    Abstract: Prediction of milling force plays an important role in milling process of titanium alloy. In this paper, the milling process of titanium alloy is studied, and the material quality is affected directly by the milling force. Support vector regression (SVR) has shown a prominent performance for many practical applications. Although there is some literature about parameter optimization techniques of SVR model, it still needs further research and improvement on the performance and accuracy of this model. We present a hybrid milling force prediction model, namely DE&SVR, which hybridizes the SVR with differential evolution (DE) to enhance the prediction accuracy for milling force of titanium alloy. The main advantage of hybrid model is that the DE is adopted to optimize the kernel parameters of the SVR. The main parameters affecting milling force, such as the milling depth, feeding speed, and cutting speed, are considered in this study. The results have shown that the hybrid model yields better prediction accuracy, and the percentage prediction milling force deviation is found to be less than 3.5% for all the cases tested, 〈span style="font-style: italic;"〉NRMSE〈/span〉 is only 0.0200, and 〈span style="font-style: italic;"〉MAPE〈/span〉 is only 1.4791%. Thus, this methodology can be widely applied to the fields of material processing optimization.

    Abstract: Recently, magnonic crystals which are the magnetic counterparts of photonic crystals or phononic crystals are becoming a hot area of research. In this paper, band structure of two-dimensional magnotic crystal composed of square rods triangularly arranged are calculated by using the plane-wave expansion method. Spin-wave band structures of two-dimensional magnonic crystal composed of Fe triangularly arranged Fe in an EuO matrix. The results show that when the filling ratio f=0.4, only two absolute band gaps can be found in the case of θ=0°. The first gap appears between the first band and the second band, the second gap between the sixth band and the seventh band. However, the number of band gaps can be improved by rotating the square rods through θ=25°, there are eight absolute band gaps that can be found. The first gap appears between the first band and the second band, the fifth gap between the sixth band and the seventh band. The new band gaps can be found, the second gap appears between the third band and the fourth band, the third gap between the fourth band and the fifth band, the fourth gap between the fifth band and the sixth band, the sixth gap between the seventh band and the eighth band, the seventh gap between the eighth band and the ninth band, the eighth gap between the ninth band and the tenth band. These results show that it is possible to create spin-wave gaps by rotating square rods in a two-dimensional magnotic crystal. The numerical results of the normalized gap width ΔΩ/Ωg of the first gap between the first band and the second band always changes with filling fraction f and rotational angles θ. When f=0.6 we calculated the first normalized gap width ΔΩ/Ωg. when f=0.6 and θ=0°, the first gap width ΔΩ=0.812(μ0ω/g) and the normalized gap width ΔΩ/Ωg=0.9187. The results show that from the first normalized gap widths the largest one can be found when f=0.6 and θ=5°, the first gap width ΔΩ=0.937(μ0ω/g) and the normalized gap width ΔΩ/Ωg=0.9591. The results show that the numerical, rotating square rods can make the low frequency band gap widen in the triangular lattice of two-dimensional magnonic crystal.

    Abstract: lsa (E) is a pleuromutilin, lincosamide, and streptogramin A (PLSA phenotype) resistance gene that was first described in S. aureus and was thought to have been transferred from Enterococcus sp. This study aimed to elucidate the prevalence of the lsa (E) gene among E. faecium isolates at a tertiary teaching hospital and to evaluate the transferability of the lsa (E) gene from E. faecium to S. aureus in vitro . A total of 96 E. faecium strains isolated from one hospital in Beijing in 2013 were analysed for quinupristin-dalfopristin (QDA) resistance genes, and multilocus sequence typing (MLST) was performed. The transferability of QDA resistance between ten E. faecium strains and four S. aureus strains was determined by filter mating. Genome sequencing of the transconjugant was performed. A total of 46 E. faecium isolates (46/96, 47.92%) tested positive for lsa (E), while two isolates (2/96, 2.08%) tested positive for lsa (A). Thirty-six lsa (E)-positive strains (36/46, 78.3%) belonged to ST78. Among 40 mating tests, lsa (E) was successfully transferred through one conjugation at a frequency of 1.125 × 10 –7 transconjugants per donor. The QDA resistance of the transconjugant N7435-R3645 was expressed at a higher level (MIC = 16 mg/L) than that of the parent S. aureus strain (MIC = 0.38 mg/L). Next-generation sequencing (NGS) analysis of the transconjugant N7435-R3645 showed that the complete sequence of the lsa (E)-carrying plasmid pN7435-R3645 had a size of 92,396 bp and a G + C content of 33% (accession no. MT022086 ). The genetic map of pN7435-R3645 had high nucleotide similarity and shared the main open reading frame (ORF) features with two plasmids: E. faecium pMG1 (AB206333.1) and E. faecium LS170308 (CP025078.1). The rep gene of pN7435-R3645 showed 100% identity with that of pMG1, although it did not belong to the rep 1-19 family but instead a unique rep family. Multiple antibiotic resistance genes, including lsa (E), aadE and lnu (B), erm (B), ant6 -Ia, and lnu (B), were present on the plasmid. In conclusion, an lsa (E)-carrying plasmid that can be transferred by conjugation from E. faecium to S. aureus in vitro was identified. This multidrug resistance (MDR) pMG1-like plasmid may act as a vector in the dissemination of antimicrobial resistance among species.

