Abstract:
This study examined the effect of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and body mass index (BMI) on brain structure. Results indicate differences in white matter integrity, such that MCI is related to more damaged white matter tracks. Additional findings suggest that increased brain integrity in regions impacted by MCI is related to lower BMI and relational memory performance. This work suggests that MCI and body mass relate to structural brain integrity and memory.
