Abstract: The study assesses the influence of labor and infrastructure on attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) to the provinces of Vietnam in the period of 2009 - 2020. Research results from linear regression model and random effects estimation method have confirmed the importance of human capital and infrastructure in attracting FDI. The labor-related aspects in this study confirm that tendency of MNEs focusing on labor-intensive industries in Vietnam has not changed. The study also provides policy implications as building and improving the quality of infrastructure with the main goal of reducing inequality in attracting more FDI inflows to Vietnam's provinces in the near future. In addition, the workforce needs to have a plan to prepare themselves with solid knowledge and necessary skills to hone and absorb the know-how transferred from foreign investment companies, to have an ability to contribute to the development of the quality of our country's human resources.

Abstract: Background: Covid - 19 is a global pandemic, affecting all areas of social life in every country. In the current conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic, individual health behaviors are of primary importance. Each citizen consciously implements their health behaviors not only to prevent them from being infected but also to help the country's prevention of Covid-19 effective. The study of factors predicting people’s health behaviors in the community will help managers come up with appropriate measures to improve public health and to quickly repel the pandemic. Objectives: The research analyzes factors predicting personal health behaviors during the Covid-19 pandemic in Vietnam, including: pandemic awareness, self-assessment of the possibility of becoming infected, fear of disease, quality of life, and mental health (anxiety). Methods:  This was a cross-sectional quantitative study. Data were collected from a convenient sample of 572 people in Vietnam (118 males, 451 females; M age =27.0 (sd = 10.0) ) by a means of an online questionnaire survey. The questionnaire was constructed based on the YouGov Behavior Change questionnaire; the Fear of Coronavirus-19 Scale (FCV-19), WHOQOL-BREF, the Moral Foundation Questionnaire, and Knowledge of Covid-19. This study performed multivariate regression analysis to explore effects of moral, quality of life, knowledge and fear of Coronavirus-19 on health behaviors of participants. Result: The result showed that fear and sex factors explain 4% (R2-adj = 4%) of health behavior change in the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, there is a signìicant relationship between health behaviors and fear, age, gender, and occupation. Conclusion: People's health behaviors are particularly concerned during the Covid-19 pandemic. Community healthcare activities for the people should be tailored to suit different population groups such as gender, age or emotional experiences. More in-depth studies are needed to find out the causes of these differences, thereby proposing practical solutions to help people practice more effective health behaviors, contributing to preventing and combating the outbreak.

Abstract: Every year, a large amount of waste gypsum, a by-product of fertilizer production, was produced and landfilled that increasing the harm to the environment. In this study, for the purpose of utilizing waste gypsum, it was studied as the filler in blend of high density polyethylene (HDPE) and ethyelene vinyl acetated (EVA) with anti UV additives in order to improve the mechanical strength and lifespan of this composite. After using ethylene bis stearamide (EBS) to modify waste gypsum, modified waste gypsum (mGyp) and anti-UV additives at various contents were dispersed into HDPE/EVA blend by melt-mixing method to obtain HDPE/EVA/mGyp composites. As the results, the color difference and tensile strength of composite using additives did not changed much after 20 cycles of accelerated weathering test. In the presence of anti-UV additives, the photodegradation process was inhibited by showing the low carbonyl index of composite compared with samples without additives. Beside, the structure of composite using anti-UV additives is smooth and without cracks after accelerated weathering test as observed in SEM images. That led to the tensile strength of sample did not change much.

Abstract: The paper was conducted to survey and review the effects of exchange rate volatility on trade performance. Since the last review articles by McKenzie and Bahmani-Oskooe and Hegerty, the literature has experienced a surge in the number of articles. Many of the recent studies have been empirical in nature and these deserve specific attention. There is often more than one measure of volatility applied in a study, and some new measures of exchange rate volatility are introduced. Although there are relatively new econometric models being applied in this research area, the determinants of trade performance in recent studies are simple. In addition, the number of studies using bilateral trade data levels has increased over time. Although a large number of studies are reviewed in this study, existing empirical evidence on the trade effects of exchange rate volatility is generally inconclusive. These new contributions set the stage for this review.

Abstract: The main purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of exchange rate pass-through (ERPT) on domestic price of goods and services in Vietnam under the impact of the interest rate and refinancing rate over the period 2014 to 2019. Unit root test and many Diagnostic tests are conducted before applying the Vector Auto Regressive (VAR) model. Estimation results indicate that exchange rate changes have a positive impact on domestic consumer price level means that an increase in the depreciation of Vietnam dong could cause an increase in domestic price, the degree of ERPT into domestic price level is smaller than interest rate and refinancing one. The study also indicates many problems existing in the actual situation in Vietnam. From those analysis results, the study has proposed monetary policy orientations to help stabilize prices and develop macroeconomics.

Abstract: The gravity model is an econometric model used an as effective tool to explain the volume and direction of bilateral trade between countries. It is widely used in international trade and thus, in this article, we use the gravity model to examine the trade creation and diversion effects of ASEAN-China Free Trade Agreement (ACFTA) for the seafood industry by estimating the gravity trade model for the time period between 2003 and 2020 and between 10 countries. Initially, the estimation applied panel data with ordinary least squares (OLS) estimation, but there was a problem with heteroscedasticity and autocorrelation using the OLS estimator. Therefore, we will re-estimate the model by using the fixed effects model (FEM) and random effects model (REM). We estimate twice, once with data including 2020 and once excluding 2020 to understand the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on commercial trends. The estimated results show that trade creation influences seafood. It is possible that the COVID-19 pandemic has no impact on trade diversion and creation, or that the 2020 data is too short for us to assess this impact. In conclusion, this article has achieved certain success in explaining the causes affecting trade flow in processed goods due to differences between the general tariff rate and the preferential tariff rate for ASEAN - Chinese seafood, and the close distance between commercial partners and converting certificate of origin (C/O) of goods to export. Analysis using the gravity model shows a positive impact on Vietnam's seafood trade flow when joining ACFTA.

Abstract: An increase in the international trade value of high-tech products is seen as an important demonstration of Vietnam’s transformation of the international trade structure from labour-intensive to technology-intensive. Focusing on the export aspect of international trade, this study analyzes the impact of national technological achievements on our country’s exports of high-tech goods. The Augmented gravity model was applied to the sample of Vietnam and 49 major trading partners in the period 2009-2018. The estimation results show that the export value of high-tech products in Vietnam is significantly impacted by the technological achievements of our country while not affected by the technological achievements of the partner countries.
