    Kurzfassung: The total 3,630 foliose corals belonging to Pachyseris speciosa, Merulina scabriculata, Montipora verucosa and Echinopora lamellosa species were translated to restoration in Ly Son MPA. Translated hard corals to restoration were successfully and effectively rehabilitated by using techniques to attach fragment on dead coral substratum and concrete sink (reef balls). Mean survival rate of coral fragments ranged from 96.9% (± 2.7 SD) to 98.5% (± 1.3 SD) on the concrete sink and dead coral substratum, respectively. The growth rate of three species Echinopora lamellosa, Merulina scabriculata and Montipora verucosa ranged between 1.5–2.1 mm/month and did not differ between concrete sink, dead coral substratum and control (P 〉 0.05). Meanwhile Pachyseris speciosa showed a low growth rate of 0.9–1.5 mm/month which was significantly different between translated fragments and control (P 〈 0.05). The rehabilitation and protection activities of coral reefs in Ly Son should be continued and expanded, contributing to the protection of biodivesity and marine resource for sustainable economic development.

    Kurzfassung: A study on the species composition and distribution of Mollusca and Echinodermata on coral reefs from Quang Tri to Binh Thuan was conducted during the field survey between Vietnam and Russia on the AKADEMIK OPARIN RC vessel in 2016 and 2017 at 39 reef stations. 150 species were identified belonging to 100 genera, 50 families, 22 orders, 7 classes distributed on coral reefs. The species composition of mollusca and echinodermata was different between study areas.

    Kurzfassung: This study was designed to evaluate the effects of astaxanthin in broodfish diets on reproductive performance, egg quality and larvae quality parameters of clownfish (Amphirion ocellaris). Five treatments were tested with 5 levels of astaxanthin (Carophyll Pink 10% CWS) of 0, 50, 100, 150 and 200 mg/kg added to the feed. Each treatment was repeated in triplicate and the supplemental feeding trials were arranged for 13 months. The results showed that there were significant differences in hatching rate of egg, malformed rate and survival rate of larvae in 3 days post-hatch (p 〈 0.05) among the feeding trials of astaxanthin supplements. The highest hatching rate of egg and survival rate and the lowest malformed rate of larvae were observed in the treatment that was supplemented with astaxanthin 150 mg/kg feed, respectively 92.14 %; 93.57 % and 0.55 %. However, the astaxanthin supplementary diets did not affect the re-maturation and spawning period, spawning frequency, fecundity, egg diameter and larval size of nemo fish among the treatments. The results also suggested that astaxanthin requirement for clownfish broodstock to improve reproductive performance was 150 mg/kg feed.

    Kurzfassung: The surveys of macrozoobenthos fauna of Ly Son tidal area were carried out at 8 stations in September 2016. The 4 replicate samples were collected in high, middle and low tidal zones at each station. The results record 92 taxa of mollusc (accounting for 35% of total number of taxa), 76 taxa of crustacean (29%), 71 taxa of polychaete (27%) and 22 taxa of echinoderm (9%). Among them, there are 7 species of valuable resources that were exploited for food such as sea cucumber (Holothuria (Semperothuria) cinerascens), collector urchin (Tripneustes gratilla), diadema urchin (Echinothrix diadema), Diadema savignyi (belonging to Echinoderma), strawberry conch (Strombus luhuanus), goldmouth turban (Turbo chrysostomus) and bearded horse mussel (Modiolus barbatus). Some species with beautiful shapes and colors are used for handycraft such as black-lip pearl oyster (Pinctada margaritifera), small giant clam (Tridacna maxima), Chinese cowrie (Cypraea chinensis)... The densities of mactozoobenthos vary from 38 to 1,632 individuals/m2 between stations and tend to increase from high to low tide zones; from sandy bottom and shore rock to dead coral habitats covered by seaweed and seagrass bed.

    Kurzfassung: Acclimation culture and trial culture of two sea snake species Hydrophis curtus and H. cyanocinctus in composite tanks were conducted to determine growth, survival rate, predation behavior and prey selection. The results showed that adults of H. curtus and H. cyanocinctus did not capture any prey such as anchovy, eel and shrimp in a period of 30 days of acclimation culture. The body weight of two these species reduced gradually from 783.3 ± 76.4 g and 360.0 ± 60.0 g to 660.0 ± 135.2 g and 315.0 ± 77.8 g, respectively. Survival rate was 100% in H. curtus and 80% in H. cyanocinctus. Meanwhile, the results of acclimation culture of sea snake juvenile revealed that frozen anchovy was preferred prey in both of two species. The body weight of H. curtus increased from 49.8 ± 0.5 g to 70.0 ± 8.2 g and that of H. cyanocinctus was 44.3 ± 3.1 g to 47.1 ± 5.2 g. The prey capture rate of H. curtus and H. cyanocinctus was 100% and 60%, respectively. Survival rate of the juvenile of two species was 100% after 30 days of acclimation culture. In 60 days of trial culture, similar results as acclimation culture were observed in adults of two sea snake species, they still did not capture any prey and the body weight reduced gradually. The result of 60-day culture of sea snake juvenile showed that the prey capture rate was 100% in both of two species. The body weight of H. curtus and H. cyanocinctus increased from 70.0 ± 8.2 g and 57.5 ± 5.8 g to 78.3 ± 15.3 g and 65.0 ± 14.1, respectively. SGR of H. curtus was 0.16 ± 0.32 %/day and that of H. cyanocinctus was 0.52 ± 0.36%/day. The survival rate of H. curtus and H. cyanocinctus was 60% and 40% in period of 60 day trial.

