    Abstract: The sensing behaviors of monolayer antimonide phosphorus (SbP) for hydrogen sulfide (H2S) are investigated by means of the density functional theory. In this paper, we calculated the best adsorption configuration, charge transfer, adsorption distance, band gap, electronic structure and recovery time of H2S on the SbP monolayer and mental-doped SbP (X-SbP). The calculated results indicate that Al atom replaces Sb atom of SbP (Al-Sb-SbP), adsorption capacity was greatly increased, but the covalent bond formed between the gas molecules and the substrate was not suitable for sensing materials. And though Co or Ni atom could improve the interactions between H2S gas and SbP sheets, the recovery time was too long. It was also not suitable for the sensor material of H2S gas. However, for Pd doped SbP, Pd-Sb and Pd-P doping all exhibit excellent gas sensing performance for H2S gas with the adsorption energy of -0.677eV and -0.520eV, the charge transfer 0.1113e and 0.0930e, the recovery time 0.19s and 5.30and#215;10-4 s, respectively. These characters made Pd-SbP suitable for H2S gas sensing material. Which further analysis we knew that these changes were mainly due to the orbital hybridization between the s, p orbitals of Pd atom and the p orbitals of S atom. Theoretical studies show that Pd-doped SbP is a promising H2S gas sensing material

    Abstract: This study aims to estimate prognostic indicators of new onset atrial fibrillation (AF) in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) through 3 to 5 years of follow‐up. Hypothesis For patients with ACS, some prognostic indicators can be used to predict new onset AF. Methods The Improving Care for Cardiovascular Disease in China‐ACS (CCC‐ACS) program was launched in 2014 by a collaborative initiative of the American Heart Association and Chinese Society of Cardiology. We enrolled 866 patients with ACS in a telephone follow‐up program. We inquired about each patient's general health and invited each patient to our hospital for further consultation. We also performed ambulatory electrocardiography and other relevant examinations. Results A total of 743 ACS patients were included in the study. After 3 to 5 years, 50 (0.67%) patients developed AF. In multivariable Cox models adjusting for AF risk factors in ACS patients, we found that NT‐proBNP [hazard ratio (HR) 2.625, 1.654‐4.166, P   〈  .05], creatine kinase‐MB (CK‐MB) (HR 4.279, 1.887‐9.703, P   〈  .05), and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) (HR 0.01, 0.001‐0.352, P   〈  .05) were significantly associated with AF receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were used to determine a cutoff level for AF screening. NT‐proBNP using a cutoff of 1705 ng/L resulted in a sensitivity of 58% and a specificity of 89.8%. CK‐MB using a cutoff of 142.5 ng/L resulted in a sensitivity of 73.3% and a specificity of 58.3%. Conclusion For patients with ACS, NT‐proBNP, CK‐MB, and LVEF have a considerable prognostic value for predicting whether AF would be detected during follow‐up.

    Abstract: Cotton plays an important role in the economy of many countries. Many studies have revealed that numerous genes and various metabolic pathways are involved in anther development. In this research, we studied the differently expressed mRNA and lncRNA during the anther development of cotton between the cytoplasmic male sterility (CMS) line, C2P5A, and the maintainer line, C2P5B, using RNA-seq analysis. We identified 17,897 known differentially expressed (DE) mRNAs, and 865 DE long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) that corresponded to 1172 cis-target genes at three stages of anther development using gene ontology (GO), Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment of DE mRNAs; and cis-target genes of DE lncRNAs probably involved in the degradation of tapetum cells, microspore development, pollen development, and in the differentiation, proliferation, and apoptosis of the anther cell wall in cotton. Of these DE genes, LTCONS_00105434, LTCONS_00004262, LTCONS_00126105, LTCONS_00085561, and LTCONS_00085561, correspond to cis-target genes Ghir_A09G011050.1, Ghir_A01G005150.1, Ghir_D05G003710.2, Ghir_A03G016640.1, and Ghir_A12G005100.1, respectively. They participate in oxidative phosphorylation, flavonoid biosynthesis, pentose and glucuronate interconversions, fatty acid biosynthesis, and MAPK signaling pathway in plants, respectively. In summary, the transcriptomic data indicated that DE lncRNAs and DE mRNAs were related to the anther development of cotton at the pollen mother cell stage, tetrad stage, and microspore stage, and abnormal expression could lead to anther abortion, resulting in male sterility of cotton.

