    Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a widespread shift to online education around the world and in Hungary, too. Educational institutions from kindergartens to universities were forced to adapt rapidly to this new situation, when the space of education moved from classrooms to online video meetings; the regular methods and tools needed to be changed or modified. Nonetheless, we should keep in mind that online education itself was an already existing concept before the pandemic as part of digitalization as a current societal megatrend, however it was not widely used in educational institutions across different programs. By 2021, there are university students who have mostly or exclusively participated in higher education online. Online classes could be a new normal situation to these students instead of the pre-pandemic personal activities in physical classrooms, leading to altering the norms of participation. In our research, we collected answers to open-ended sentences from such students. As we wish to understand how students perceive the differences between online and offline education, we investigated the perceived advantages and disadvantages of online-only education, how this influenced their social networks, study efficiency and their whole experience in university education.

    Autológőssejt-transzplantációt követő korai infekciók epidemiológiája. Egy hazai centrumban kezelt 699 beteg adatainak elemzése

    Abstract: Bevezetés: Az autológ haemopoeticus őssejtek transzplantációja ígéretes kezelési lehetőség egyes malignus és nem malignus betegségek körében. A beavatkozás ugyanakkor szövődményekkel járhat, ezek közül kiemelkedő fontosságúak a korai, illetve késői poszttranszplantációs szakban fellépő infekciók. Célkitűzés: A korai ( 〈 +100 nap) poszttranszplantációs infekciók gyakoriságának és kórokozóinak vizsgálata, továbbá a halálozás rizikótényezőinek meghatározása. Módszer: A 2007 és 2014 között intézetünkben autológ haemopoeticus őssejtek transzplantációjával kezelt 699 beteg prospektíven gyűjtött adatait retrospektív módon vizsgáltuk és dolgoztuk fel. Eredmények: A 699 beteg medián életkora 56 (interkvartilis tartomány: 43–62) év, 54%-uk (376 fő) férfi. 25 pácienst más centrumba irányítottak vissza további gondozásra, 19 beteg utánkövetése pedig megszakadt. A betegek 69,8%-ában (488 fő) fordult elő neutropeniás láz. 96 betegben (13,7%) összesen 102 infekciós epizódot azonosítottunk. A leggyakrabban – összesen 49 epizódban – bacteriaemiát észleltünk. Ezek előfordulási mediánja 7 (5–11) nap volt a transzplantációt követően. A bacteriaemiák döntő többsége (33/49) a megtapadás előtt lépett fel. Incidenciájuk a malignus lymphomában szenvedő betegek esetében szignifikánsan magasabb volt, mint a plazmasejt-rendellenességekben szenvedő csoportban (p = 0,0005, OR: 2,41, 95% CI: 1,49–3,99). Vírusfertőzés 12, míg bizonyított vagy valószínű invazív gombainfekció 8 alkalommal következett be. A poszttranszplantációs +100 napig követett 655 páciensnél a kórházi halálozás 2,4% (16 fő) volt, amelyből 8 haláleset infekciós szövődménnyel állt összefüggésben. A korai infekciók kedvezőtlenül befolyásolták a túlélést (p = 0,0001). Következtetés: Autológőssejt-transzplantáltakban az ismeretlen eredetű, neutropeniás láz gyakori. A dokumentált bacteriaemiák aránya azonban alacsony. A plazmasejtes alapbetegség miatt kezeltekhez képest a lymphomás betegekben nagyobb valószínűséggel lép fel bacteriaemia. A korai infekciók rontják a túlélés esélyeit, így megelőzésük és hatékony kezelésük továbbra is kiemelt fontosságú. Orv Hetil. 2020; 161(3): 103–109.

    Aggregated Roles of Smartphones in Young Adults’ Leisure and Well-Being: A Diary Study

    Abstract: Young adults spend most of their leisure time in the company of their smartphones. Drawing on the theory of digital well-being and on the concept of psychological sustainability, our aim is to investigate the relationship between digitalization-dominated leisure-time consumption to identify the aggregated roles of smartphones. We suggest that smartphones play different roles in young adults’ daily life. To test our predictions, we used a qualitative method, a two-day time-use diary with structured interviews; two sample groups were recruited for data gathering. The results of the content analysis and of the qualitative sentiment analysis show that mobile devices have a marked agenda-setter function, along with the functions of ‘separator’ and ‘enabler’. The use of smartphones leads to idleness and perceived timelessness while staying physically immobile. Results expand our knowledge on the aggregated role of smartphones in young adults’ activities. Wider society can benefit from the research findings, stimulating young adults to acknowledge the aggregated roles and functions of their smartphones and to develop their digital well-being.

