    Notes: Abstract  The localization of rRNA genes was studied by fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH) on chromosomes of the cultivated apple, M.×domestica ‘Pinova’ (2n=34). The 18S/25S rRNA loci were detected in terminal positions of the short arms of two submetacentric and two metacentric chromosome pairs. One 5S rRNA gene locus was found in the proximal region of the short arm of a small metacentric chromosome pair.

    Description / Table of Contents: On Chemistry and Crystal Chemistry of AcLnX6 Compounds (Ac = Th, U; Ln = Rare Earths; X = Br, I).Reactions of AcX4 (Ac: Th, U; X: Br, I) with Rare Earth Dihalides LnX2 lead to AcLnX6 compounds with Ln = Sm, Eu, Dy, Tm, Yb. In the case of the other Rare Earth compounds redox reactions and formation of the trihalides of Ac and Ln occur. Thermodynamic calculations help to understand the reaction paths. Different structure types (β- and γ-ThSnI6-type) occur depending on the radius ratio of the ions. They are statistical or ordered substitutions variants of AB3 structures (BiI3- or PuBr3-type). The compounds UBI6 (B: Sr, Eu, Ba) crystallize in their own structure type. All these compounds and those having a β-ThSnI6 structure can be transformed to a γ-ThSnI6-type modification under pressure.
    Notes: In Umsetzungen von AcX4 (Ac: Th, U; X: Br, I) mit Seltenerddihalogeniden LnX2 entstehen Verbindungen des Formeltyps AcLnX6 bei Ln = Sm, Eu, Dy, Tm, Yb. Bei Einsatz der Halogenide der übrigen Seltenen Erden kommt es zu Redox-Reaktionen unter Bildung der Trihalogenide von Ac und Ln. Thermodynamische Berechnungen machen die verschiedenen Reaktionsweisen verständlich. In Abhängigkeit vom Radienquotienten der Ionen entstehen verschiedene Strukturtypen (β- bzw. γ-ThSnI6-Typ), die statistische bzw. geordnete Substitutionsvarianten von AB3-Strukturen darstellen (BiI3- bzw. PuBr3-Typ). Daneben existiert in den Verbindungen UBI6 (B: Sr, Eu, Ba) ein eigener Strukturtyp. Alle Verbindungen dieses Typs und die mit β-ThSnI6-Struktur lassen sich unter Druck in den γ-ThSnI6-Typ umwandeln.
