Abstract:
Salinity and drying–wetting (D‐W) cycles effect, respectively, soil pore space of vary pore sizes. Shrinkage/swelling potential of high saline soil decreases slowly during D‐W cycles. D‐W cycles causes hysteresis of soil volume due to irreversible deformation highlights. Saline soil deformation is structural degradation and more difficult to achieve stability.
