    Description: Here, we present a record of more than 8000 km of radar survey lines of radio echo sounding data covering an area of 24 000 km2 centred on the drill site for the East Greenland Ice-core Project (EGRIP) in the central part of the North East Greenland Ice Stream (NEGIS). The acquisition system was a multichannel ultra-wideband radar mounted on AWI's Polar6 aircraft. Our data yield a new detailed model of ice-thickness distribution and basal topography in the region.

    Description: Here, we present a collection of data sets of reconstructed three-dimensional (3D) englacial stratigraphic horizons in the polar ice sheets. The 3D horizons were created on the basis of internal reflection horizons (IRHs), which were made visible by radio-echo sounding (RES) data. We explain how 3D horizons provide an improved data basis for the interpretation of deformed radar stratigraphy, which is needed to better understand the ice-flow history of the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheet. The data cover different survey regions, which represent crucial ice-dynamic settings. We provide the data in different formats to enable a wide range of applications and reproduction of the results: (1) point clouds of the 3d horizon meshes containing the x, y and z coordinates in the ASCII format, (2) a gridded digital elevation model based on the point cloud data in the GeoTIFF format and (3) GoCAD geological objects of the 3d horizons. The 3D horizons are provided in three different data formats: GoCAD objects, point data in a column-separated ASCII format, and rasterized digital elevation models (DEMs). For each dataset, we provide the surfaces (meshes) as well as the traced isochrones from the radargrams (with the exception of the DEMs, where we only provide the meshes). The coordinate system for data products is the cartesian EPSG:3413 (WGS 84 / NSIDC Sea Ice Polar Stereographic North). 1. GoCAD (Geological Objects) is a common file format for (mostly) commercial geological modeling software. The 3D horizon meshes are stored in the Triangulated surfaces (TSURF) format (.ts), which represents the shape as well as the meta-data of the respective horizon. The traced lines are stored in the Polyline (PLINE) format (.pl), which is equivalent to the TSURF format, however for lines. 2. We provide a high-resolution point cloud of xyz data in an ASCII file format for all 3D horizons. The point clouds are provided for the surface meshes as well as for the traced IRHs. The x and y columns represent the coordinates in the EPSG:3413 coordinate system and the z value the elevation in meters. 3. On the basis of the high-resolution point data, we generated digital elevation models (DEMs) in the GeoTIFF (.tif) and NetCDF (.nc) format. DEMs were interpolated a cell size of 50 m with the SAGA GIS Cubic Spline Approximation module. The file names for the different datasets are organized in the following systematic to specify the region, horizon age, geometry and file type: "[Region][Horizon][Version][age (ka)][subset][geometry].[filetype]", e.g., Petermann_P1_V001_14_5ka_mesh.dat for the P1 14.5 ka horizon mesh point cloud in the ASCII format. Note that the age is composed of two numbers (thousand years and houdred years) separated by a "", where for example 14_5_ka represents 14.5 ka.
