Abstract:
Transition metal nickel sulfide is widely used in supercapacitors and Li–S batteries due to its excellent capacity, low cost, and environmental friendliness. This article is a continuation of our previous studies, where the hydrothermal method was used to grow Ni 3 S 4 on the carbon nanofiber network. The physicochemical properties of Ni 3 S 4 /CNFs were characterized by XRD, SEM, and XPS methods. Afterward, a Ni–Zn battery was assembled, and its electrochemical properties were analyzed using an electrochemical workstation and a Land system. The discharge specific capacity reached 215 mA h g −1 at a current density of 5 A g −1 . After 100 cycles, the battery retained a specific discharge capacity of 176 mA h g −1 and a retention rate of around 82%. A series of tests indicated that the application of Ni 3 S 4 /CNFs in aqueous rechargeable Ni–Zn batteries is a feasible and promising approach.
