Abstract:
Edge computing allows data from smart devices to be processed efficiently before being sent to a central location. Digital compute-in memory (CIM) processors have higher accuracy, whereas memristive CIM processors have higher energy efficiency and nonvolatile storage density. An artificial intelligence CIM processor developed by Wen et al . combines the advantages of digital and memristive approaches. The authors’ CIM-fusion scheme, combined with adaptive local training for customization, achieves high speed, energy efficiency, and accuracy. —Phil Szuromi