    Abstract: Background: Studies on the biomechanical mechanisms of an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury have been extensively studied, but studies on the neuromuscular control-related risk factors for an ACL injury in specific maneuvers have not been reported for badminton players. Study design: Controlled laboratory study. Methods: Sixteen badminton players (8 male, 8 female) performed a single-leg badminton ball landing task, and lower limb muscle activity, kinematic data, and ground reaction force were measured during this procedure using marker-based movement analysis, force plates, and electromyography (EMG). Gender differences in the lower limb kinematic data, mean values of normalized lower limb muscle activation (MVC%), and co-contraction values during the landing preparation phase (100 ms before initial contact) were analyzed using MANOVA. Results: In the badminton landing task, the knee valgus angle was greater in females than in males (6.27 ± 2.75 vs. 1.72 ± 3.20) in the pre-landing preparation position. Compared to male badminton players, females exhibited greater gluteus maximus (44.92 ± 18.00 vs. 20.34 ± 11.64), rectus femoris (41.56 ± 9.84 vs. 26.14 ± 10.46), and medial gastrocnemius (37.39 ± 17.31 vs. 19.11 ± 11.17) lateral gastrocnemius (36.86 ± 17.82 vs. 13.59 ± 2.71) muscle activity (MVC%). Conclusion: Female badminton players exhibit neuromuscular control strategies that may be inadequate for ACL protection and may be a potential risk factor for a high incidence of ACL injury In the future, when devising injury prevention plans for female badminton players, optimizing neuromuscular control during the pre-landing phase can be targeted.

    Abstract: Verticillium dahliae (V. dahliae) infects roots and colonizes the vascular vessels of host plants, significantly reducing the economic yield of cotton and other crops. In this study, the protein VdTHI20, which is involved in the thiamine biosynthesis pathway, was characterized by knocking out the corresponding VdTHI20 gene in V. dahliae via Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation (ATMT). The deletion of VdTHI20 resulted in several phenotypic defects in vegetative growth and conidiation and in impaired virulence in tobacco seedlings. We show that VdTHI20 increases the tolerance of V. dahliae to UV damage. The impaired vegetative growth of ΔVdTHI20 mutant strains was restored by complementation with a functional copy of the VdTHI20 gene or by supplementation with additional thiamine. Furthermore, the root infection and colonization of the ΔVdTHI20 mutant strains were suppressed, as indicated by green fluorescent protein (GFP)-labelling under microscope observation. When the RNAi constructs of VdTHI20 were used to transform Nicotiana benthamiana, the transgenic lines expressing dsVdTHI20 showed elevated resistance to V. dahliae. Together, these results suggest that VdTHI20 plays a significant role in the pathogenicity of V. dahliae. In addition, the pathogenesis-related gene VdTHI20 exhibits potential for controlling V. dahliae in important crops.

    Abstract: Pixel pitch calibration is an essential step to make the fundus structures in the fundus image quantitatively measurable, which is important for the diagnosis and treatment of many diseases, e.g., diabetes, arteriosclerosis, hereditary optic atrophy, etc. The conventional calibration approaches require the specific parameters of the fundus camera or several specially shot images of the chess board, but these are generally not accessible, and the calibration results cannot be generalized to other cameras. Based on automated ROI (region of interest) and optic disc detection, the diameter ratio of ROI and optic disc (ROI–disc ratio) is quantitatively analyzed for a large number of fundus images. With the prior knowledge of the average diameter of an optic disc in fundus, the pixel pitch can be statistically estimated from a large number of fundus images captured by a specific camera without the availability of chess board images or detailed specifics of the fundus camera. Furthermore, for fundus cameras of FOV (fixed field-of-view), the pixel pitch of a fundus image of 45° FOV can be directly estimated according to the automatically measured diameter of ROI in the pixel. The average ROI–disc ratio is approximately constant, i.e., 6.404 ± 0.619 in the pixel, according to 40,600 fundus images, captured by different cameras, of 45° FOV. In consequence, the pixel pitch of a fundus image of 45° FOV can be directly estimated according to the automatically measured diameter of ROI in the pixel, and results show the pixel pitches of Canon CR2, Topcon NW400, Zeiss Visucam 200, and Newvision RetiCam 3100 cameras are 6.825 ± 0.666 μm, 6.625 ± 0.647 μm, 5.793 ± 0.565 μm, and 5.884 ± 0.574 μm, respectively. Compared with the manually measured pixel pitches, based on the method of ISO 10940:2009, i.e., 6.897 μm, 6.807 μm, 5.693 μm, and 6.050 μm, respectively, the bias of the proposed method is less than 5%. Since our method doesn’t require chess board images or detailed specifics, the fundus structures on the fundus image can be measured accurately, according to the pixel pitch obtained by this method, without knowing the type and parameters of the camera.
