the factors that influence the satisfaction of users with online agricultural products in first and second-tier cities in China during the pandemic.
