Abstract: The province of Uşak is located in the inner part of the Aegean region, with an area of 5556 km², it ranks 61st among the provinces in Turkey. The agricultural area of 2194 km², which corresponds to 39% of the province's surface area, is above the Turkey average. The continental climate, soil structure and insufficient irrigable agricultural lands in Uşak city has limited the diversity of agricultural products. The share of plant production throughout the province is higher than the average of Turkey compared to animal production. In this study, in the period of 2004-2020 the current situation of the agricultural structure of Uşak province, its development and general structure were compared to carried out with the data of Turkey. In the examined period, fruit cultivation areas increased with the increase in irrigation areas and incentives provided, but grain cultivation areas decreased. In animal production, the suitability of climatic conditions has brought the of poultry sector to the fore. In this research, it is aimed to reveal the agricultural production characteristics and inventory of Uşak province.

Abstract: This study was carried out to determine the effects of different levels of organic acid-based sodium formate (SF) addition on nutrient contents, fermentation quality, dry matter intake, digestible dry matter, and relative feed value of no-cob sweet corn silages. In the experiment, groups were formed by adding 0 % SF (control group), 1 % SF and 2 % SF to no-cob corn, and the fermentation period continued for 60 days. At the end of the study, it was determined that SF supplement decreased the dry matter, crude protein, crude oil, ADF, NDF, starch, ME, acetic acid, propionic acid, butyric acid, and ethanol contents of corn silages, whereas it increased lactic acid, crude ash, and starch levels. In addition, it was found that the pH values of the experiment silages were statistically decreased with the addition of 1 % SF; dry matter intake, digestible dry matter, and relative feed values were found to increase. At the end of the study, it was concluded that 1 % SF addition could be used because of its positive effect on the fermentation properties and dry matter intake, digestible dry matter, and relative feed values as well as pH lowering and lactic acid-increasing effect of no-cob corn silages.

Abstract: Yem mikroskopisi, karma yemlerde katılması ve katılmaması gereken yem hammaddelerinin stereo mikroskop altında incelenmesidir.

Abstract: In this study, corn silage with different ratios of by adding olive pomace olive industry by-product under laboratory conditions was aimed to determine the effects on nutrient contents, fermentation characteristics and in vitro digestibility. Olive pomace used in the research, was added in 0% (control), 20 and 40 levels in corn silage and ensiling period continued during 56 days. At the end of the ensiling period, differences seen in terms of dry matter content, organic matter, crude fat, acit detergent fiber, acid detergent lignin, in each level consisting of corn silage is added to olive pomace were found significant but the crude protein content of the olive pomace-added silages decreased. The highest crude fiber value was determined in the silages added with 40% olive pomace. Crude ash, lactic acid, acetic acid, pH and CO2 differences seen in terms of rates were not found significant. Propoionic acid wasn’t found in the groups to which olive pomace was added, while butyric acid and ammonia nitrogen weren’t observed in all silage groups in the study. At the same time, in vitro organic matter, dry matter and neutral detergent fiber digestibility of silages increased in each level consisting of corn silage is added to olive pomace. As a result, it was considered result that olive pomace the oil industry by product can be a silo feed quality. In particular, the corns by adding 40% of the olive pomace made silage were obtained satisfactory results in terms of both physical and chemical properties.

Abstract: Bu çalışma, Uşak ili kentsel alanda 400 tüketici ile yapılan anketlerden elde edilen verilerden oluşmaktadır.

Abstract: This study was carried out between 2014-2016 for two years in order to determine the nutrient contents of some evergreen shrub species such as Spanish broom, laurel-leaf cistus, cade juniper, woolly blackberry and kermes oak, collected from the natural vegetation of Usak province. In the research, statistically significant differences were determined in terms of dry matter ratio, crude protein ratio, neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent fiber (ADF) and ash contents among the seasons. In the study, the dry matter ratios of the shrub species ranged from 41.97 to 58.09%. The highest crude protein content was determined in woolly blackberry (12.90%) and the lowest was determined in cade juniper (5.56%). The progress of the season led to a decrease in crude protein ratios. NDF rates of shrub species changed from 25.70 to 48.76 percent, while ADF ratios ranged from 19.34 to 30.98 percent. While the lowest NDF and ADF ratios were observed in the laurel-leaf cistus, the progression of the season caused an increase in the rates of NDF and ADF in contrast to the crude protein. Crude ash rates were changed between 5.11% and 7.13% and the highest crude ash was determined in laurel-leaf cistus. According to the results obtained from the study, it is concluded that shrub species are the source of quality roughage for sheep and goats in all periods of the year, especially when the pastures are dormant.
