Kurzfassung: In this paper, an M/G/1 retrial queue with general retrial times and single working vacation is considered. We assume that the customers who find the server busy are queued in the orbit in accordance with a first-come-first-served (FCFS) discipline and only the customer at the head of the queue is allowed access to the server. During the normal period, if the orbit queue is not empty at a service completion instant, the server begins a working vacation with specified probability q (0 ≤  q  ≤ 1), and with probability 1 −  q , he waits for serving the next customer. During the working vacation period, customers can be served at a lower service rate. We first present the necessary and sufficient condition for the system to be stable. Using the supplementary variable method, we deal with the generating functions of the server state and the number of customers in the orbit. Various interesting performance measures are also derived. Finally, some numerical examples and cost optimization analysis are presented.

Kurzfassung: We consider a firm's sourcing problem from one reliable supplier and one unreliable supplier in two price‐setting scenarios. In the committed pricing scenario, the firm makes the pricing decision before the supply uncertainty is resolved. In the responsive pricing scenario, the firm's pricing decision is made after the supply uncertainty is resolved. For the committed pricing scenario, we develop a condition on supply uncertainty that guarantees the unimodality of the firm's objective function. By comparing the firm's optimal diversification decisions in the two pricing scenarios, we examine the interplay of supply diversification strategy and responsive pricing strategy in mitigating supply uncertainty. While both strategies are effective in mitigating supply uncertainty, we show that they are not necessarily substitutes. The relationship between these two strategies depends on two adverse effects caused by supply uncertainty: the lost‐revenue effect and the lost‐goodwill effect. More specifically, when the lost‐revenue effect dominates the lost‐goodwill effect, these two strategies are complements; otherwise, they are substitutes. Furthermore, we examine the impact of market size, price sensitivity, supplier reliability, and failure rebate on the interplay between these two strategies, and discuss the implications of our results. Finally, we extend our analysis to the case of two unreliable suppliers and show that the insights regarding the interplay between diversification and pricing continue to hold.

Kurzfassung: Multivariate zero‐inflated Poisson (ZIP) distributions are important tools for modelling and analysing correlated count data with extra zeros. Unfortunately, existing multivariate ZIP distributions consider only the overall zero‐inflation while the component zero‐inflation is not well addressed. This paper proposes a flexible multivariate ZIP distribution, called the multivariate component ZIP distribution, in which both the overall and component zero‐inflations are taken into account. Likelihood‐based inference procedures including the calculation of maximum likelihood estimates of parameters in the model without and with covariates are provided. Simulation studies indicate that the performance of the proposed methods on the multivariate component ZIP model is satisfactory. The Australia health care utilisation data set is analysed to demonstrate that the new distribution is more appropriate than the existing multivariate ZIP distributions.

Kurzfassung: Octane number is a measure of gasoline’s ability to resist detonation and combustion in the cylinder; the higher the value, the better the resistance to detonation. The accurate prediction of octane loss during gasoline refining could facilitate production management and ensure gasoline octane. The backpropagation neural network is a traditional method adopted for the octane loss prediction, but there exists the issues of low training accuracy and poor generalization in the traditional BP neural network model caused by randomly generated weights and thresholds at input. In this paper, we propose a novel approach to optimize the weights and thresholds for gasoline octane number prediction based on a self-adaptive genetic algorithm. The experimental result shows that the proposed model outperforms in accuracy and generalization in the competition with the traditional BP neural network. The coefficient of determination R 2 of the performance index in the experiment is improved from 0.81502 to 0.95628, and the average prediction error among 10 groups of experiments was reduced from 0.0061 to 0.0041.

Kurzfassung: As the digital economy promotes economic growth, the Internet of Things can solve the problem of productivity, and the blockchain can solve the problem of production relations, which realizes the industrial transformation of blockchain smart contract technology and becomes a new driving force for the industry. It is becoming more and more difficult for companies to control their own raw material supply, production, and sales by relying only on their own strength, and this is the key to influencing a company to become bigger and stronger. This problem will be efficiently solved by the implementation of “Internet of Things + Blockchain” technology. As a result, research into a new sort of smart supply chain management based on “Internet of Things + Blockchain” is required. From the perspective of building a smart supply chain, this paper makes full use of literature data methods, theoretical analysis methods, case analysis methods, logic analysis methods, and other methods. To study the effectiveness of IoT and blockchain technology through case study of changes in the order quantity in the procurement link of the supply chain. By understanding the current status of related research at home and abroad, as well as the Internet of Things technology and blockchain technology, this paper analyzes China. The main problems existing in the supply chain management of enterprises are the combination of the Internet of Things technology and the blockchain with the enterprise supply chain to create a smart supply chain platform, and the feasibility and functional efficiency of the smart supply chain platform. The related check was found, its deficiencies were found, and remedial measures were taken. The research results show that this intelligent supply chain management platform based on the Internet of Things (IoT) and blockchain can make the operation of the entire supply chain clearly visible. Information and data sharing can be achieved among the various departments of the supply chain to achieve scientific management and precision of the enterprise prediction. And this model can also be used in other industries to achieve industrial upgrading.

Kurzfassung: Electric buses have a significant penetration rate and high charging frequency and amount. Therefore, their charging load has a momentous influence on the power grid’s operation and dispatch. There are important theoretical and practical reasons to study electric bus charging load prediction; however, the intermittent and random charging behavior of buses makes it more difficult to predict charging load predictions, particularly, in real time. To accomplish this, in this paper a WNN (wavelet neural network)-based dynamic load prediction model for charging electric buses is suggested. We start by using distance and shape to group the charging load curve which, in fact, is done with spectral clustering. As a second step, we take into account a wide range of charging load-affecting variables such as temperature and time of day, in order to better train the WNN. Moreover, the charge loads for each cluster are predicted based on model parameters; subsequently, the forecast day’s total charging load is then calculated by summing the prediction results for each cluster; finally, the proposed method is validated using a real city data set. In our empirical evaluation, it has been found that, under various indicators, the proposed method’s ability to precisely forecast the charging load of electric vehicles has significantly improved. In fact, this allows for better guidance of charging user, planning, and expanding the power grid in consideration of electric vehicle charging loads.
