Abstract:
Satellite‐derived sea surface salinity (SSS) in the Arctic region from four products, three from Aquarius and one from SMOS are compared Satellite data are in good agreement with in situ salinity measurements, captures spatial and temporal variability proving usefulness in monitoring Arctic SSS Products have slight discrepancies in the spatial distribution due to differences in noise reduction technique and the masking of sea ice
