Zusammenfassung Durch orthorhythmische Serienstimulation kann auch bei absoluter Arrhythmie eine systematische Refraktärzeitmessung vorgenommen werden. Die Stimulationsserie reicht von der absoluten in die relative Refraktärzeit und erlaubt die Refraktärzeitmessung in jedem einzelnen Herzzyklus. Die Messung ist für die Leitungszeit zum Stimulationsort korrigiert. Die Indikationen des neuen Prinzips werden besprochen.

Summary Using orthorhythmic serial stimulation the measurement of the refractory period is possible also in arrhythmia absoluta. The series of stimulation impulses begins during the absolute refractory period and continues into the relative refractory period. The measurement of the functional refractory period (FRP) is possible in each one heart cycle. The FRP value is corrected for the conduction delay to the point of stimulation. The indications of the method are discussed.