    Abstract: At present, all cell strains derived from acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) patients with the long arm of chromosome 11 aberration are accompanied with mixed lineage leukemia ( MLL ) gene rearrangement. In this study, we established a permanent ALL cell strain CHH-1 with the long arm of chromosome 11 aberration and without MLL rearrangement, hoping that it could be used for the research of ALL with such genetic abnormality. CHH-1 cell strain was certified through morphology, immunophenotype, genetics and immunoglobulin (Ig) gene rearrangement analysis. Cell characteristics including tumorigenic ability, semisolid colony forming ability, telomerase activity, autocrine and invasion were further detected. Cells were with an add(11)(q23) structural abnormality without MLL rearrangement, and were consistent with the genetic abnormality of the patient. In addition, these cells had features of tumor-forming ability, high colony forming capacity, unique cytokine autocrine mode, high telomerase activity, and high invasion ability. CHH-1 may prove to be a useful cell model for the research of human leukemia with genetic aberration in chromosome 11, and help explore the role of such genetic abnormality in the pathogenesis, progression and prognosis of ALL, and in developing new target drugs.

    Abstract: H. pylori induces a complicated local and systematic immune response and contributes to the carcinogenesis of gastric cancer. A primary type 1 immune response is evoked by H. pylori since its occurrence. However, it is not unusual that an inhibitory immunity is dominant in H. pylori -associated diseases, which are promoted by the formation of immunosuppressive microenvironment. But whether group 2 innate lymphoid cells (ILC2s) plays a critical role in H. pylori -induced skewed type 2 immunity is still unclear. In the present study, firstly, we confirmed that type 1 immunity was inhibited and type 2 immunity were undisturbed or promoted after H. pylori infection in vitro and in vivo. Secondly, GATA-3 was firstly found to be increased in the interstitial lymphocytes from H. pylori -associated gastric cancer, among them, Lin−GATA-3 + cells and Lin + GATA-3 + cells were also found to be enhanced, which indicated an important role for ILC2s in H. pylori infection. More importantly, ILC2s were found to be increased after H. pylori infection in clinical patients and animal models. In conclusion, our results indicated that ILC2-mediated innate immune response might play a potential role in dominant type 2 phenotype and immunosuppressive microenvironment in H. pylori infection.

    Abstract: Background/Aims: Primary splenic angiosarcoma is an aggressive malignancy originating from endothelial cells with a particularly poor outcome despite radical therapy. Owing to its extremely low incidence, available data for splenic angiosarcoma are limited. The present study aimed to address this limitation by presenting a thorough retrospective analysis of Chinese primary splenic angiosarcoma patients over a 53-year period (1963-2016). Methods: To determine the characteristics of Chinese primary splenic angiosarcoma and identify factors that impact the outcomes of this histology, we retrospectively retrieved reports of 110 Chinese primary splenic angiosarcoma cases published between 1963-2012. Results: In total, 61 males and 49 females diagnosed with primary splenic angiosarcoma were included in the present study. The median age at diagnosis was 50 years (range 2.5–76 years). Of these patients, 25.5% had received prior radiotherapy. The rate of splenic rupture was 59.11%. The 1-year overall survival rate was 19.1% with a median overall survival time of 8.1 months. Age, gender, and radiation history showed no correlation with survival rate. However, by univariate analysis, we found that significant adverse predictors of survival were splenic rupture before surgery and large tumor size ( 〉 5 cm), while adjuvant chemotherapy was a favorable predictor. Furthermore, multivariate analysis revealed that splenic rupture and adjuvant chemotherapy were independent adverse and favorable predictors, respectively. Conclusion: Our large series describes and confirms the characteristics and poor prognosis of Chinese primary splenic angiosarcoma, thus indicating a critical role for early diagnosis and surgical intervention (prior to rupture) in management, and highlights the promising potential of adjuvant chemotherapy for improving the outcome in these cases.

    Abstract: Of the two cultivated species of allopolyploid cotton, Gossypium barbadense produces extra-long fibers for the production of superior textiles. We sequenced its genome (AD) 2 and performed a comparative analysis. We identified three bursts of retrotransposons from 20 million years ago (Mya) and a genome-wide uneven pseudogenization peak at 11–20 Mya, which likely contributed to genomic divergences. Among the 2,483 genes preferentially expressed in fiber, a cell elongation regulator, PRE1 , is strikingly A t biased and fiber specific, echoing the A-genome origin of spinnable fiber. The expansion of the PRE members implies a genetic factor that underlies fiber elongation. Mature cotton fiber consists of nearly pure cellulose. G. barbadense and G. hirsutum contain 29 and 30 cellulose synthase (CesA) genes, respectively; whereas most of these genes ( 〉 25) are expressed in fiber, genes for secondary cell wall biosynthesis exhibited a delayed and higher degree of up-regulation in G. barbadense compared with G. hirsutum , conferring an extended elongation stage and highly active secondary wall deposition during extra-long fiber development. The rapid diversification of sesquiterpene synthase genes in the gossypol pathway exemplifies the chemical diversity of lineage-specific secondary metabolites. The G. barbadense genome advances our understanding of allopolyploidy, which will help improve cotton fiber quality.