    Kurzfassung: A study on Mollusks’ species composition and distribution on dead coral from Quang Ngai to Cat Ba was conducted during the field survey between Vietnam and Russia on the AKADEMIC OPARIN RC vessel in 2021 at 39 reef stations in 14 study areas. By comparative morphology method, the authors have identified 135 taxa of Mollusca belonging to 48 families, 4 classes on coral reefs. The species composition of Mollusca was slightly different between study areas.

    Kurzfassung: Lobster cage culture started around 1990 in Xuan Dai bay and grew fast in recent years, contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of the region. But the impact on the ecological environment of cage culture operation also needs to consider. This paper points out the status of the macrobenthic community, studied at two stations inside the cage culture area (X1, X2) and one reference station (Xr) in the non-cage culture area. A total of 90 samples with 5 replicate samples per station were collected in six surveys during the dry and rainy seasons from June 2019 to May 2020. These samples were classified and recorded into 80 taxa belonging to 49 families and 5 classes. The class Polychaetes had the most diverse species composition with 53 taxa (66% of the total number of taxa). The crustacean group had 14 taxa (18%) belonging to 13 families; Molluscs had 9 taxa (11%) belonging to 6 families of class Bivalvia. The echinoderms had 4 taxa (5%). Capitella capitata, a species known as an indicator of organic pollution, was recorded in both stations of the culture area but was not present at the reference station. Furthermore, some dominant species presented in the culture stations such as Cossura longocirrata (contributed 43.52% in station X1) and Ceratonereis sp. (contributed 27.57% in station X2). These species are considered opportunistic species that can adapt to disturbed environmental conditions. Significantly, the species of echinoderms group were only recorded in the reference station. The species composition was only about 24% similar to those at the cage culture stations. The species richness index (D) values ranged from 1.50 (X2.6) to 6.82 (Xr.3). The diversity index (H′) varied from 0.88 (X2.4) to 2.98 (Xr.3). The evenness index (J) had the lowest average value at station X2 (J = 0.59 ± 0.20) and the highest value at the reference station Xr (J = 0.78 ± 0.03). The indices D, H′ and J of the macrobenthic community at the reference stations have higher average values compared to those estimated at cage culture stations. These results proved cage culture activities have gradually impacted the benthic fauna, reduced biodiversity, and encouraged the appearance of opportunistic species. Thus, further studies on the macrobenthic community dynamic with ecological criteria are necessary to establish a set of biological indicators to monitor the environmental quality of the coastal aquaculture area.

    Kurzfassung: Đặc trưng nguồn lợi sinh vật đáy các vùng nước đầm miền Trung được xác định thông qua 10 chuyến điều tra khảo sát từ năm 2008 - 2013. Kết quả nghiên cứu đã xác định được 18 loài sinh vật đáy có giá trị kinh tế chủ yếu, trong đó gồm: 8 loài hai mảnh vỏ (Bivalvia), 2 loài chân bụng (Gastropoda) và 8 loài giáp xác (Crustacea). Nhóm hai mảnh vỏ chiếm ưu thế về sản lượng ở Đề Gi và Thị Nại nhưng ở Nha Phu và Thủy Triều thì nhóm giáp xác lại chiếm ưu thế. Sản lượng sinh vật đáy của 4 đầm trên tập trung chủ yếu vào 5 loài gồm: Gari elongata (Đề Gi), Glauconome chinensis và Potamocorbula cf. laevis (Thị Nại), Portunus pelagicus (Nha Phu và Thủy Triều). Đa số nguồn lợi sinh vật đáy thuộc nhóm sống vùi, sinh sống ở vùng triều và tập trung chủ yếu ở đáy cát. Kết quả nghiên cứu này cung cấp cơ sở khoa học cho việc nghiên cứu sâu hơn về chuỗi, lưới thức ăn và cung cấp dữ liệu cho quy hoạch, phân vùng và khai thác nguồn lợi thủy sản hợp lý.
