Abstract: Diabetes has become a global health issue on a worldwide scale in our present day. In addition to long-term treatment, diabetes is a chronic disease with the participation of individuals in the disease and treatment processes, the self-care and self-efficacy of individuals. Individuals include complementary and supportive practices, along with medical treatments such as medication, nutrition and exercise, into disease management processes. Complementary and supportive practices are among the practices frequently preferred by individuals in the management of chronic diseases. Complementary and supportive practices are preferred due to the side effects of the treatment protocols used in diabetes, which is one of the common chronic diseases, problems in the process of adherence with drug treatment and the need for long-term medical treatment, as well as the cost-effectiveness of complementary and supportive applications, easy accessibility and applicability. Aromatherapy, which is one of these practices, is preferred because it is effective, reliable, and can be easily applied by the patient. Aromatherapy is known as the use of essential oils obtained from plants for therapeutic purposes. Although aromatherapy has different methods of application, inhalation and massage often come to the fore. Positive effects of the application on anxiety, fatigue, sleep problems, and neuropathic pain were reported as a result of many studies. In line with the results of the study, it should be supported with more sample groups and randomized controlled studies in this field. This review was planned to emphasize aromatherapy usage areas, methods of application, and their effectiveness in diabetes management.

Abstract: Amaç: Bu araştırma, Bolu Evde Sağlık Hizmetleri (ESH) biriminde, hizmet kapsamına alınan hastaların klinik özellikleri, evde bakım hizmetinden yararlanma nedenleri ve hizmet dağılımlarının belirlenmesi amacıyla planlanmıştır.

Abstract: Aim: During the epidemic, we aimed to investigate the anxiety levels of the primary level healthcare professionals, especially the contact tracer teams, and to determine the relevant sociopsychological factors (coworker and organizational support perception levels). Methods: The surveys applied to healthcare-professionals were collected online on a voluntary basis via GoogleForms. Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis tests were used with SPPS20. The effect size was examined with cohen-d. We used linear regression analysis (enter method) to examine the relationships between sociodemographic factors and independent variables. Results: Anxiety was found in 56.1% of 312 participants, insomnia in 44.2%, a low perception of organizational support in 43.6%, and a lack of support from coworkers in 37.5%. Females and those with chronic illnesses had experienced higher levels of anxiety and insomnia, as well as a lower perception of coworker support. Insomnia severity in contact tracers was high, and their support from coworkers was low. There is a positive correlation between anxiety and insomnia; a negative correlation between anxiety with organizational support and coworker support. Conclusion: The lack of perceived organizational and coworker support, presence of chronic illness, being a woman and using medication are the main causes of anxiety and insomnia. Because contact tracing is preformed independent of time, an increase in the frequency of contacts may cause anxiety and insomnia. High anxiety in females may be a result of a perception of low support from coworkers. Training and supports given to healthcare professionals should be planned by considering these risk factors. Plans should be made to increase the effectiveness of training and support given to primary healthcare workers, and to operate speaking and reward mechanisms to increase motivation. To support this planning, the share in the overall budget and the organizational strength of primary health care providers should be increased. The working conditions of contact tracers should be improved.

Abstract: This study aims to determine the attitudes and practices of nursing students regarding complementary and supportive practices. A cross-sectional research design was used to collect data. The study was conducted with 335 nursing students studying at a university in Turkey between July and August 2021. “Personal Information Form” and “Attitude Towards Using Complementary Treatments Scale” were used to collect study data. It was determined that 89.3% of the participants stated that they wanted complementary and supportive practices to be included in the nursing curriculum. 94.6% of the participants were considering using these practices while giving care in the future. Attitude towards using complementary and supportive practices scores were found to be 24.77±6.19. Attitude mean score of those who have a mother's education level at secondary school, who smoke, and who plan to use complementary and supportive practices for the patient group they will care for in the future were found to be higher (p 〈 0.05). The attitude of the participants regarding using complementary and supportive practices is positive, and the mean score is at a moderate level. It is of great importance to increase the knowledge and awareness of students about such practices by including complementary and supportive practices in the nursing undergraduate curriculum.

Abstract: Objective: To determine the effect of education and monitoring on developing foot care in elderly with diabetes. Methods: This was a controlled experimental a research. The study was performed with diabetes composed of 45 in control group and 45 in intervention group who met inclusion criteria for the study within registered elderly with diabetes in one center of elderly and a public hospital between the dates of September 2012-September 2013. Training and follow-up on foot care was carried out for the intervention group by performing four foot examinations in both groups.
