Metal Chelates of 2-Methyl-3-hydroxy-4-thiopyrone (Thiomaltol)Metal chelates of 2-methyl-3-hydroxy-4-thiopyrone with a series of metals are prepared as solids, the constitution of the complexes is determined in solution, and the extraction ability of the ligand for copper, nickel, cobalt and palladium is studied. Stability constants of the zinc and cadmium chelates are compared with those of thiodibenzoyl-methane.
    Notes: Eine Reihe von Metallchelaten des 2-Methyl-3-hydroxy-4-thiopyrons wird in Substanz dargestellt, die Komplexzusammensetzung in Lösung bestimmt und das Extraktionsverhalten des Liganden gegenüber Kupfer, Nickel, Kobalt und Palladium untersucht. Die Stabilitätskonstanten der Zink- und Cadmiumchelate werden mit denen für Thiobenzoylmethan verglichen.

    Description / Table of Contents: Chelates of β-Dicarbonyl Compounds and their Derivatives. 48. Properties of the 1-Phenyl-3-methyl-4-thiobenzoylpyrazolone, -4-benzoylthiopyrazolone, and -4-benzoylselenopyrazolone LigandsThio and seleno derivatives of 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-benzoyl-pyrazolone were synthesized by reaction of 1-phenyl-3-methyl-pyrazolon with dithiobenzoic ester and by reaction of the analogue 4-benzoyl-5-chlorpyrazole with sodium hydrosulfide or -selenide. Metal chelates of Cu, Ni, Co, Zn, Cd, Hg, Tl, and In were isolated. The influence of the central atoms on the optical behaviour was studied.
    Notes: Durch Umsetzung von 1-Phenyl-3-methylpyrazolon mit Dithiobenzoesäureester sowie von 1-Phenyl-3-methyl-4-benzoyl-5-chlorpyrazol mit Natriumhydrogensulfid bzw. -selenid werden die Thio- und Selenoderivate des 1-Phenyl-3-methyl-4-benzoyl-pyrazolons sowie Metallkomplexe mit Cu, Ni, Co, Zn, Cd, Hg, Tl und In dargestellt. Der Einfluß der Zentralatome auf die optischen Eigenschaften wurde untersucht.
