Abstract:
OBJETIVO: Estimar la prevalencia de embarazos no planificados y verificar la asociación con factores sociodemográficos de mujeres registradas en la ESF - Estrategia Salud de la Familia, en el suburbio sanitario de Salvador - BA. MÉTODOS: Estudio de naturaleza cuantitativa, exploratoria, transversal, realizado con una muestra de 191 mujeres embarazadas, estratificada por unidades de salud. El embarazo fue categorizado como planificado y no planificado, y las características sociodemográficas constituyeron variables independientes. La magnitud de las asociaciones fue obtenida por la razón de prevalencia y respectivos intervalos de confianza (95%), estimada por la regresión de Poisson, siendo el nivel de significancia estadística, 5% (p 〈 0,05). RESULTADOS: La prevalencia de embarazo no planificado fue de 66,5%; edad, situación conyugal, situación ocupacional e ingresos presentaron diferencias proporcionales estadísticamente significativas con relación al tipo de embarazo. Se verificó asociación positiva entre edad, situación conyugal y ocupación con embarazo no planificado. CONCLUSIONES: se reafirma la asociación entre embarazo no planificado y condiciones socioeconómicas, y la ESF parece no haber sido efectivo en la garantía de los derechos reproductivos de las mujeres.
