Summary In the blood serum of 5 Duchenne types and 5 limb-girtle muscular dystrophies of the progressive muscular dystrophy (Erb) the activities of the myokinase (MK) and the creatine kinase (CK) are considerably higher than in those of healthy children. In the serum of the Duchenne type the MK-activities are more than twice as high as in the limb-girtle muscular dystrophy. In comparison with the CK-activity in the serum the MK-activity is ten times less raised and decreases sooner than the CK-activity in advanced forms of this disease. In the begin of the Duchenne type muscular dystrophy the muscular activities of MK and CK are significantly smaller than those of healthy skeleton muscle demonstrating the same 1:2 ratio of both activities in the blood serum as well as in muscular cells.

Zusammenfassung In je fünf Blutseren der malignen Beckengürtelform (Duchenne) und der Gliedmaßengürtelform der progressiven Muskeldystrophie (Erb) werden im Vergleich zur jeweiligen gesunden Norm erhöhte Myokinase-(MK-) und Creatinkinase-(CK-)Aktivitäten gemessen. Die Aktivität der MK ist beim erstgenannten Typ mehr als doppelt so hoch wie beim zweiten oben angeführten Typ. Gegenüber der CK-Aktivität ist die MK-Aktivität im Serum etwa zehnmal weniger erhöht und fällt mit zunehmender Krankheitsdauer früher ab als die CK-Aktivität. Im Frühstadium eines Duchenne-Typs sind MK- und CK-Aktivitäten signifikant niedriger gegenüber solchen von gesunden Skeletmuskeln, jedoch wird das 1:2-Verhältnis beider Aktivitäten im Muskel wie im Serum beibehalten.
