Abstract: Rural consumers may face not only the challenge of affordability but also the problem of limited accessibility. Can a government’s subsidy program effectively address these issues? This paper examines the impact of a large-scale subsidy program, “Household electrical appliances going to the countryside,” offered by the Chinese government. The government regulation imposes a price subsidy combined with a price ceiling on products in the program. We consider two effects of the subsidy: the retail price is lowered to make the product more affordable to consumers, and manufacturers are encouraged to expand their distribution coverage to make products more accessible to consumers. We build a dynamic model of oligopoly to study how firms adjust their distribution coverage. Conditional on the model estimates, we evaluate the program’s effects on social welfare, consumer surplus, and firms’ market performance and marketing channel decisions through counterfactual analyses. We find that the subsidy program increases social welfare by CNY 0.209 billion, as a result of a subsidy expense of CNY 0.236 billion. When breaking down the impact, we find it increases consumer surplus by CNY 0.184 billion (50%), manufacturers’ profits by CNY 0.125 billion (53%), and manufacturers’ payoffs by CNY 2.5 million (17%). Specifically, 14% (13.2%) of the consumer surplus (firm profit) increases are from changes in distribution coverage, and the rest is from the subsidy (price changes). The program’s return of investment (i.e., social welfare minus subsidy expense), which is negative, however, could be improved by applying a relatively lower subsidy rate. This paper was accepted by Juanjuan Zhang, marketing.

Abstract: Technology has made life simpler for every human being, irrespective of educational qualifications and sector of work. The education sector in the current modern era is revolutionized by technology. Teaching and understanding theoretical subjects like ideological and pedagogical education (IaPE) has become simple with technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), edge computing (EC), and flipped classrooms. These are unique technologies in the education sector to make classroom learning more manageable by creating concepts in digitization and visualization with audiovisual technologies. In recent research, many authors have proposed models for IaPE through ideological and pedagogical teaching (IaPT) for different courses in vocational colleges and universities. Some researchers have designed a hybrid model with IaPT and analyzed the results as an extension to this teaching method. This research work introduced AI and EC technologies to the flipped classroom to promote higher vocational education in colleges and universities for IaPE. With digitization and visualization in course material preparation, AI aids in an interactive classroom study. On the other hand, EC aids in the easy storage and accessing of the resources prepared through AI. The analysis work is performed on the dataset from the unique client identifier (UCI) repository by proposing a novel optimization algorithm for flipped classrooms.

Abstract: In this article, we will first try to create a general development platform for embedded systems. The goal of this step is to establish an experimental platform that can support various peripheral modules and can be reused. The connection between the modules can be reconfigured to meet the different needs of embedded research and learning. On this basis, the system uses the audio frequency spectrum program as an input function to represent the dispersion pattern of signal energy, which can be tested with characteristic nodes simulated by convolutional neural network software. In addition, the auxiliary neural network software simulation core can continuously learn the detailed characteristics of the audio frequency spectrum, making it easy to recognize environmental sounds. In addition, the sound signal and the neural cycle are related in time. The neural network can study the relationship between different frames in the time domain to compensate for the defects caused by the complex neural network in modeling time series. Finally, this article focuses on the process of building an English translation platform based on the mobile cloud data model. The client is targeted at the Android platform, while the server is based on the laaS system. According to the model of mobile cloud data processing, the calculation of mobile phones in computer-intensive programs is studied. Through the hardware design and distribution of the system, we are able to use mobile cloud technology as a desktop-intensive program to solve the problem of effectiveness in the solution. The article promotes the development of an English translation platform by applying the research results of environmental sound recognition based on embedded system software simulation to the design of the English translation platform.

Abstract: As the basis of machine translation, anaphora aims to let the machine determine the entity or event to which the sentence refers by exploring the anaphora relationship between sentences. Prior to this, the research on anaphora resolution mainly focused on the resolution of entity anaphora. Through unremitting efforts, the elimination of entity-reference relationship has achieved great success, but the equally important event reference has been stagnant. This means that we can promote the development of machine translation by enhancing event reference. In this paper, a new method is proposed, which uses the latest machine learning algorithm to eliminate English event pronouns. Through feature extraction, data preprocessing, and the introduction of end-to-end double-loop neural network and attention mechanism, the network’s ability to acquire contextual features is improved, and finally, the purpose of eliminating English event pronouns is achieved. In the experimental part, this paper also conducts training and testing on the latest data set KBP. It is found that the model algorithm proposed in this paper can perform the task of experimental setup well, and the value of 40.3% F1 is given under CONLL evaluation index. This proves that the model can understand semantic information very effectively and extract relevant information from the given semantic information.
