Kurzfassung:
In this report we provide biochemical and molecular evidence for a piperic acid CoA ligase from black pepper fruits, capable to produce piperoyl‐CoA from piperic acid, which both are considered precursors in the biosynthesis of piperine and related piperamides, the pungent principle of the Piperaceae.
