Abstract: Perceptions are the attitudes of people which are considered as critical components of socio-cultural context. Decentralization promotes equity, people’s participation and effective service delivery at the local level through transfer of responsibilities and competencies, capacities and resource allocation power to a lower level of government. This also implies in the agricultural sector. In this context, a research was designed to study the attitudes of extension workers and farmers on decentralized agriculture service system in 3 Municipalites and 3 Village Development Committees (VDCs) of Lamjung district. Using by stratified proportionate sampling method, we selected 60 respondents, out of which 41.67 percent were the farmers and 58.33% were the extension workers. Five point Likert scales were developed to measure perception regarding four major components of decentralization. Qualitative as well as quantitative data were analyzed. Focus Group Discussion was also conducted to identify the problems. The result showed that, regarding the planning component, fiscal component and implementation component majority of respondent perceive positive response, while the perception of structural component was found varied response. Further findings indicated that there was lack of clear ideas on well-functioning of process among extension workers and farmers. Moreover, result showed that implementation related was the 1st ranked problem followed by financial related and structural related. Structural change to address increasing farmers' demand was one of the key interventions suggested by the respondents for the effectiveness of decentralized agriculture service provisionInt. J. Soc. Abstract: An experiment was conducted to identify suitable production management techniques for tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) cultivation during late winter-pre monsoon season in plains of Nepal. For this, organic mulches (rice straw, dried grass, and rice husk) were compared with SN (shade net) and no-mulch (bare field) condition for tomato yield in 2018 and 2019. The pooled analysis of all observed morphological and yield traits were performed and they differed significantly. Rice husk significantly affected number of fruits per inflorescence though number of inflorescence per plant and flowers per inflorescence were similar among organic mulches. The highest fruit yield per plant (4.44 kg plant-1) was obtained with rice husk, the other mulches and SN were at par but the lowest yield (2.75 kg plant-1) was obtained with no-mulch. Similarly, rice husk mulch contributed to the highest number of fruits per inflorescence (5.22), highest fruit weight (46.58 g) and diameter (4.99 cm).Fruit yield positively and significantly associated with fruit per inflorescence(0.78***), fruit diameter (0.65***) and an average fruit weight (0.56***).Organic mulches significantly (p=0.05) contributed to higher yield (86.01 t ha-1) over SN (76.55 t ha-1).Higher values for total soluble solid, Vitamin C and fruit firmness were observed under rice husk mulching. The result of the present study found rice husk mulching as better option for tomato production as compared to SN and no-mulch condition.

Abstract: For ethnic inhabitants in the rural areas, medicinal plants are not only the cultural, sacred medicinal ingredients of traditional medicine, part of traditional belief and biodiversity but also an important cash crop to support their livelihood. With the commercialization of traditional medicine and medicinal plant-based industries worldwide, Nepalese medicinal plants are in high demand. This photo essay presents the various steps from the cultivation to the cross-border trade of Swertia chirayita (Roxb.) H. Karst., a traditional valuable medicinal plant, and a beautiful landscape of Nepal-China border. The essay contains fourteen photographs each described with captions in detail with the information collected during field work. The ethnographic study on cross border trade of medicinal plants was conducted in 2020 at Bhotkhola routes in the northeastern Nepal. Bhotkhola-Tibet border control in 2008 has politically ruptured the original link of traditional exchange among people, goods, and ideas by displacing the community from its everyday borderlands. However, the cross border trade is performed by traditional networks of Bhotiya communities such as rural ethnic inhabitants, farmers, small budget dealers, and traditional practitioners through formal and informal supply chains. The government authorities from both the countries are responsible for regulating, monitoring, and permitting medicinal plants supply from harvesters to cross-border traders.

Abstract: Zoonoses are the common cause of disease occurrence in animals and humans in Bhairahawa. Many zoonotic disease such as Tuberculosis, Rabies, Heartworm, Brucella, Leptospira has been encountered in Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science (IAAS), Tribhuvan University from Bhairahawa periphery. We conducted a cross-sectional purposive random survey of total 303 villagers of Siddharthanagar Municipality, Bhairahawa, Rupandehi to study awareness status about zoonosis. Out of total individuals interviewed, 176 (58%) heard about the zoonotic disease and radio/television (37.5%) were the source of information. 66.7% female and 56.9% male knew about zoonosis. 72.9% of youths (30-50 years), 36.6% farmers, 33.33% Dalit and 40.2% Madheshi, 58.6% Hindu, 66.7% Buddhist, 66.7% of Christian knew about zoonosis. 86% of aware people knew about direct transmission rout of zoonotic disease, and 100%, 77.84%, 100%, 100% and 47.72% respondents knew about the contaminated food, milk, meat, bite, and secretion transmission route respectively. Age, education, ethnicity, occupation play highly significant (P 〈 0.05) effect on zoonosis, where religion had significant (P 〈 0.05) effect but sex had no significant relationship. Hence our study suggests that zoonotic disease pose a threat to people but the risk grossly underestimated.

Abstract: To study the effectivness of Covalescent Plasma therapy (CPT) for combating COVID-19 diseases we have carried out a rapid of case series studies. Various academic publication related to convalescent plasma therapy for covid 19 are studied, number of participants their result after convalscent plasma therapy and amount of antibodies level has been studied. How transfusion of convalescent plasma therapy helps to cure Covid 19 patients studies is various series as A,B,C,D ,E and F. Most of the studies show convalsecnt plasma therapy could be one of the approach to treat COVID-19 patients, until the vaccine and other better interventation come into action.
