Abstract: A 25 years old nulliparous regularly menstruating woman presented inShSMC Hospital with the complaints of swelling in the right side of vulva and Dysparunia for 4 months. The swelling was initially small and painless but later on it became painful. The swelling recurred after surgical treatment. Examination revealed a swelling in the right Labium majus which was about 4x3 cm, bulging into right side of vagina. It was diagnosed as a case of recurrent bartholin cyst but during surgical procedure it was apparent that the swelling was not bartholin cyst but some other fleshy structure. The removed mass was 7x4 cm. Histopathology revealed benign lesion containing hypocellular structure with large blood vessels and no malignancy. It was diagnosed as Aggressive angoimyxoma. Aggressive Angoimyxoma is a very rare mesenchymal tumor, uptil now only 200 case have been reported in the world. It is a slow growing benign tumor which is typically located in the pelvis and perineum. It often presents with asymptomatic perineal or vulval mass and may be confused with Bartholins cyst, lipoma or hernia. Local recurrence is upto 70%; metastasis is very rare. Treatment is surgical resection Histology reveals a mass of mixed mesenchymal origin with low mitotic activity. It is a hypocellular and highly vascular tumor with myxoid stroma.Bangladesh J Obstet Gynaecol, 2014; Vol. 29(1) : 46-48

Abstract: Background: Bangladesh is a densely populated country of South East Asia with low resource setting where cervical cancer is the 2nd leading cause of female cancer. In more than 80% cases are diagnosed at advanced and inoperable stage. Regarding socio demographic context of this country VIA has been introduced as a screening method for cervical cancer which is most simple, cost effective, and acceptable test for all women. In Bangladesh among 3 million garment workers more than 80% are women. The objective of this study was to identify prevalence of VIA positive cases among garment workers. So that it can reduce the incidence of cervical cancer in Bangladesh. Methods: It was a cross–sectional observational study conducted in some selected garment factories in Chattogram city of Bangladesh from January 2021 to July 2021, where we enrolled 534 female workers for VIA test. Results: Among all the respondents 56% were 30 years or younger, 38% were aged between 31 to 40 years. Among 534 participants, 44.9% completed primary education, 37.3% were smoker and 34.5% had their children at early age. Majority (86.7%) had excessive whitish discharge. Post coital bleeding and irregular bleeding was 2.6% and 2.2% respectively. Considering awareness, 61.8% had idea about cervical cancer, only 1.1% had undergone VIA test in the past. In our study we found 2.4% of participants were VIA positive cases. Conclusions: It is important to include the garment workers, while making public health policies and implementation of cervical cancer control program.

Abstract: Background: Nutritional rickets has emerged as a public health problem in Bangladesh during the past two decades, with up to 8% of children being clinically affected in some areas. Insufficiency of vitamin D and dietary calcium is thought to be the underlying cause. Vitamin D administered with or without calcium is commonly regarded as the mainstay of treatment. Calcium alone or in combination with vitamin D has also been used in the treatment of nutritional rickets. So this study was done to assess the effects of vitamin D, calcium or combination of vitamin D and calcium for the treatment of nutritional rickets in Bangladeshi children. Methods: This open labeled randomized comparative study was done in the Department of Paediatrics, Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital from July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2012 A total 48 rickets patient was enrolled in this study. After selection of cases patients were divided in to three groups by lottery method. Group A received single i/m dose of vitamin D 4,00,000 IU (2,00,000 IU in each buttock), Group B received calcium (750 mg per day) for 6 weeks and Group C received both calcium (750 mg per day) for 6 weeks and single i/m dose of vitamin D 4,00,000 IU (2,00,000 IU in each buttock). Response was evaluated by serum alkaline phosphatase level and using 10-point radiographic score developed by Thacher and colleagues at baseline, 6 weeks, and 12 weeks. Results: Mean age of the study participants was 35.83 months. Male to female ratio was 2:1. The radiographic score was significantly improved in first and second follow up (p 〈 0.001) in all groups. But there was significant difference of improvement in Group C than Group A and Group B. In Group C, the percent reduction from base to first follow up was 80.05±7.04 and 90.65±3 in second follow up which showed quick improvement in combination therapy. Serum alkaline phosphatase also significantly reduced in all three groups. Conclusion: Combination use of vitamin D and calcium in the treatment of nutritional rickets is more effective than prescribing either vitamin D or calcium alone. Birdem Med J 2021; 11(1): 39-46

