Abstract: ULTRASONOGRAPHY AND HYSTEROSALPHYNOGRAPHY RELIABLE IN THE DIAGNOSIS OF HYDROSALPİNX?SUMMARYOBJECTIVE: Although the first step evaluation of infertile patients with uterine cavity and fallopian tubes is ultrasonography (USG), hysterosalpingography (HSG) is widely used because it is cheap, easily accessible and easy to interpret, although other advanced and effective methods are available at the next stage. In our study, we aimed to evaluate the correlation of HSG and USG with laparoscopy of patients with hydrosalpinx presumptive diagnosis and to show whether HSG and USG are super ior to each other in hyphrosalpinx diagnosis.METHODS: Between August 1, 2015 and April 1, 2017, 48 patients who were admitted to our obstetric gynecology out patient clinic for infertility, or who underwent hydrosalpinx in USG were included in the study. All patients underwent laparoscopy under general anesthesia. Laparoscopy was used to evaluate the incidence of free methylene blue in both tuba. Correlation of HSG or USG result with laparoscopy result was assessed as false diagnosis of HSG or USG. In the case of pathological findings on laparoscopy, HSG or USG diagnosis was accepted correctly.RESULTS: Of the 48 patients, 30 were primer infertile 18 were secondary to infertile. 26 patients were considered hydrosalpinx with HSG. Hydrosalpinx was confirmed in 15 (57.7%) of the patients after laparoscopy. Twenty-five patients underwent laparoscopy with USG and hydrosalpinx anterior diagnosis. In 17 (68%) hydrosalpinx was confirmed. In 3 patients, both USG and HSG had hydrosalpinx. The correlation of USG findings with laparoscopy was evaluated in these patients. There was no statistically significant difference between the diagnostic accuracy of HSG (57.7%) and the diagnostic accuracy of USG (68%). (P = 0.638). CONCLUSION: USG and HSG, which are the first-line evaluations of infertility, can diagnose hydrosalpinx cheaply and easily.

Abstract: IN WOMEN WHO APPLY FOR POSTMENOPAUSAL BLEEDING, IS ENDOMETRIAL CYTOLOGY SUFFICIENT TO DIAGNOSE ?SUMMARY OBJECTIVE: Endometrial cancer is the most common invasive neoplasm of the female genital tract and its incidence has increased in recent years. There is no screening test for early detection of endometrium carcinoma and its precursors. To evaluate the safety and comparability of cytologic endometrial samples obtained with Uterobrush for the diagnosis of endometrial pathologies in women with postmenopausal bleeding in our study with endometrial biopsy.METHODS: A total of 100 patients who were admitted to the gynecological policlinics of our hospital with postmenopausal bleeding between August 1, 2015 and April 1, 2017 were included in the study. Endoscopic and endometrial sampling were performed after local anesthesia, cytologic sampling, lithotomy position, and all cases after local anesthesia. Cytological sampling of endometrium was done by Uterobrush method. The brush was then taken to the solution for a liquid-based cytological examination. Endocervical and endometrial curettage was performed after dilatation.RESULTS: Our study also evaluated the feasibility and reliability of endometrial cytology using the Uterobrush method. Postmenopausal bleeding was observed in 63% (31), thickening in endometrium (%) and intrauterine fluid in% (6) when 100 patients were evaluated in terms of USG findings and indications before the procedure. Brush cytology showed no (94) malignant cells, (3) atrophic cells, (2) ascus cells and% (1) HGSIL cells in the brush cytology. When brush cytology and probe curettage (pc) histopathological results were compared, there were no malignant cells in brush cytology in 2 patients who had PC end result of endometrial adenocarcinoma. Brush cytology was evaluated as an inactive endometrium of pc from 2 patients from ascus. The cytology, which is the predominant endometrium, was also seen as an inactive endometrium in PC. CONCLUSION: Uterobrush is a technique used to obtain endometrial cytological specimens. Histological examination is still used as the gold standard for investigating endometrial pathology. In our study, endometrial cytological evaluation of Uterobrush method using endocervical brush was found to be inadequate to diagnose endometrial pathologies and it was found to be transmitted to cervical cells during sampling. In the diagnosis of postmenopausal bleeding, probe curettage uterobrush is the preferred gold standard method.

Abstract: Amaç: Hiperemezis gravidarum, hamile kadınlarda ciddi komplikasyonlardan daha sık depresyon veya anksiyete bozukluğuna yol açabilir.

Abstract: Although the number of studies conducted among pregnant women with coronavirus (COVID-19) is increasing rapidly, most of the studies are small-scale. Accordingly, data on the relationship between COVID-19 and pregnancy are limited. In addition, there is limited information about which complications COVID-19 causes in pregnant women compared to the normal population, and at what rates. This meta-analysis aimed to examine the data of studies and meta-analyses on pregnancies with COVID-19, and to determine the complication rates caused by COVID-19 in pregnancies. Methods: Clinical, observational, or cohort studies published (or epub ahead of print) between January 2020 and December 2021 in any language were scanned in PubMed and Google Scholar. While scanning, the combinations of the terms “COVID-19”, “SARS-CoV-2”, “coronavirus”, “pregnancy”, “PROM”, or “preterm birth” were used. Results: A total of 52 articles and data on 11088 pregnant women were included in the meta-analysis after the screening of 6166 studies. In addition, data belonging to 10 meta-analyses were examined in order to obtain additional information. In the studies covered by this meta-analysis, the rate of premature rupture of membranes was found in 16.8%; preterm birth in 10.3%; low birth weight newborns in 9.2%; maternal or fetal mortality in 3.0%, and other adverse outcomes (fetal distress or abnormal APGAR score, abortion, etc.) in 17.5%. The vertical contamination rate was found to be 2.1%. Conclusion: The findings obtained in this meta-analysis show that COVID-19 significantly increases the maternal or fetal mortality rate in pregnant women and has a negative effect on the preterm birth rate. According to the data we have obtained, COVID-19 also causes the development of some complications, such as fetal distress. The findings also show that COVID-19 is transmitted vertically at a rate of around 2% during pregnancy.