    Abstract: The construct of meaningful work (MW) has become the subject of various studies. Workers who experience MW have higher career and organizational commitment, report fewer days absent, and are characterized by a higher level of well-being. The aim of this study is to test a measure of MW, the Work and Meaning Inventory by Steger et al. This measure was created on theoretical background, and it constructs MW from three dimensions: psychological meaning, meaning-making, and greater good motivation. Methods The analysis was conducted in a Hungarian sample (N = 2,498), using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), and multiple-group CFA. Results The three-dimensional model of the WAMI was confirmed in the analysis. In our study, the measure proved to be reliable, even in the test–retest analysis. Moreover, the discriminant and convergent validity of the WAMI was tested, with various relevant constructs: the presence and the search for life meaning, life satisfaction, and job satisfaction. Also a multiple-group CFA was conducted with the three-factor model, confirming measurement invariance regarding sex and working position. Conclusions In line with the original version of the WAMI, the three-dimensional model was confirmed, with good psychometric properties in the Hungarian working context.

    Activation of an alfalfa cyclin‐dependent kinase inhibitor by calmodulin‐like domain protein kinase

    Abstract: Kip‐related proteins (KRPs) play a central role in the regulation of the cell cycle and differentiation through modulation of cyclin‐dependent kinase (CDK) functions. We have identified a CDK inhibitor gene from Medicago truncatula (Mt) by a yeast two‐hybrid screen. The KRPMt gene was expressed in all plant organs and cultured cells, and its transcripts accumulated after abscisic acid and NaCl treatment. The KRPMt protein exhibits seven conserved sequence domains and a PEST motif that is also detected in various Arabidopsis KRPs. In the yeast two‐hybrid test, the KRPMt protein interacted with CDK (Medsa;CDKA;1) and D‐type cyclins. However, in the pull‐down assays, B‐type CDK complexes were also detectable. Recombinant KRPMt differentially inhibited various alfalfa CDK complexes in phosphorylation assays. The immunoprecipitated Medsa;CDKA;1/A;2 complex was strongly inhibited, whereas the mitotic Medsa;CDKB2;1 complex was the most sensitive to inhibition. Function of Medsa;CDKB1;1 complex was not inhibited by the KRPMt protein. The mitotic Medsa;CYCB2 and Medsa;CYCA2;1 complexes responded weakly to this inhibitor protein. Kinase complexes from G 2 /M cells showed increased sensitivity towards the inhibitor compared with those isolated from G 1 /S‐phase cells. In vitro phosphorylation of Medicago retinoblastoma‐related protein was also reduced in the presence of KRPMt. Phosphorylation of this inhibitor protein by the recombinant calmodulin‐like domain protein kinase (MsCPK3) resulted in enhanced inhibition of CDK function. The data presented emphasize the selective sensitivity of various cyclin‐dependent kinase complexes to this inhibitor protein, and suggest a role for CDK inhibitors and CPKs in cross‐talk between Ca 2+ signalling and regulation of cell‐cycle progression in plants.

    Abstract: A TANULMÁNY CÉLJA Kutatásunk célja a pénzügyi szolgáltatók hirdetéseiben megjelenő érvek vizsgálata, különös tekintettel a COVID-19 járvány kitörése óta és az az előtt közvetlenül megjelent hirdetések összehasonlítása. A kutatás során arra kívántunk választ kapni, hogy vajon csak a pénzügyi szolgáltatók hirdetéseinek elemzéséből következtethetünk-e arra, hogy az egészségügyi krízis okozott-e globális gazdasági válságot. ALKALMAZOTT MÓDSZERTAN Megközelítésünket olyan korábban megjelent kutatásokra alapoztuk, amelyek egyértelműen bemutatják, hogy a válságok alatt megváltoznak az egyes hirdetések az érvek tekintetében, valamint olyanokra, amelyek a hirdetéseket a társadalmunk egyfajta tükörképeként értelmezik. Kutatásunk során az audiovizuális tartalomelemzés módszertanára támaszkodtunk. Az elemzéshez egy objektív szempontrendszer állítottunk fel, mely egyes szavakra, témakörökre vagy éppen az üzenet tárgyára fókuszál és kiválasztottuk azokat a pénzintézeteket, amelyeknek a legtöbb elérhető hirdetését sikerült fellelni a 2020-21-es és a 2018-19-es időszakra. A minta három pénzügyi szolgáltató (Erste Bank, K & H Bank, Cofidis) reklámjából állt és a kutatás során vizsgáltuk a szakirodalom által korábban feltárt reklámérvek megjelenését és dinamikáját. LEGFONTOSABB EREDMÉNYEK Az eredmények alapján úgy találtuk, hogy bár a szakirodalom bizonyos mértékben visszaigazolást nyert az elemzésünk alapján, nem találtunk egységes mintázatokat a három szolgáltató esetében, így azt a következtetést vontuk le, hogy csak a szolgáltatók hirdetései alapján nem feltétlenül következtethetünk arra, hogy az egészségügyi válság egyben gazdasági válság is lenne. GYAKORLATI JAVASLATOK A pénzügyi szolgáltatók közötti eltérés indokolja a kommunikáció különbségeit. Egy bank krízishelyzetben veszít népszerűségéből, így szükséges megelőzni a likviditási válság kialakulását. Ennek okán fontos hangsúlyt helyezni az imázsépítésre. Egy gyorshitelező esetében, a kölcsönök felvétele megnövekszik, ezért fontos felhívni a fogyasztók figyelmét a kockázatokra annak érdekében, hogy később a potenciális disputák elkerülhetők legyenek.