Abstract: BRAC (Bangladesh Rural Advancement Committee), the largest NGO globally, implemented a community-based comprehensive social behavior communication intervention to increase community resilience through prevention, protection, and care for COVID-19. We conducted implementation research to assess fidelity and explore the barriers and facilitators of this intervention implementation. Methods We adopted a concurrent mixed-method triangulation design. We interviewed 666 members of 60 Community Corona Protection Committees (CCPCs) and 80 members of 60 Community Support Teams (CSTs) through multi-stage cluster sampling using a structured questionnaire. The qualitative components relied on 54 key informant interviews with BRAC implementers and government providers. Results The knowledge about wearing mask, keeping social distance, washing hands and COVID-19 symptoms were high (on average more than 70%) among CCPC and CST members. While 422 (63.4%) CCPC members reported they ‘always’ wear a mask while going out, 69 (86.3%) CST members reported the same practice. Only 247 (37.1%) CCPC members distributed masks, and 229 (34.4%) donated soap to the underprivileged population during the last two weeks preceding the survey. The key facilitators included influential community members in the CCPC, greater acceptability of the front-line health workers, free-of-cost materials, and telemedicine services. The important barriers identified were insufficient training, irregular participation of the CCPC members, favouritism of CCPC members in distributing essential COVID-19 preventive materials, disruption in supply and shortage of the COVID-19 preventative materials, improper use of handwashing station, the non-compliant attitude of the community people, challenges to ensure home quarantine, challenges regarding telemedicine with network interruptions, lack of coordination among stakeholders, the short duration of the project. Conclusions Engaging the community in combination with health services through a Government-NGO partnership is a sustainable strategy for implementing the COVID-19 prevention program. Engaging the community should be promoted as an integral component of any public health intervention for sustainability. Engagement structures should incorporate a systems perspective to facilitate the relationships, ensure the quality of the delivery program, and be mindful of the heterogeneity of different community members concerning capacity building. Finally, reaching out to the underprivileged through community engagement is also an effective mechanism to progress through universal health coverage.

Abstract: The discovery of coronavirus is a state-of-the-art scientific study, so there is no doubt in the whole world that it is an innovation. But cybercriminals are working to create suspicion so that people are confused and afraid of the coronavirus. Cybercriminals are committing crimes from the global cloud network. They are carrying out extrajudicial killings around the world by abusing wireless sensor technology based on the victim & rsquo;s active open eye, voice, adjacent sensor device and a specific GPS location, while spreading lies about the coronavirus pandemic in the media. New variants of the coronavirus are being created by cybercriminals and over time cyber killer groups are spreading to target-based regions of the universe, putting the world in a serious crisis threatening everyone & rsquo;s survival. Surveys show that the death toll is rising and no one can say when the coronavirus will end and everyone will regain their right to life. The study indicates that lawmakers, health workers and technologists are blindfolded and foolishly looking for vaccines as a way to escape the coronavirus in the open air while others are dying helplessly. For coronavirus pandemic management and disease-free living for all, their sensor technological knowledge is essential, but such knowledge is insufficient. This is because cybercriminals have hypnotized each of their brains to their specific GPS location, depriving them of the right to decide for exposure in the media. The results of a unique study - coronavirus survival and its origin - published research is very difficult to reach relevant legislators and stakeholders. Research published on the publisher & rsquo;s website has been bounced by cybercriminals for political malpractice and lack of proper sensor security. The study illustrates the interrelationship among the political agenda, mysterious lockdowns and digital assassination through global wireless clouding. Today or the day after tomorrow, the importance of this research should be made known to all, otherwise no one will be saved from the digital death of cyber criminals. Lying about coronavirus is nothing more than propaganda of GPS sensor abusers. To avoid this propaganda, everyone in the world must be aware and the legal system of each country must be properly implemented to suppress cyber criminals. This advanced study is an absolute witness to the building of a peaceful world for all generations, which encourages all to be vigilant and create a conscious circle to deal with this pandemic while maintaining equality and neutrality.

Abstract: Introduction : Takayasu arteritis is a vasculitis of unknown cause. It is a disease of involvement of vessels of branches of the aortic arch. It can affect women of reproductive age and may present with pregnancy. Pregnancy may have a favorable outcome if diagnosed and appropriately managed from the onset of the disease and enter pregnancy in the remission phase and with medication. But, if it is diagnosed for the first time during pregnancy outcome might be worse. Case reports: Here presented two case reports of diagnosed Takahashi Arteritis with term pregnancy; who entered pregnancy in remission phase and on medication. The prior preparation leads the pregnancy to a successful outcome without any residual effect on feto-maternal health. Conclusion: Early diagnosis of the disease and proper management of the progress of the disease by intervention is essential for a good prognosis. A close follow-up and multidisciplinary approach during pregnancy make pregnancy a safer journey for a woman with Takahashi Arteritis. Bangladesh J Obstet Gynaecol, 2022; Vol. 37(1): 63-67
